The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of sound elimination in a cylindrical duct by combining a reactive muffler and active noise control (ANC) system. Besides the exploration via experiment of the combined noise control system, a Grey prediction based on Grey theory is also applied to ANC for this hybrid system.In the experiment for this system, a combined adaptive algorithm is adopted. The results of sound elimination are compared between cases with ANC systems installed before the muffler and after the muffler. The results indicate that the sequence of arrangement of muffler can influence the results of active noise control. According to the results of experiment and simulation, the effect of noise reduction in ANC system is influenced extremely by reference signal received. The transmission loss and insertion loss in this system are also discussed in details. Besides, the experimental results indicate that the hybrid system has the advantages over a traditional muffler when the muffler is not designed for the frequency of the noise. Furthermore, the mathematic simulation for acoustic field in a cylindrical duct with a muffler is performed in order to verify the experiment results. Finally, Grey theory is applied to estimate the expected signals in order to perform a computer simulation of Grey prediction to explore effects of the ANC system. In this paper, a hybrid post-filter for microphone arrays with the assumption of a diffuse noise field is proposed to suppress correlated as well as uncorrelated noise. In the proposed post-filter, a modified Zelinski post-filter, which is estimated using the signals on the microphone pairs on which noises are uncorrelated by considering the correlation characteristics of noise impinging on different microphone pairs, is applied to the high frequencies to suppress spatially uncorrelated noise; a single-channel Wiener post-filter is applied to the low frequencies for cancellation of spatially correlated noise. In theory, the proposed post-filter is a Wiener post-filter. In practice, experiments using multi-channel recordings were conducted, and experimental results demonstrate the usefulness and superiority of the proposed post-filter compared to other post-filters using speech quality measures and speech recognition rate. 相似文献

Titanium zirconium phosphate and organic polymer hybrid (poly-vinyl alcohol, (3-glycidoxypropyl)-trimethoxysilane and ethylene glycol) based membranes were investigated for their potential application as proton conductors. The hybrid materials were characterized by XRD, FTIR, SEM, TGA and impedance spectroscopy analysis. It was found that embedding of functionalised inorganic particles (TiZrP) into composite polymer matrix allowed for some crystallinity formation, and cross-linking of hydroxyl groups during annealing or reactions within the organic and inorganic phases during synthesis. A complex structure was formed, as many FTIR peaks were masked by more defined peaks assigned to P–O–R bonds. The high concentration of phosphorus in the TiZrP (1:1:9 molar ratio) samples resulted in more hydrophilic particles. This was further reflected in the hybrid membranes as the water losses increased from 13 to 25 wt.% as a function of the TiZrP content changing from 10 to 50 wt.% in the final hybrid membrane, respectively. As a result, proton conductivity increased by two to three orders of magnitude from blank (organic phase only) membranes (2.61 × 10− 5 S cm− 1) to TiZrP hybrid membrane (2.41 × 10− 2 S cm− 1) at 20 °C. Proton conduction changed as a function of temperature and the Ti1Zr1P9 particles content, mainly attributed to the membrane ability to retain water, thus complying with the Grotthus mechanism. 相似文献

and studied by TEM, AFM, XPS, and UV spectroscopy. The synthesized nanoparticles are prone to connect with each other and
form large nanoclusters. The diameters of the nanoparticles are 46 ± 26 nm. It is believed that a porous network structure
exists inside the nanoparticles. The UV absorption spectra of the nanoparticles are sensed with pH and can be reversibly changed
according to the pH level. This phenomenon of the nanoparticles has some potential applications. Nanosheets and branched rods

This study investigates the numerical solution of viscoelastic flows using two contrasting high-order finite volume schemes. We extend our earlier work for Poiseuille flow in a planar channel and the single equation form of the extended pom–pom (SXPP) model [M. Aboubacar, J.P. Aguayo, P.M. Phillips, T.N. Phillips, H.R. Tamaddon-Jahromi, B.A. Snigerev, M.F. Webster, Modelling pom–pom type models with high-order finite volume schemes, J. Non-Newtonian Fluid Mech. 126 (2005) 207–220], to determine steady-state solutions for planar 4:1 sharp contraction flows. The numerical techniques employed are time-stepping algorithms: one of hybrid finite element/volume type, the other of pure finite volume form. The pure finite volume scheme is a staggered-grid cell-centred scheme based on area-weighting and a semi-Lagrangian formulation. This may be implemented on structured or unstructured rectangular grids, utilising backtracking along the solution characteristics in time. For the hybrid scheme, we solve the momentum-continuity equations by a fractional-staged Taylor–Galerkin pressure-correction procedure and invoke a cell-vertex finite volume scheme for the constitutive law. A comparison of the two finite volume approaches is presented, concentrating upon the new features posed by the pom–pom class of models in this context of non-smooth flows. Here, the dominant feature of larger shear and extension in the entry zone influences both stress and stretch, so that larger stretch develops around the re-entrant corner zone as Weissenberg number increases, whilst correspondingly stress levels decline. 相似文献

As a sequel to our previous paper on extending the Fast Multipole Method (FMM) for charges inside a dielectric sphere [J. Comput. Phys. 223 (2007) 846–864], this paper further extends the FMM to the electrostatic calculation for charges inside a dielectric sphere immersed in an ionic solvent, a scenery with more relevance in biological applications. The key findings include two fourth-order multiple discrete image approximations in terms of u = λa to the reaction field induced by the ionic solvent, provided that u = λa < 1 where λ is the inverse Debye screening length of the ionic solvent and a is the radius of the dielectric sphere. A 10−4 relative accuracy in the reaction field of a source charge within the sphere can be achieved with only 3–4 point image charges. Together with the image charges, the FMM can be used to speed up the calculation of electrostatic interactions of charges in a dielectric sphere immersed in an ionic solvent. 相似文献
