A Novel N-Tert-Butyl Derivatives of Pseudothiohydantoin as Potential Target in Anti-Cancer Therapy

Tumors are currently more and more common all over the world; hence, attempts are being made to explain the biochemical processes underlying their development. The search for new therapeutic pathways, with particular emphasis on enzymatic activity and its modulation regulating the level of glucocorticosteroids, may contribute to the development and implementation of new therapeutic options in the treatment process. Our research focuses on understanding the role of 11β-HSD1 and 11β-HSD2 as factors involved in the differentiation and proliferation of neoplastic cells. In this work, we obtained the 9 novel N-tert-butyl substituted 2-aminothiazol-4(5H)-one (pseudothiohydantoin) derivatives, differing in the substituents at C-5 of the thiazole ring. The inhibitory activity and selectivity of the obtained derivatives in relation to two isoforms of 11β-HSD were evaluated. The highest inhibitory activity for 11β-HSD1 showed compound 3h, containing the cyclohexane substituent at the 5-position of the thiazole ring in the spiro system (82.5% at a conc. 10 µM). On the other hand, the derivative 3f with the phenyl substituent at C-5 showed the highest inhibition of 11β-HSD2 (53.57% at a conc. of 10 µM). A low selectivity in the inhibition of 11β-HSD2 was observed but, unlike 18β-glycyrrhetinic acid, these compounds were found to inhibit the activity of 11β-HSD2 to a greater extent than 11β-HSD1, which makes them attractive for further research on their anti-cancer activity.     

Spectral probing of carrier traps in Si–Ge alloy nanocrystals

Photogenerated carriers in Si–Ge alloy nanocrystals (NCs) prepared by co‐sputtering method were investigated by mean of transient induced absorption. The carrier relaxation features multiple components, with three decay life times of τ ≈ 600 fs, 12 ps, and 15 ns, established for Si_0.2Ge_0.8 alloy NCs of a mean crystal size of 9 nm and standard deviation of 3 nm. Deep carrier traps, identified at the boundary between the NCs and the SiO₂ host with the ionization energy of about 1 eV, are characterized by a long‐range Coulombic potential. These are responsible for rapid depletion of free carrier population within a few picoseconds after the excitation, which explains the low emissivity of the investigated materials, and also sheds light on the generally low luminescence of Si/Ge and Ge NCs. Decay rate with coordinate-dependent diffusion coefficients

Using a master equation for the reduced density matrix of open quantum system, the influence of coordinate-dependent microscopical diffusion coefficients on the decay rate from a potential well is studied. For different temperatures, frictions, heights of barrier and ratios of stiffnesses of the potential in the minimum and on the top of the barrier, the quasistationary decay rates are obtained with the sets of coordinate-dependent and -independent microscopical diffusion coefficients, and coordinate-dependent phenomenological diffusion coefficients.     

Trapping neutral fermions with a PT-symmetric trigonometric potential in the presence of position-dependent mass

The relativistic problem of neutral fermions subject to PT-symmetric trigonometric potential (∼iαtanαx)$(\sim \mathrm{i}\alpha \tan \alpha x)$ in 1+1$1+1$ dimensions is investigated. By using the basic concepts of the supersymmetric quantum mechanics formalism and the functional analysis method, we solve exactly the position-dependent effective mass Dirac equation with the vector coupling scheme and obtain the bound state solutions in closed form. The behavior of the energy spectra is discussed in detail.     

Studies on crystal transition of polyamide 11 nanocomposites by variable-temperature X-ray diffraction

Polyamide I1 （PAll） and its nanocomposites with different organoclay loadings were prepared by melt-compounding and subsequent pelletizing. The crystal phase transitions of PAl 1 and its clay nanocomposites were investigated by variable-temperature X-ray diffraction. It was found that the Brill transition of the nanocomposite was 20 K higher than that of the neat PAl 1 for both heating and cooling processes. The PAl 1 d-spacings of the nanocomposites were observed to be smaller than those of the neat PAl 1 for melt crystallization. The constraints imposed by the addition of layered clay, restricting the thermal expansion of the polymer chains, are probably responsible for such a reduction of the d-spacing.     

Design,Synthesis, and Structure–Activity Relationship Study of Potent MAPK11 Inhibitors

Huntington’s disease (HD) is a rare single-gene neurodegenerative disease, which can only be treated symptomatically. Currently, there are no approved drugs for HD on the market. Studies have found that MAPK11 can serve as a potential therapeutic target for HD. Regrettably, no MAPK11 small molecule inhibitors have been approved at present. This paper presents three series of compounds that were designed and synthesized based on the structure of skepinone-L, a known MAPK14 inhibitor. Among the synthesized compounds, 13a and 13b, with IC₅₀ values of 6.40 nM and 4.20 nM, respectively, displayed the best inhibitory activities against MAPK11. Furthermore, the structure–activity relationship (SAR) is discussed in detail, which is constructive in optimizing the MAPK11 inhibitors for better activity and effect against HD.

A New Porous Cadmium(Ⅱ) Complex Based on 1,10-Phenanthroline Derivative and Dicarboxylate:Syntheses,Structure, Thermal Behavior and Luminescence

A new porous Cd(Ⅱ) coordination compound, namely, [Cd(bpdc)(L)2]·3H2O(1, L = 11-fluoro-dipyrido[3,2-a:2,3-c]phenazine and bpdc = 1,1-biphenyl-2,2-dicarboxylate) was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions, and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in tetragonal, space group P4122 with a = 9.8486(4), b = 9.8486(4), c = 45.925(4)A, V = 4454.5(5) 3, Z = 4, C50H29 Cd F2N8O7, Mr = 1004.21, Dc = 1.497 g/cm3, F(000) = 2028, μ(Mo Ka) = 0.562 mm-1, R = 0.0566 and w R = 0.1585. Each Cd(Ⅱ) atom is coordinated by one bpdc anion and two L ligands to give a discrete molecule. Neighboring discrete molecules are stacked by π-π interactions among L ligands, resulting in an interesting 1D supramolecular chain. Moreover, the 1D supramolecular chains are packed with each other to give a porous structure, in which an infinite channel is filled with water molecules. In addition, the thermal behavior and luminescent property of 1 have also been studied.     

影响SAPO－11分子筛焙烧前后晶胞空间群变化的因素

 从合成参数出发，详细考察了不同因素对SAPO－11分子筛焙烧前后晶胞空间群变化的影响．发现成胶方式、成胶温度、模板剂组成、晶化温度、晶化时间及分子筛产物组成均是影响分子筛晶胞空间群变化的因素．MAS－NMR分析结果表明，分子筛的微观结构决定了分子筛晶胞空间群的变化，Si（4Si）区增加，分子筛保持为Icm2空间群的趋势增强．     

用N-263从钒溶液中回收钒

测定了N－263对钒的饱和萃取容量，考察了萃取容量与溶液中钒阴离子离子状态的关系及各种因素对N－263萃取钒的影响，作了萃取平衡图，拟定了用萃取法从含钒溶液中提取钒的工艺流程。
