A method for the determination of fluoride in coal, coal fly ash, phosphate rock, limestone, mineral clay, fossilised materials, oyster tissue and vegetation using pyrohydrolysis for sample decomposition is proposed. A specific apparatus was constructed and the influence of vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) as a catalyst for the pyrohydrolysis reaction was investigated. It was verified that V2O5 does not influence the release of fluoride from the vegetation, oyster tissue, coal and coal fly ash matrices analysed. However, the catalyst was necessary for the phosphate rock, fossil bone, mineral clay and limestone samples. Certified and noncertified samples were analysed using an ion selective electrode (ISE) for the analyte detection. Precise (relative standard deviation—R.S.D.<7%) and accurate (recovery in accordance to certified values) results were obtained. The limit of quantification (LOQ) of the method was 5.0 μg g−1 of fluoride using 20 mg of sample and a final dilution to 10 ml. The sample frequency was five samples per hour.  相似文献

The classical simplex method is extended into the Semiglobal Simplex (SGS) algorithm. Although SGS does not guarantee finding the global minimum, it affords a much more thorough exploration of the local minima than any traditional minimization method. The basic idea of SGS is to perform a local minimization in each step of the simplex algorithm, and thus, similarly to the Convex Global Underestimator (CGU) method, the search is carried out on a surface spanned by local minima. The SGS and CGU methods are compared by minimizing a set of test functions of increasing complexity, each with a known global minimum and many local minima. Although CGU delivers substantially better success rates in simple problems, the two methods become comparable as the complexity of the problems increases. Because SGS is generally faster than CGU, it is the method of choice for solving optimization problems in which function evaluation is computationally inexpensive and the search region is large. The extreme simplicity of the method is also a factor. The SGS method is applied here to the problem of finding the most preferred (i.e., minimum free energy) solvation sites on a streptavidin monomer. It is shown that the SGS method locates the same lowest free energy positions as an exhaustive multistart Simplex search of the protein surface, with less than one-tenth the number of minizations. The combination of the two methods, i.e.. multistart simplex and SGS, provides a reliable procedure for predicting all potential solvation sites of a protein.  相似文献

A solid state copper(II) ion sensor is reported based on the application of electropolymerized undoped (neutral) polycarbazole (PCz) and polyindole (PIn) modified electrodes. The new sensor shows high selectivity to Cu2+ ions with a detection limit of 10–5 M. PCz and PIn are formed respectively by the anodic oxidation of 50 mM carbazole and 5 mM indole monomers in dichloromethane containing 0.1 M tetrabutylammonium perchlorate on a platinum electrode using a single compartment cell. Potentiostatic polymerization of both the monomers are carried out at 1.3 V and 1.0 V vs. Ag/AgCl, respectively. Perchlorate ions were electrochemically removed from the polymer films by applying – 0.2 V vs. Ag/AgCl. Polymer-coated electrodes are incubated in 1 M KCl solution for 8 h followed by incubation in distilled water for 2 h before using as a metal ion sensor. The undoped PCz and PIn electrodes were found to be highly selective and sensitive for Cu2+ ions with little selectivity for Pb2+ and negligible response towards Ag+, Hg2+, Cu+, Ni2+, Co2+, Fe2+, Fe3+ or Zn2+. Potentiometric responses for Cu2+ ions are recorded for both the sensor electrodes together with a double-junction Ag/AgCl reference electrode. Calibration curves for Cu2+ are reported for both ion sensors. The polymer-modified electrodes were found to be stable for several weeks. Electronic Publication  相似文献

Molar enthalpies of solution at infinite dilution have been determined at 25°C for several N-alkyl and N,N-dialkylamides in water and in carbon tetrachloride, using a Calvet-type rotating calorimeter, and solution concentrations below 5×10–2 molal. Relevant enthalpies of transfer between the two solvents also have been derived. Molar enthalpies of solvation have been obtained by adding enthalpies of vaporization to solution values. Results are compared with those of other laboratories on other substituted amides, and their dependence on the number of carbon atoms in the chain is discussed. A possible computation of solvation enthalpies of functional groups is suggested and results for hydration of peptide or similar groups present in the compounds examined are discussed in terms of current models of their hydration and hydrogen bond formation.Presented at the sixth Italian meeting on Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis (AICAT) held in Naples, December 4–7, 1984.  相似文献

The enthalpies of solution of Co(II) and Na(I) trifluoromethanesulfonates (triflates) in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF)–methanol (MeOH) mixtures have been measured over the whole range of solvent composition. From these data the enthalpies of transfer of Co(II) and triflate ions from methanol to the mixed solvent have been determined usingliterature values of the enthalpies of transfer of the Na+ ion. The results have been analyzed by means of the theory of preferential solvation. The analysis revealed the preference of DMF for solvating the Co(II) ion in the MeOH-rich region of solvent composition and the lack of preference of any component in the DMF-rich region. Visible absorption spectra of the Co(II) ion in DMF–MeOH mixtures have been also measured in the whole range of solvent composition and analyzed using the partial least-squares method. The mean composition of the solvation sphere of the Co(II) ion versus solvent composition has been determined on the basis of both analyses. The results were found to be consistent with each other and with those obtained previously from FT-IR spectra.  相似文献

A novel membrane sensor for selective monitoring of iodide, consisting of a triiodide‐ketoconazole ion pair complex dispersed in a PVC matrix, plasticized with a mixture of 2‐nitrophenyl octyl ether and dioctylphtalate with unique selectivity toward iodide ions, is described. The influence of membrane composition, pH of test solution and foreign ions on the electrode performance were investigated. The optimized membrane demonstrates a near‐Nernstian response for iodide ions over a wide linear range from 1.0 × 10?2 to 1.0 × 10?5 M, at 25 ± 1 °C. The electrode could be used over a wide pH range 3–10 and has the advantages of high selectivity, fast response time and good lifetime (over 4 months). It was successfully used as indicator electrode in potentiometric titrations and direct potentiometric assay of iodide ions.  相似文献

The aim of this work is development of methodology for analysis of inorganic cations (sodium, ammonium, potassium, magnesium and calcium) in fertilizer industry wastewater. Method development includes optimization of eluent flow rate and concentration of eluent competing ion in order to obtain optimal separation within reasonable analysis time. For that purpose artificial neural network retention model was developed and used in combination with normalized resolution product criteria function. Developed artificial neural network retention model shows good predictive ability R2 ≥ 0.9983. The determined ion chromatographic parameters enable baseline separation of all components of interest. By performing validation procedure and number of statistical tests it is shown that developed ion chromatographic method has superior performance characteristic: linearity R2 ≥ 0.9984, recovery = 99.81% − 99.44%, repeatability RSD ≤ 0.52%. That result proves that proposed method can be used for routine monitoring analysis in fertilizer industry.  相似文献

Ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) is a proven technology for detection of vapor phase chemical warfare agents. The technology is suitable for field portable instrumentation due to its small size, high sensitivity, speed of analysis, and low power consumption. However, it suffers from a limited dynamic range and potential difficulties in identifying compounds in complex matrices. The use of gas chromatography (GC) coupled to IMS can overcome the difficulty of chemical identification in mixtures by separating the sample into individual components before detection. Using this approach, IMS technology has previously been adapted to detect biological aerosols using an open tube pyrolyzer and a short GC column (Py-GC-IMS). The open sample introduction tube of a Py-GC-IMS instrument would be a convenient configuration to accept aerosol particulates, and while viewed as needed for aerosol trapping, is not optimal for liquid chemical analyses. To examine the usefulness of an existing Py-GC-IMS system for analysis of chemicals in water, an existing open-port sample interface was replaced with a septum-equipped closed tube injector to contain analyte vapors resulting from liquid injection. Tributylphosphate (TBP) was used as a surrogate chemical warfare agent, and aqueous injections into both closed and open tube assemblies were performed. Sample introduction into the closed tube inlet was also accomplished using solid phase microextraction (SPME) preconcentration. The limit of detection for TBP using an open tube, closed tube, and closed tube configuration with SPME sample introduction was 0.980, 0.196, and 0.0098 mg/L, respectively.  相似文献

Proton relaxation time measurements are performed for 6m aqueous solutions of7LiI and6LiI in D2O containing small amounts of H2O. The measurements are done at low temperatures and yield maxima of the relaxation rate plotted against 1/T. From the maxima of the relaxation rates, proteon-I and proton-Li+ distances in the first coordination sphere of the ions are determined, and from the knowledge of the ion-water oxygen distance it is shown that for iodide a somewhat broadened H-bonded configuration is valid and that for Li+ the electric dipole orientation deviates from the radial direction. In order to test the reliability of the method a proton-127I interaction study is also performed in KI solution in glycerol. The I-H distance obtained is in satisfactory agreement with that found in the aqueous system.  相似文献
