Through non-invasive monitoring the uptake of aniline vapor by active alumina in a differential adsorption bed (DAB) with near-infrared diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (NIR-DRS), we have studied several features of the adsorption, including isotherm, kinetics and the chemical state of aniline molecules in aniline-alumina system. What is perhaps more important, since the information above is obtained synchronously, the proposed methodology could provide information about the type of adsorption (chemical or physical adsorption), the change of chemical state of aniline in the system during the adsorption process, whether the chemical adsorption and physical adsorption took place simultaneously, the rate of the chemical and physical adsorption, and so on.  相似文献

Bromate, which is a potential carcinogen, should be removed from drinking water to levels of less than 10 μg/L. A chitosan‐based molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) and a sol–gel ion‐exchange double hydrous oxide (Fe2O3·Al2O3·xH2O) adsorbent (inorganic adsorbent) were prepared for this purpose. The sorption behavior of each adsorbent including sorption kinetics, isotherms, effect of pH and selective sorption were investigated in detail. Sorption experimental results showed that the MIP adsorbents had better selectivity for bromate, even in the presence of high concentrations of nitrate, as compared to the inorganic adsorbent. It was found that pH does not affect the adsorption of bromate when using the inorganic adsorbent. Additionally, both adsorbents were immobilized in a polymeric cryogel inside plastic carriers to make them more practical for using in larger scale. Regeneration of the cryogels either containing MIP or inorganic adsorbents were carried out by 0.1 M NaOH and 0.1 M NaCl, respectively. It was found that the regenerated MIP and inorganic adsorbents could be used at least three and five times, respectively, without any loss in their sorption capacity.  相似文献

研究了壬基酚聚氧乙烯醚(NPEO-10)在3种具有不同比表面积和孔径大小的超高交联树脂上的吸附行为与机理.3种超高交联树脂对壬基酚聚氧乙烯醚的吸附量受它们的比表面积和孔径大小以及溶液温度的影响.壬基酚聚氧乙烯醚在3种超高交联树脂上的吸附等温线可以用Langmuir和双Langmuir模型很好地拟合,而用Freundlich模型拟合则效果不好,但这些拟合曲线都具有相似的形状.热力学分析表明吸附过程主要表现为吸附质分子的疏水部分和吸附剂表面的作用以及吸附质分子在其表面形成胶束状的聚集体,即分散的、单层及双层聚集体的混合分布.吸附动力学曲线中的两个平台也证明了吸附过程存在单层和双层聚集体.脱附研究为实现超高交联树脂吸附分离水溶液中的壬基酚聚氧乙烯醚提供了合适的操作条件.  相似文献

氯化锂晶体具有很高的吸水性能,在吸附式空调制冷系统中常常被用作吸附剂。本文介绍了吸附式空调制冷系统的原理,研究了吸附剂(氯化锂)、吸附质(水汽)的性质;采用高真空吸附重量法测定氯化锂的等温吸附曲线及氯化锂吸附水汽的速率,并通过添加一种既有吸附增稠作用,又能强化氯化锂吸附性能的添加剂,改善氯化锂的等温吸附特性,降低氯化锂的再生温度。采用氯化锂混合吸附剂-水的开式旋转吸附式空调系统,具有显著的节能效果和双重杀菌功能,提供人们所喜爱的舒适空调域(室内温湿度26.7℃/50%RH),同时改善室内空气品质。  相似文献

The performance of a microporous activated carbon prepared chemically from olive stones for removing Cu(II), Cd(II) and Pb(II) from single and binary aqueous solutions was investigated via the batch technique. The activated carbon sample was characterized using N2 adsorption–desorption isotherms, SEM, XRD, FTIR, and Boehm titration. The effect of initial pH and contact time were studied. Adsorption kinetic rates were found to be fast and kinetic experimental data fitted very well the pseudo-second-order equation. The adsorption isotherms fit the Redlich–Peterson model very well and maximum adsorption amounts of single metal ions solutions follow the trend Pb(II) > Cd(II) > Cu(II). The adsorption behavior of binary solution systems shows a relatively high affinity to Cu(II) at the activated carbon surface of the mixture with Cd(II) or Pb(II). An antagonistic competitive adsorption phenomenon was observed. Desorption experiments indicated that about 59.5% of Cu(II) and 23% of Cd(II) were desorbed using a diluted sulfuric acid solution.  相似文献

The present work aimed to achieve valorization of Albian sands for the preparation of sodium silicates that are commonly used as a precursor to prepare silica gel. A siliceous sand sample was mixed with sodium carbonate and heated at a high temperature (1060 °C) to prepare sodium silicates. The sodium silicates were dissolved in distilled water to obtain high quality sodium silicate solution. Hydrochloric acid was then slowly added to the hydrated sodium silicates to obtain silica gel. The collected raw siliceous sands, as well as the prepared silica gels, were characterized by different techniques, such as X-ray fluorescence (XRF), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and thermal analysis (DSC). XRF confirmed that the detrital sand deposits of southern Tunisia contain high amounts of silica, with content ranging from 88.8% to 97.5%. The internal porosity varied between 17% and 22%, and the specific surface area was less than 5 m2/g. After the treatment described above, it was observed that the porosity of the obtained silica gel reached 57% and the specific surface area exceeded 340 m2/g. Nitrogen adsorption isotherms showed that the prepared silica gels are microporous and mesoporous materials with high adsorption capacities. These results suggest that the obtained silica gels are promising materials for numerous environmental applications.  相似文献

Release of heavy metal onto the water and soil as a result of agricultural and industrial activities may pose a serious threat to the environment. In this study, the adsorption behavior of nano hydroxyapatite with respect to Pb2+, Cd2+ and Ni2+ has been studied in order to consider its application to purity metal finishing wastewater. The batch method has been employed, using metal concentrations in solution ranging from 100 to 400 mg/L. The uptake capacity and distribution coefficients (Kd) were determined for the adsorption system as a function of sorbate concentration. The Langmuir, Freundlich, and Dubinin–Kaganer–Radushkevich (DKR) isotherms applied for sorption studies showed that the amount of metal sorbed on nano hydroxyapatite. It was found that the adsorption phenomena depend on charge density and hydrated ion diameter. According to the equilibrium studies, the selectivity sequence can be given as Pb2+ > Cd2+ > Ni2+. These results show that nano hydroxyapatite holds great potential to remove cationic heavy metal species from industrial wastewater.  相似文献

The adsorption of trans 1,4 polyisoprene was studied on alumina and silica gel at four temperatures. The solvents were cyclohexane, toluene, and 1:1 mixture of the two. The adsorption was found to decrease from cyclohexane >toluene >mixed solvent. The amount of adsorption was an inverse function of temperature. For almost all the systems, the adsorption isotherms were of Langmuir type, though solvent characteristic seems to be a more dominating factor than adsorbent in determining the shape of the isotherm.  相似文献

The results on attenuation of the radio wave due to rain at frequencies lying in the centimetre, millimetre and submillimetre wave bands for different rain rates over three Indian tropical stations are presented in this paper. The study is possible due to the availability of the rainfall rates measured by rapid response rain gauges and rain height over these stations. The results on attenuation were deduced by taking both 0° C isotherm height and effective height. The Stutzman and Dishman model with -value of 0.033 which is found suitable for the estimation of rain attenuation over the Indian stations has been critically examined in comparison with the attenuations deduced from CCIR (presently known as ITU-R) method.  相似文献

Distearoylphosphatidylcholine (DSPC) spread at the air/water interface is used as a model membrane and to study the lateral interaction between DSPC and distearoylphosphatidylethanolamine-polyethylene glycol 2000 (DSPE-PEG2000). DSPE-PEG2000 was found to be miscible with DSPC by our measurements of surface pressure–area per molecule (ΠA) isotherms at different temperatures. At different temperatures the nonideality and miscibility of mixed monolayer were determined by the analysis of excess area as a function of compositions, and the temperature effects on these deviations from ideality were evaluated. Furthermore, the interfacial thermodynamic characteristics of this mixed system including the change of entropies, the change of latent heats, and excess and mixing free energies during the compression process were calculated from the isotherms as a function of temperature in order to understand factors that affect the stability of mixed monolayer. It was found that increasing temperature and incorporation of DSPE-PEG2000 both may make the mixed monolayer more compressible.  相似文献
