Additive induced polymorphism of a conformationally locked tetraacetate 3 in presence of its diastereomer 4 is described. The ester 3 was specially crafted on a trans-decalin backbone to relegate the O-H?O H-bond donors to the molecular interior and have the peripheral H-bond acceptors in 1,3-syndiaxial relationship. The supramolecular assembly of 3 was destined to evolve along two mutually exclusive pathways, namely one, which employs intermolecular O-H?O H-bonds (pathway 1) and the other that sacrifices these for intramolecular O-H?O H-bonds and settles for a crystal packing dictated by weak intermolecular interactions alone (pathway 2). Exploiting the similarity between the self-assemblies of 4 and the two recently reported dimorphs of 3, the ester 3 has been stimulated to follow the elusive non-hierarchical pathway 2 through preferential inhibition of pathway 1. The kinetic of the sol–gel hydrolysis and polycondensation reactions of a chiral ORMOSIL precursor was investigated by LCMS
technique as a function of water excess and pH. While the amount of water does not significantly change the kinetics, the
reactions strongly depend on the [H]+ concentration. At pH ≤ 3, the hydrolysis is very fast and the conversion of the precursor is completed within less than 1
h whereas at 80% of the precursor is still present after 50 h at pH = 3.5. This kinetic study allows to define a set of initial
conditions and time ranges required to provide good optical quality dip coated films .

Despite wide application of cellulose-azure as a substrate for measuring cellulase activity, there is no quantification of hydrolysis rate or enzymatic activities using this substrate. The aim of this study was to quantify the hydrolysis rate in terms of product formation and dye released using cellulose-azure. The amount of dye released was correlated with the production of glucose and the enzyme concentrations. It is shown that the lack of correlation can be due to (1) repression of the release of the azure-dye when azure-dye accumulates, (2) presence of degradable substrates in the cellulase powder which inflate the glucose measurements and (3) the degradation of cellulose which is not linked to the dye in the cellulose-azure. Based on the lack of correlation, it is recommended that cellulose-azure should only be applied in assays when the aim is to compare relative activities of different enzymatic systems. 相似文献

Copolyesters of poly(ε-caprolactone) diol and 1,18-octadecane dicarboxylic acid were synthesized by polyaddition. The copolymers have a "mixed" structure of ’polyester-polyethylene’. Characterization was carried out by using 1H and 13C NMR, FT-IR, viscosities, DSC, and GPC. The tensile strength varied from 11.9 to 19.9 MPa, and elongation at break varied from 370 to 660 %, respectively. Biodegradability was evaluated by enzymatic hydrolysis (lipases from Rhizopus arrhizus and Candida cylindracea and an esterase form hog liver) and by soil burial test. 1 and the concentrations of various bromides could be presented with a single curve, and the cations of the bromides have little

1. Under the experimental conditions, there is a linear relation between 1/k
1 and the concentrations of Br−; thereby a new method calculating the competition binding constant between OH− and Br− from dynamic data is proposed. The hydrodynamic radii of the micelles increase with the addition of bromide salts.

The hydrolysis of bis-(nitrophenyl) phosphate (BNPP) as model for secondary phosphate esters is analyzed at six different concentrations of Eu(III) ions and four temperatures between 303 and 343 K. Eyring plots yield activation enthalpy parameters which with, e.g. [Eu 3+ ] between 0.40 and 10.0 mM drop from 130 to 74 kJ mol m 1 , respectively, with a relatively small drop in the opposing entropy contributions. The observed saturation profiles allow for the first time to evaluate the influence of j H and j S separately on the Michaelis-Menten values K M and k cat , showing that the catalytic metal-ion effects are largely due to changes in k cat and dominated by favorable j H changes. Preliminary studies of the solvent influence show a surprising difference between water mixtures with either ethanol or DMSO. With, e.g. 40% ethanol, one observes a doubling of the rate constant, with 40% DMSO an almost 10-fold rate decrease. In both cases, a linear correlation with the solvent polarity parameter E T is found. 相似文献
