Selective water sorbents for multiple applications, 8. sorption properties of CaCl2?SiO2 sol-gel composites

This paper presents sorption properties of CaCl₂/SiO₂ composites synthesized by a sol-gel approach. Desorption isobars measured at T=30–140°C and vapor pressure 12.8–81.0 mbar clearly show a correlation between the sorbents pore structure and their sorption properties. The sample adsorptivities are found to exceed 1.2 kg H₂O/kg adsorbent (or 20–25 mol H₂O/mol of the salt). That is markedly higher than any reported before for silica-based materials. This results in a high energy storage capacity reaching 3,400 kJ/kg of dry sorbent, as confirmed by direct calorimetric measurements. The isosteric desorption heat is found to decrease from 67±5 kJ/mol to 46±5 kJ/mol with increase in the surface coverage.     

金属氯化物-苯并噻唑有机-无机杂化化合物的合成、表征及荧光性质

金属卤化物MCl₂（M=Pb²⁺,Cd²⁺,Co²⁺）分别与苯并噻唑（btz）在浓盐酸中、80 ℃下反应,合成了3种有机-无机杂化化合物：（btzH）[（PbCl₃）] （1）,（btzH）₂[CdCl₄]·2H₂O （2）和（btzH）₂[CoCl₄]·2H₂O （3）,其中化合物2和3结构相似。对化合物1~3进行了粉末衍射、红外和紫外光谱、元素分析、热重分析以及X射线单晶衍射表征。荧光测试发现：化合物1~3在393 nm处有发射峰,该荧光来源于苯并噻唑环中电子的π…π跃迁。     

The Effect of the Modification of Carbon Spheres with ZnCl2 on the Adsorption Properties towards CO2

Zinc chloride and potassium oxalate are often applied as activating agents for carbon materials. In this work, we present the preparation of ZnO/carbon spheres composites using resorcinol-formaldehyde resin as a carbon source in a solvothermal reactor heated with microwaves. Zinc chloride as a zinc oxide source and potassium oxalate as an activating agent were applied. The effect of their addition and preparation conditions on the adsorption properties towards carbon dioxide at 0 °C and 25 °C were investigated. Additionally, for all tested sorbents, the CO₂ sorption tests at 40 °C, carried out utilizing a thermobalance, confirmed the trend of sorption capacity measured at 0 and 25 °C. Furthermore, the sample activated using potassium oxalate and modified using zinc chloride (a carbon-to-zinc ratio equal to 10:1) displayed not only a high CO₂ adsorption capacity (2.69 mmol CO₂/g at 40 °C) but also exhibited a stable performance during the consecutive multicycle adsorption–desorption process.     

Research Progress on Typical Quaternary Ammonium Salt Polymers

Quaternary ammonium salt polymers, a kind of polyelectrolyte with a quaternary ammonium group, are widely used in traditional and emerging industries due to their good water-solubility, adjustable cationicity and molecular weight, high efficiency and nontoxicity. In this paper, firstly, the properties and several synthesis methods of typical quaternary ammonium salt monomers were introduced. Secondly, the research progress on the synthesis of polymers was summarized from the perspective of obtaining products with high molecular weight, narrow molecular weight distribution and high monomer conversion, and special functional polymers. Thirdly, the relationships between the structures and properties of the polymer were analyzed from the perspectives of molecular weight, charge density, structural stability, and microstructural regulation of the polymer chain unit. Fourthly, typical examples of quaternary ammonium salt polymers in the application fields of water treatment, daily chemicals, petroleum exploitation, papermaking, and textile printing and dyeing were listed. Finally, constructive suggestions were put forward on developing quaternary ammonium salt polymers with high molecular weights, strengthening the research on the relationships between the structures and their properties and pinpointing relevant application fields.     

氯化钾水溶液微观结构的分子动力学模拟研究

氯化钾水溶液不同于氯化钠的,其在低温下只能形成无水盐和冰.现有研究表明在氯化钠水溶液中不仅存在着水分子连续分布的区域与离子团簇,而且这二者的物质组成也与该溶液所形成晶体的分别对应.为了探寻其他溶液中是否存在此类对应关系,并考察溶液的微观结构,本文采用分子动力学方法对氯化钾水溶液进行了研究,表明了该溶液的一些性质.氯化钾水溶液中K⁺-K⁺和Cl^--Cl^-径向分布函数的特征具有一致性,峰的最大值所对应的位置都分别相同,明显不同于氯化钠水溶液的.系列时刻下瞬态图像内O到其最近离子距离中最大值的统计结果表明氯化钾水溶液中存在着一定大小的水分子连续分布的区域,其平均尺寸至少为2.26 nm;瞬态图像中K⁺与其最近邻Cl^-之间的距离主要分布在0.28 nm～0.38 nm之间,占比约为97.4%;溶液中存在着较大和较小两类离子团簇,较大团簇的平均尺寸为1.73nm,平均离子数是25.0,其内部的离子与周围离子之间具有与氯化钾晶体类似的结构;这些结果表明氯化钾水溶液中也...     

Synthesis, growth, spectral, thermal and photoluminescence properties of a new semiorganic NLO crystal—Thiosemicarbazide lithium chloride [TSLC]

Thiosemicarbazide lithium chloride [TSLC] a new semiorganic nonlinear optical crystal has been synthesized. Single crystals by TSLC have been grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique at room temperature. Chemical composition of the synthesized material was confirmed by elemental analysis. Powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern of the grown crystal has been studied. Functional groups present in the materials were identified by FT IR spectral analysis ranging between 4000 and 450 cm⁻¹. The optical transmission was studied through UV-vis spectrophotometer. Thermal analysis is carried out on the crystal and inferred to be stable at 176 °C. The second harmonic generation (SHG) of the TSLC crystal was confirmed using Nd:YAG laser and also fluorescence spectral analysis is carried out for the TSLC crystal.     

Transition from rigid to flexible structures in micelles of Undecylammonium chloride in aqueous solutions of NaCl

Small angle neutron scattering (SANS) data for Undecylammonium chloride (UAC) in heavy water in the presence of NaCl 0.0428 and 0.3422 M are consistent with the presence of elongated micelles. This micellar shape has been adopted to analyze viscosity data of UAC in water in the presence of NaCl. The results obtained from this last technique are consistent with the increase of the micelle aggregation number with increasing the surfactant concentration. Micelles change from prolate ellipsoidal shape to cylindrical and wormlike shapes by increasing the added NaCl concentration and surfactant concentrations. The differences between results for the micelle aggregation number calculated from viscosity, SANS and light scattering data have been attributed to the solvent effect on micelle formation as well as changes in the size, shape and flexibility of the micelle. Viscosity data provide qualitative information on the effect of the added NaCl concentration and surfactant concentration on the size, shape, flexibility of the micelles in diluted solutions.     

Effect of the End Groups and the Solvent on the Gelation of the Hybrid Materials from Poly (Vinyl Chloride) (PVC) and Oligo Phenylene Vinylene (OPV)

Abstract

The role of the end-groups of three oligophenylene vinylene (OPV) and the solvents on the hybrid materials from poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) and the OPV are examined. The gelation of the three organogel OPVs and of the hybrid materials in bromobenzene and benzyl alcohol was characterized. The morphology, as well as the thermodynamic properties, of these OPV and hybrid materials showed that they depended mostly on the solvent and very little on the different end-groups located on the OPV backbones.     

Visible-Light-Induced Vicinal Dichlorination of Alkenes through LMCT Excitation of CuCl2

This work demonstrates photoredox vicinal dichlorination of alkenes, based on the homolysis of CuCl₂ in response to irradiation with visible light. This catalysis proceeds via a ligand to metal charge transfer process and provides an exciting opportunity for the synthesis of 1,2-dichloride compounds using an inexpensive, low-molecular-weight chlorine source. This new process exhibits a wide substrate scope, excellent functional group tolerance, extraordinarily mild conditions and does not require external ligands. Mechanistic studies show that the ready formation of chlorine atom radicals is responsible for the facile formation of C−Cl bonds in this synthetic process.     

氯柱硼镁石在氯化镁水溶液中相转化平衡液相的红外光谱分析

采用差示FTIR光谱技术,研究了氯柱硼镁石在30℃下浓度为0.5,12和18％MgCl_2水溶液中溶解及相转化平衡饱和水溶液中硼氧配阴离子的FTIR光谱。给出了溶液中硼氧配阴离子的FTIR光谱振动频率的归属,515cm~(-1)为单和二硼氧配阴离子特征峰,630cm~(-1)为三硼氧配阴离子特征峰,550cm~(-1)为四硼氧配阴离子特征峰。对饱和水溶液中硼氧配阴离子的存在形式及其相互作用以及与相转化析出固相的关系进行了讨论。
