The anomaly of ion emission at laser irradiation of targets measured by Badziak et al. was analyzed on the background of the extensive research in the past. In contrast to the irradiation with lasers of longer than 100 ps pulse duration, a drastic decrease of the maximum ion energies was measured with ps pulses. Very strange was the observation that the number of emitted fast ions was intensity independent. The usual ponderomotive or relativistic self-focusing theory and related processes could not explain the results. Instead a direct interaction within the skin depth of the irradiated target was concluded. This model confirms the plane geometry nonlinear force interaction in the ps range producing fast plasma blocks moving perpendicular off or into the target. The block moving into the target opens a new scheme of laser fusion by modifying the experiments of Norreys et al. The use of relatively low subrelativistic laser intensities for the new scheme of laser fusion is evaluated on the background of the long years studies of nonlinear force driven plasma blocks and earlier interpenetration fusion reactions for providing the parameters for expected fusion gains much higher than the experiment of Norreys et al. for a fusion power scheme. 相似文献

Seven different equations predicting heat transfer rates to small spheres in plasma flows are examined considering argon and nitrogan as plasma gases from 300 to 21,000 K at 1 atm. For argon there is a general consensus up to 9000 K, beyond which wide deviations in behavior occur. For nitrogen, the seven correlations are in good agreement up to 4000 K, but show substantial deviations beyond this value. Comparisons with the sparsely available experimental data are made for argon from 300 to 17,000 K and for nitrogen up to 5500 K. Disagreement between the various correlations and experiment can exceed one order of magnitude. 相似文献

Two‐phase flows hold an interest in many areas of science and engineering. In the safety field, one such topic is the accidental release of flammable and toxic pressure‐liquefied gases. In case of such a release, a flashing vapor explosion takes place resulting in a very dense two‐phase cloud. If the released substance is flammable, this cloud can be combustible and can lead to deflagration or detonation. For understanding the source processes of flashing and risk assessment, data related to cloud characteristics (i.e. droplet size, velocity etc.) is needed especially in the near region of the release. Due to the non‐equilibrium nature of the near field regions accurate data measurement is not possible with intrusive techniques. Therefore, laser‐based optical techniques (like Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), Particle Tracking Velocimetry and Sizing (PTVS), Phase Doppler Anemometry (PDA) etc.) present the only possibility to obtain information for particle diameter and velocity evolution in this harsh environment. 相似文献

Summary Oblique propagating magnetohydrodynamic waves with various wave forms and amplitudes are observed both at the Earth's foreshock
and at comets. The possibility of interpreting some observational results in terms of nonlinear evolution of one- and two-dimensional
hydromagnetic waves is investigated. For this purpose both analytical and numerical techniques are employed. It is found that
an initial monochromatic wave changes its polarization giving origin to magnetosonic shocks and rotational discontinuities;
the time evolution of density-magnetic-field correlation is studied, as a function of the plasma parameters and of the propagation
angle. In the two-dimensional case both a transverse instability and a self-focusing effect may take place. Moreover, a two-dimensional
magnetosonic solution is found, in which the density fluctuations are driven by the total pressure fluctuation as in a one-dimensional
simple wave. These theoretical predictions compare well with the features observed in the solar-wind waves.
