Abstract

Laboratory measurements of the electrical conductivity of brine saturated acidic and metabasic rocks were done at confining pressures up to 0.2 GPa, high pore pressures and temperatures of 900°C. Acidic rocks showed conductivities insufficient to explain the lower crustal high conductivity layer. Basic rocks, however, showed conductivities consistent with the high conductivity layer at those temperatures that the layer is thought to possess.  相似文献

Abstract

A low-temperature high-pressure apparatus was designed using commercial cryogenic equipment. Pressures up to 1 GPa and temperatures down to 40 K can be obtained in a volume of up to 30 cm3. The apparatus is of the piston-cylinder type with a piston diameter of 45 mm, and the pressure can be varied at all temperatures, An adaptive temperature control system keeps the temperature inside the pressure cylinder constant to within ±0.1 K.  相似文献

Abstract

Vibrational spectra of face-centered cubical (f.c.c.) solids are investigated at the pressure region, where the quantum-statistical model for the electron energy is applicable. Phonon dispersion curves are obtained for different values of the specific volume. The integration of the phonon spectra over the Brillouin zone yields the zero-point vibrational energy, the Debye temperature, the Gruneisen coefficient, mean-square amplitude of zero-point and thermal vibration, the melting temperature. All quantities under consideration are calculated from the universal functions of the reduced volume, using the scaling relations for given atomic number 2.  相似文献

Abstract

Platinum is studied, theoretically, under very high compression. The calculated equation of state is found to agree well with the recent experimental data. At V/V0 = 0.4, where V0 is the experimental equilibrium volume, we find a transition from the face centered cubic structure (fcc), found at ambient pressure, to the body centered cubic structure (bcc). The calculated transition pressure is 26 Mbar. The stabilization of the bcc structure is explained by the eigen value sum.  相似文献

The displacive transition in La is studied in the pressure range up to 26 GPa and under temperatures up to 630 K with angular dispersive X-ray diffraction at the ESRF and with energy dispersive X-ray diffraction in HASYLAB to elucidate further details of this transition with an extension of the transition line up to 22.5(5) GPa and 590(10) K and a determination of the order parameter down to a level of η ≈=5· 10?4.  相似文献

Abstract

Neptunium and plutonium monosulfides were studied under high pressure up to ~60 GPa using a diamond anvil cell in an energy dispersive X-ray diffraction facility. The compounds, of cubic rock salt structure type at ambient pressure, do not show any crystallographic phase transition in the domain of investigation. From the pressure-volume relationship, we determined bulk moduli of 92 and 120 GPa with pressure derivatives of 4.6 and 4.1 for NpS and PUS respectively.  相似文献

The effective diffusion coefficient that gives a steady-state xenon concentration of 0.2-0.3wt% in the recrystallised grains of high burn-up UO 2 fuel is calculated to lie in the range 10 m 24 to 10 m 22 m 2 s m 1 . These values are one to three orders of magnitude lower than the value currently accepted for the radiation-enhanced diffusion coefficient. The time required to reach the steady-state concentration depends on the local fission rate, the grain size distribution and the precise magnitude of the radiation-enhanced diffusion coefficient, and can take from 2 to 10 years. Additional calculations reveal that substantially less than 10% of the fission gas inventory is released from the original UO 2 grains in the outer region of the fuel prior to recrystallisation. In contrast, with a diffusion coefficient of 10 m 22 m 2 s m 1 more than 80% of the fission gas is released from the recrystallised grains of the high burn-up structure in one year.  相似文献

Effects of the high pressure on the emission spectra of Eu3+-activated L-EuBO3 were considered at room temperature up to 100 kbar. The position of five 0–2 lines in the 5D07F2 transition region was determined. The pressure does not have the same effect on all these lines. In four of them, high pressure induced a red shift with different shift rates:+0.0022,+0.0035,+0.0034 and+0.0027 nm kbar?1, respectively, whereas in the last one, high pressure induced a blue shift with shift rate?0.0034 nm kbar?1. Possible reasons for the mentioned pressure effects on the line positions were considered.  相似文献

Abstract

The compression behaviour in a multi-anvil apparatus of pure NaCl and of a foil of Ni3Al embedded in a pressure medium of NaCl has been studied by energy-dispersive X-ray diffraction. At ambient temperature, the pressure and stresses, determined from line positions of NaCl, were constant throughout the sample chamber. Line positions and line widths of NaCl reflections were reversible on pressure release. A saturation of microstrains observed in NaCl at 2 GPa is thus attributed to brittle fracture setting in at uniaxial stresses of around 0.3 GPa. Ni3Al polycrystals, in contrast, undergo extensive (ductile) plastic deformation above 4 GPa. The compression behaviour of both Ni3Al and NaCl is identical to that previously determined in a diamond anvil cell. While a multi-anvil device thus has the advantage, compared with a diamond anvil cell, of constant pressure and stress throughout the sample chamber, microstrains in poly-crystalline samples arise in both devices. Samples in a multi-anvil apparatus thus need to be mixed with a pressure medium and to consist of essentially single crystals just as in a diamond anvil cell. Annealing experiments at high pressures confirm that the release of the uniaxial stress component in the pressure medium does not cause a release of microstrains in the embedded sample if the latter has been plastically deformed. Annealing for the purpose of attaining hydrostatic conditions in compression studies thus has to be carried out with care.  相似文献

Abstract

The paper deals with the influence of high pressure treatment of fresh egg white on its properties and protein composition (individual amino-acids predicted as a function of pressure and time levels). The rheological properties are changed by high pressure from Newtonian to non-Newtonian behaviour, with increasing apparent viscosity as the pressure and time increased. The pH, whipping ability, foam stability, gel strength of heat induced gels after treatment and the whole protein content, were also predicted.

The results showed that the foam stability is increased with increasing pressure and time of processing. The foam volume is also increased with pressure. The pH did not change with pressure or time of processing. Composition of proteins as indicated by individual amino-acids did not exhibit statistically important changes. Gel strength of heat induced gels prepared from previously pressured liquid whites showed no important change of values with pressure or time of treatment. The modulus of elasticity showed a decrease for samples pressured to 400 MPa for 5 up to 15 minutes.  相似文献
