Fluid flow approximations are widely used for approximating models of communication systems where packet arrival streams are generated in a regular manner over certain intervals (constant rate). The appropriate mathematical model for describing those bursty arrival streams in the fluid flow framework are the well-known Markov modulated rate processes (MMRP). The paper deals with the distribution of the numberN(t) of packets in the interval [0,t] of MMRP. For two-state MMRPs and their superpositions we derive formulas for the distribution ofN(t) and its density. Further we give asymptotic results. The presented numerical results and simulation studies illustrate the goodness of the fluid flow approximation and show that the proposed numerical algorithms work well even in the case of multiplexing a large number of burst silence sources.This work was partially supported by a grant from the Deutsche Bundespost TELEKOM.  相似文献

Nonhomogeneous Poisson process (NHPP) is a commonly used stochastic model that is utilized to describe the pattern of repeated occurrence of certain events or conditions. Aninhomogeneous gamma process evolves as a generalization to NHPP, where the observed failure epochs correspond to every successive κ-th event of the underlying Poisson process, κ being an unknown parameter to be estimated from the data. This article focuses on a special class of inhomogeneous gamma process, calledmodulated power law process (MPLP) that assumes the Weibull form of the intensity function. The traditional power law process is a popular stochastic formulation of certain empirical relationships between the time to failure and the cumulative number of failures, often observed in industrial experiments. The MPLP retains this underlying physical basis and provides a more flexible modeling environment potentially leading to a better fit to the failure data at hand. In this paper, we investigate inference issues related to MPLP. The maximum likelihood estimators (MLE’s) of the model parameters are not in closed form and enjoy the curious property that they are asymptotically normal with a singular variance-covariance matrix. Consequently, the derivation of the large-sample results requires non-standard modifications of the usual arguments. We also propose a set of simple closed-form estimators that are asymptotically equivalent to the MLE’s. Extensive simulation results are carried out to supplement the theoretical findings. Finally, we implement our inference results to a failure dataset arising from a repairable system.  相似文献

利用浇注法制备了具有正弦波调制图纹的溴代聚苯乙烯薄膜,并在此基础上将低密度聚-4-甲基-1-戊烯(PMP)泡沫溶胶浇注在薄膜调制图纹的表面,从而得到了薄膜-泡沫复合平面调制靶样品。较为详细的讨论了具有正弦波调制图纹的复合平面调制靶的制备方法并通过台阶仪、显微镜观测了薄膜表面条纹的起伏以及薄膜-泡沫截面的复合情况,实验结果发现,采用此种方法得到的复合平面调制靶样品,其薄膜厚度、泡沫密度易于控制,薄膜、泡沫调制界面清晰,易于微靶的加工与装配。  相似文献

通过探讨像增强器MTF测试仪用光源的出射光照度对测量结果的影响,对透过测量狭缝的光强分布进行了分析.调节狭缝面的入射光照度,对不同照度作用下的调制传递函数进行了对比测量,经与微光像增强器的饱和输出亮度比较,得出:三代微光像增强器的MTF测试值随入射光照度分布呈抛物线分布,其最大值与微光像增强器的自动亮度控制特性有关.适当选择入射光照度,可确保被测像增强器既有足够的输出信噪比,而不进入饱和区域.  相似文献

Based on our previous work,the influence of annealing conditions on impurity species in in-situ arsenic (As)-doped Hg 1 x Cd x Te (x ≈ 0.3) grown by molecular beam epitaxy has been systematically investigated by modulated photoluminescence spectra.The results show that (i) the doped-As acting as undesirable shallow/deep levels in as-grown can be optimized under proper annealing conditions and the physical mechanism of the disadvantage of high activation temperature,commonly assumed to be more favourable for As activation,has been discussed as compared with the reports in the As-implanted HgCdTe epilayers (x ≈ 0.39),(ii) the density of V Hg has an evident effect on the determination of bandgap (or composition) of epilayers and the excessive introduction of V Hg will lead to a short-wavelength shift of epilayers,and (iii) the V Hg prefers forming the V Hg-As Hg complex when the inactivated-As (As Hg or related) coexists in a certain density,which makes it difficult to annihilate V Hg in As-doped epilayers.As a result,the bandedge electronic structures of epilayers under different conditions have been drawn as a brief guideline for preparing extrinsic p-type epilayers or related devices.  相似文献

Abstract

The structure, phase composition, and temperature behavior of two trans-1,4-polybutadienes (TPBs) were studied by means of x-ray scattering and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) techniques. The two samples examined were (1) PB synthesized using an immobilized titanium-magnesium catalyst and (2) a random copolymer based on PB prepared with a homogeneous vanadium-containing catalyst used as a reference material. It was found that the nascent structure of the first PB involves three phases: crystalline, mesomorphic (low-temperature form), and amorphous. In the vicinity of 65°C, a first-order phase transition occurs. The system becomes biphasic and contains the high-temperature form of the mesophase, as well as the amorphous phase, component. Above 165°C, the polymer melts to form a single-phase isotropic melt with a structure typical of liquids. The lateral dimension of crystallites reversibly changes at the crystal-mesophase transition. It is suggested that during annealing of the mesophase formed by cooling of the isotropic melt, the chains acquire an extended conformation. Loss of regularity of the structure of macromolecules of TPB causes a reduction of phase transition temperatures, an increase of the imperfection of the crystalline phase, and a contraction of the temperature range of existence of the mesophase.  相似文献

Abstract

The excitation of surface plasma waves due to the interaction of an elliptical relativistic density modulated electron beam with the magnetized dusty plasma column with elliptical cross-section has been studied. The dispersion relation of surface plasma waves has been retrieved from the derived dispersion relation by considering that the beam is absent and there is no dust in the plasma elliptical cylinder. It is shown that the Cherenkov and fast cyclotron interactions appear between the beam and eigen-modes of plasma column. The growth rate of the instability increases with the beam density and modulation index as one-third power of the beam density in Cherenkov interaction and is proportional to the square root of beam density in fast cyclotron interaction. The numerical results and graphs are presented, too.  相似文献

The temperature and angular dependences of the EPR spectra of Mg[H2O]6SiF6:Mn2+ crystal were investigated in order to clarify the successive phase transitions and existence of the incommensurate phase. Five successive phase transitions were found to occur, and phase II was found to be incommensurately modulated. The modulated structure is caused mainly by the vibrational displacement of the Mg[H2O]2+ 6 ion along the c-axis. The soliton density of this phase is almost independent of temperature and remains equal to unity.  相似文献
