Controlling the reduction in molecular weight of the cellulose chains is essential in the production of carboxymethyl cellulose
(CMC). Such a reduction can be achieved by the addition of cobalt during the process of cobalt(II) ions, which act as a catalyst
for oxidative cleavage, and the influence thereof has been studied under a variety of conditions. This study has resulted
in a model that summarises the effects of the added amount of cobalt, the time for the cobalt reaction, the temperature in
the mercerisation stage of the CMC-manufacturing process and finally the effect of the temperature in the etherification stage.
It is shown that it is important for cobalt to be present during the mercerisation stage in order to achieve the desired viscosity. 相似文献

A new layered cobalt-zinc phosphite, Co(H2O)4Zn4(HPO3)6·C2N2H10 has been synthesized in the presence of ethylenediamine as the structure-directing agent. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group Cc (No. 9), a=18.2090(8), b=9.9264(7), c=15.4080(7) Å, β=114.098(4)°, V=2542.3(2) Å3, Z=4, R=0.0323, wR=0.0846. The structure consists of ZnO4 tetrahedra, CoO6 octahedra and HPO3 pseudopyramids through their vertices forming bimetallic phosphite layers parallel to the ab plane. A sensitive method of Co(II) determination by adsorptive stripping voltammetry is presented. The method exploits the enhancement of cobalt peak current observed in the system Co(II)-nioxime-cetyltrimethylammonium bromide-piperazine-N,N′-bis(2-ethanesulfonic acid). The calibration plot for an accumulation time of 60 s is linear from 5 × 10−11 to 3 × 10−9 mol L−1. The relative standard deviation is 3.8% for Co(II) determination at concentration 1 × 10−9 mol L−1. The detection limit is 1.7 × 10−11 mol L−1. The validation of the method is performed by the analyses of certified reference materials and comparing the result of Co(II) determination in river water sample by the proposed method with those obtained by ET AAS. The main advantage of this new system is the micro-trace Co(II) determination by adsorptive stripping voltammetry, as compared to those described before, a low concentration of the supporting electrolyte used, and so commercially available reagents without additional purification can be used. 相似文献

The heptadentate Schiff base H3L reacts with cobalt(II) acetate in methanol to form the discrete dinuclear complex Co2L(OAc)2(OMe)(H2O)2 ( 1 ·2H2O). The reaction of 1 ·2H2O with NMe4OH·5H2O in methanol gives rise to displacement of the acetate by methanolate groups, yielding Co2L(OMe)3(H2O) ( 2 ·1H2O). Recrystallizations of the Schiff base, 1 ·2H2O and 2 ·H2O in different solvents, produce single crystals of H3L, 1 ·2.5H2O and 2 ·2MeOH, respectively. The crystal structures of 1 ·2.5H2O and 2 ·2MeOH show the cobalt atoms double bridged by and endogenous phenol oxygen atom and an exogenous methanolate oxygen donor, giving rise to Co2O2 cores with Co···Co distances of ca. 2.87 Å. 相似文献

Reactivity in the solid state between CoWO4 and some rare-earth metal tungstates RE2WO6 (RE = Sm, Eu, Gd) was investigated by the XRD method. Two families of new isostructural cobalt and rare-earth metal tungstates, Co2RE2W3O14 and CoRE4W3O16, were synthesized. The Co2RE2W3O14 phases are formed by heating in air the CoWO4 and RE2WO6 compounds mixed at the molar ratio 2:1, while the CoRE4W3O16 phases are synthesized at the molar ratio of CoWO4/RE2WO6 equals to 1:2. The Co2RE2W3O14 phases as well as the CoRE4W3O16 compounds crystallize in the orthorhombic system. The Co2RE2W3O14 and CoRE4W3O16 compound melt above 1150 °C. A melting manner of the Co2RE2W3O14 and CoRE4W3O16 compounds was determined in an inert atmosphere. The formation of CoWO4−x phase was observed during heating in an inert atmosphere. 相似文献

Thin cobalt alloy films have been obtained using electroless deposition solution with two reducing agents: dimethylamine borane
(DMAB) and sodium hypophosphite. This system allows spontaneous and self-activated deposition of barrier layers on Cu lines
and via contacts for ultra large scale integration (ULSI) interconnects applications. This work presents a study of the solution
composition effects on the material properties and composition of the films. First, we present the deposition rates, the electrical
resistance, the various element profiles in the thin film, and the thin film roughness. Next, we discuss the film’s composition
and its dependence on the ratio between the reducing agents composition in the solution. The experimental results suggest
that the film phosphorous and boron composition is determined by the surface adsorption rates of the reducing agents. Therefore,
a surface co-adsorption model of the two reducing agents is proposed, formulated, analyzed, and compared to the experimental
results. Finally, we discuss the model and its significance to the formation of high-quality ultra-thin barrier layers.
