Novel antibiotics: second generation macrocyclic peptides designed to trap Holliday junctions

Described are the syntheses of 15 macrocyclic peptides designed to trap Holliday junctions (HJs) in bacteria during site-specific and homologous recombination. This leads to inhibiting bacterial growth. These second generation macrocycles were based on the C-2 symmetrical HJ. They were synthesized using a strategy that permits elucidation of the amino acid role in binding HJs. The syntheses of these macrocycles are an important step in the development of a new class of antibiotics.     

5-(对羧基苯偶氮)-8-羟基喹啉与钍的显色反应及应用

研究了钍与5-(对羧基苯偶氮)-8-羟基喹啉(5-CPAHQ)的显色反应条件:在阳离子表面活性剂十六烷基三甲基溴化铵(CTMAB)存在下,pH4.4-5.4缓冲介质中,形成稳定的橙红色络合物,最大吸收波长为490nm,ε=1.10×105L·mol-1·cm-1,钍在0-9μg/25mL范围内符合比尔定律。用TBP萃淋树脂分离,该方法可用于测定矿石中的微量钍。     

苯磺酰苯胺类药物理化性能的研究

利用高效液相色谱和分光光度法，研究了新合成的5个苯磺酰苯胺类化合物的酸离解常数和脂溶性，结果表明，他们具有较弱的酸性和合适的脂溶性。预计会有较好的抗肝片吸虫活性。     

A chemoenzymatic synthesis of the linear triquinane (−)-hirsutene and identification of possible precursors to the naturally occurring (+)-enantiomer

An enantiomerically pure cis-1,2-dihydrocatechol, which is readily obtained via a toluene dioxygenase-mediated dihydroxylation of toluene in a whole-cell biotransformation process, has been converted over 17 steps into the linear triquinane (−)-hirsutene. Since the enantiomer of the starting material is also available this work constitutes a formal total synthesis of the naturally occurring (+)-form of hirsutene. Furthermore, minor modifications of the route used here offer the possibility of accessing (+)-hirsutene from the original starting material.     

Morphology and spectral properties of thin films of benzoxazole derivatives of biphenyl

We have studied the spectral properties and morphology of thin films (TVD films) formed by thermal vacuum deposition of 4,4′-bis[(E)-1-(1,3-benzoxazol-2-yl)-2-ethenyl]-1,1′-biphenyl and its substituted derivatives. We have shown that introducing bulky 2,2′-oxyhexyl substituents into the biphenyl units leads to a shift of the fluorescence maximum for the TVD films toward shorter wavelengths, a decrease in their photostability, and aggregation of the films during storage. __________ Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Spektroskopii, Vol. 74, No. 3, pp. 300–303, May–June, 2007.     

多电子束契伦柯夫自由电子激光振荡器

我们对多电子束契伦柯夫自由电子激光进行了首次实验研究。280A,500kV的电子束被引入一多介质矩形谐振腔,在频率为33.4GHz处产生了1.7MW的契伦柯夫相干受激辐射。互作用效率为1.2％。     

镁掺杂对In2O3电导和气敏性能的影响

用共沉淀法制备了Mg2 + 掺杂的In2 O3 纳米粉 ,研究了镁掺杂对In2 O3 电导和气敏性能的影响 .结果表明 :MgO和In2 O3 间可形成有限固溶体In2 -xMgxO3 (0≤x≤ 0 .40 ) ;MgIn× 电离的空穴对材料导带电子的湮灭 ,使掺镁纳米粉的电导变得很小 ;n(Mg2 + )∶n(In3 + ) =1∶2共沉淀物于 90 0℃下热处理 4h ,用所得的纳米粉制作的传感器在 32 0～ 370℃下 ,对 45 μmol/LC2 H5OH的灵敏度达 10 2 .5 ,为相同浓度干扰气体Petrol的 12倍多 .     

An amylopectin tris(phenylcarbamate) chiral stationary phase for high performance liquid chromatography

Amylopectin tris(phenylcarbamate) has been evaluated as a chiral stationary phase for HPLC; the influence on its cptical resolving capabilities of mobile phase composition and nature of the alcohol used as modifier has been studied. Separation and resolution of twelve arylalcohol racemates were examined. In most instances, the stationary phase exhibited high optical resolving capacity.     

Statistical mechanics of warm and cold unfolding in proteins

We present a statistical mechanics treatment of the stability of globular proteins which takes explicitly into account the coupling between the protein and water degrees of freedom. This allows us to describe both the cold and the warm unfolding, thus qualitatively reproducing the known thermodynamics of proteins. Received: 19 March 1998 / Revised and Accepted: 25 May 1998     

Anomalies of attenuation and phase velocity of surface acoustic waves in YBa2Cu3O7‒δ thin films in the vicinity of Tc

We present measurements of the attenuation and phase velocity of surface acoustic waves in thin YBa₂Cu₃O films as a function of temperature, in magnetic fields up to 3.6 T applied parallel to the c-axis of the films. We have observed anomalies in both, the attenuation and the phase velocity in the vicinity of the superconducting critical temperature which do not depend on the magnetic field. Possible origins of these anomalies, observed, to our knowledge, for the first time in YBa₂Cu₃O thin films, are discussed and compared to bulk acoustic wave experiments. We present a kind of feedback technique for surface acoustic waves which improves the sensitivity of this type of measurement. The actual sensitivity limits are mentioned.
