Theory of parabolic differential inequalities, flow-invariance of solutions and comparison theorems are discussed relative to a cone.

In this paper we investigate the theory of parabolic differential inequalities in arbitrary cones. After discussing the fundamental results concerning parabolic inequalities in cones, we prove a result on flow-invariance which is then used to obtain a comparison theorem. This comparison result is useful in deriving upper and lower bounds on solutions of parabolic differential equations in terms of the solutions of ordinary differential equations. We treat the Dirichlet problem in this paper since its theory follows the general pattern of ordinary differential equations and requires less restrictive assumptions. The treatment of Neumann problem, on the other hand, demands stronger smoothness assumptions and depends heavily on strong maximum principle. The study of the corresponding results relative to Neumann problem is discussed elsewhere.  相似文献

A novel method called semi-discretization is employed in the formulation of discrete-time analogues of nonlinear delayed differential equations modelling cellular neural networks. The dynamical characteristics of the discrete-time analogues are studied. When the network parameters satisfy certain sufficient conditions which are independent of the delays, the discrete-time analogues for any choice on the discretization step-size are shown to be globally exponentially stable. The sufficient conditions are obtained by employing an appropriate form of Lyapunov sequences and these conditions correspond to those which have been obtained in the literature for the global exponential stability of continuous-time delayed cellular neural networks. Several examples and computer simulations are given to support our results and to demonstrate some of the advantages of the discrete-time analogues in numerically simulating their continuous-time counterparts.  相似文献

In this short note, we consider attenuant cycles of population models. This study concerns the second conjecture of Cushing and Henson [A periodically forced Beverton-Holt equation, J. Diff. Eq. Appl., 8 (2002), pp. 1119–1120], which was recently resolved affirmatively by Elaydi and Sacker [Global stability of periodic orbits of nonautonomous difference equations in population biology and the Cushing-Henson conjectures, Proc. 8th Inter. Conf. Diff. Eq., Brno, (in press)]. They showed that the periodic fluctuations in the carrying capacity always reduce the average of population densities in the Beverton-Holt equation. We extend this result and give a class of population models in which the periodic fluctuations in the carrying capacity always reduce the average of population densities.  相似文献

In this Letter, by utilizing the Lyapunov functional and combining with the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach, we analyze the global asymptotic stability of uncertain stochastic fuzzy Bidirectional Associative Memory (BAM) neural networks with time-varying delays which are represented by the Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy models. A new class of uncertain stochastic fuzzy BAM neural networks with time varying delays has been studied and sufficient conditions have been derived to obtain conservative result in stochastic settings. The developed results are more general than those reported in the earlier literatures. In addition, the numerical examples are provided to illustrate the applicability of the result using LMI toolbox in MATLAB.  相似文献

This Letter is concerned with stability analysis problem for uncertain stochastic neural networks with discrete interval and distributed time-varying delays. The parameter uncertainties are assumed to be norm bounded and the delay is assumed to be time-varying and belong to a given interval, which means that the lower and upper bounds of interval time-varying delays are available. Based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and stochastic stability theory, delay-interval dependent stability criteria are obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Some stability criteria are formulated by means of the feasibility of a linear matrix inequality (LMI) and by introducing some free-weighting matrices. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the less conservatism and effectiveness of the proposed LMI conditions.  相似文献

利用密度泛函理论(DFT)研究了一种新颖的准球形纳米团簇B92.经过结构优化和频率分析,这一准球形笼状团簇的直径为0.968 nm,其结构满足Eoustani提出的"Aufbau principle".团簇B92的平均结合能、能隙(HOMO-LUMO gap)、垂直电离势(VIP)及垂直电子亲和势(VEA)分别为5.28 eV,1.19 eV,5.47eV及2.45 eV.计算所得到的红外谱(IR)上有一个明显的峰在895 Cm-1处.此谱将有助于从实验上确定本文所提出的团簇B92的结构,团簇B92的电荷分布表明,其有望成为未来纳米电子学中的一种电容器,另外,作为比较,本文也给出了其他一些笼状硼团簇的性质.  相似文献
