Flame-retardant expandable graphite (EG)/silicone rubber (SR) composites were prepared using nano-CaCO3 particles as reinforcement filler. In addition to mechanical measurements, limited oxygen index (LOI), UL-94 and cone calorimeter tests (CCT), the thermal properties were tested by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The results showed that the content and particle size of the EG both had large effects on the flammability and mechanical properties of the EG/SR blends. The composites that contained 25 phr EG (50–80 mu) had excellent LOI values, 47–48, and achieved the UL-94 V-0 level while the pure SR sample had the LOI value of 25 and achieved the UL-94 V-2 level. The data obtained from the CCT indicated that the addition of EG decreased remarkably the heat release rate, smoke emission, and mass loss rate of the composites. SEM microphotographs of the EG/SR composites before and after combustion demonstrated that EG underwent a large volume expansion, and the multiporous char structure blocked heat transfer and protected the substrate from fire.  相似文献

We have investigated the performance of a graphite–boron composite (GBC) with 3?wt % boron as a precursor for a boron-doped diamond heater in a Kawai-type apparatus at 15?GPa. We first tested a machinable cylinder of GBC sintered at 1000°C in Ar/H2 gas (99:1 molar ratio). Boron oxide (B2O3) formed during sintering frequently hindered the GBC heater from stable operation at temperatures higher than 1400°C by producing melt throughout the heater together with oxide and/or silicates. We then rinsed the GBC heater in hydrochloric acid to remove B2O3. After rinsing, we succeeded in stably generating temperatures higher than 2000°C. We also improved a molding process of different-sized GBC tubes for convenient use and tested the molded GBC heater. It was free from the B2O3 problem. The electromotive force of the W/Re thermocouple was successfully monitored up to 2400°C.  相似文献

The extensive upgrade of the experimental end‐station of the SPECTROMICROSCOPY‐3.2L beamline at Elettra synchrotron light source is reported. After the upgrade, angle‐resolved photoemission spectroscopy from a submicrometre spot and scanning microscopy images monitoring the photoelectron signal inside selected acquisition angle and energy windows can be performed. As a test case, angle‐resolved photoemission spectroscopy from single flakes of highly oriented pyrolitic graphite and imaging of the flakes with image contrast owing to rotation of the band dispersion of different flakes are presented.  相似文献

Two types of absorption centers, one being related to monomers and the other to dimers, have been revealed by the method of statistical analysis of the normalized absorption spectra of a superthin interlayer of nitrobenzene of variable thickness formed on activated surfaces of quartz and barium fluoride and measured for different thicknesses of the interlayer. This work reports an experimental investigation of the ferroelectric character of magnetic phases of the orthorhombic Eu1−xY xMnO3 system at low temperatures. The temperature dependence of the polarization curves clearly reveals the existence of a re-entrant improper ferroelectric phase for x=0.2, 0.3 and 0.5. A ferroelectric phase is also stable for x=0.4, and we have no experimental evidence for its vanishing down to 7 K. From these and early results obtained using other experimental techniques, the corresponding (x,T) phase diagram was traced, yielding significant differences with regard to the ones previously reported.  相似文献

Using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and time of flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF/SIMS), we observed radiation effects on a Si(1 1 1)-(7 × 7) surface in the collision of a single highly charged ion (HCI) with a charge state q up to q = 50. The STM observation with atomic resolution revealed that a nanometer sized crater-like structure was created by a single HCI impact, where the size increased rapidly with q. The secondary ion yields also increased with q in which multiply charged Si ions (Sin+) were clearly observed in higher q HCI-collisions. The sputtering mechanism is briefly discussed, based on the so-called Coulomb explosion model.  相似文献

利用全相对论性多组态Dirac-Fock广义平均能级方法,系统地计算了类镁离子3s3p磁偶极Ml^3P2--^3P1和电四极E2 ^2P2--^3P0(Z=20-103)光谱跃迁的能级间隔、跃迁几率和振子强度。计算中考虑了原子核的有限体积效应,进行了高阶Breit修正和QED修正,所得到的能级间隔和最近的实验数据及理论计算值进行了比较。计算结果表明:高原子序数的高荷电离子的磁偶极矩M1和电四极矩E2跃迁几率和中性原子的电偶极E1的相当,在ICF和MCF高温激光等离子体中,磁偶极矩M1和电四极矩E2跃迁过程不容被忽视。  相似文献

Below its ordering temperature (T N = 90 K), bulk bcc Eu has a helical magnetic state with propagation vectors along the three equivalent 〈100〉 directions. In contrast, epitaxial (110)Eu films exhibit a unique magnetic ordering: the domain with a magnetic helix propagating along the in-plane [001] direction vanishes on cooling, at the expense of other domains with helices propagating along [100] and [010]. This paper is devoted to the study of the stability of the magnetic domains in an external magnetic field using neutron scattering experiments and macroscopic magnetization measurements. The helix propagating along the [001] direction can be restored by the application of an external field along this direction. On the contrary, when a magnetic field is applied along an intermediate direction, specifically [10], the domain with a helix propagating along [001] is suppressed. Both effects depend on the film thickness. They are explained if one considers that, because of the low magnetic anisotropy of Eu, a helix with a propagation vector parallel to (or close to) the applied magnetic field is energetically more favourable than cycloidal structures with unchanged propagation vectors. Finally, the amplitudes of the propagation vectors and their directions (that are modified in films compared to bulk) do not vary under magnetic field.  相似文献

The electronic structures of the metallic and insulating phases of the alloy series Ca2-xSrxRuO4 ( 0 ? x ? 2) are calculated using LDA, LDA+U and Dynamical Mean-Field Approximation methods. In the end members the groundstate respectively is an orbitally non-degenerate antiferromagnetic insulator (x = 0) and a good metal (x = 2). For x > 0.5 the observed Curie-Weiss paramagnetic metallic state which possesses a local moment with the unexpected spin S = 1/2, is explained by the coexistence of localized and itinerant Ru-4d-orbitals. For 0.2 < x < 0.5 we propose a state with partial orbital and spin ordering. An effective model for the localized orbital and spin degrees of freedom is discussed. The metal-insulator transition at x = 0.2 is attributed to a switch in the orbital occupation associated with a structural change of the crystal. Received 27 July 2001  相似文献
