The activity of fused silica capillary tubing has been shown to vary considerably, which severely influences the reproducibility of column deactivation and inertness. Methods for producing a reproducible, high activity surface with maximum hydroxylation by various hydrothermal treatments were evaluated. Columns pretreated with 20% nitric acid at 200°C for 10 hours, deactivated with D4, coated with OV-73, and crosslinked with azo-tert-butane were found to possess excellent inertness for sensitive analytes such as alcohols, amines, and alkaloid drugs. 相似文献

The construction and evaluation of an interface for two-dimensional gas chromatography is described. The interface consists of commercially available components and is attachable to available gas chromatographs without any major modifications. The interface has been constructed so as to permit “heartcutting” as well as solute band concentration. Trapping is performed in a simple cold trap of fused silica. Conventional analysis using quantile regression typically focuses on fitting the regression model at different quantiles separately. However, in situations where the quantile coefficients share some common feature, joint modeling of multiple quantiles to accommodate the commonality often leads to more efficient estimation. One example of common features is that a predictor may have a constant effect over one region of quantile levels but varying effects in other regions. To automatically perform estimation and detection of the interquantile commonality, we develop two penalization methods. When the quantile slope coefficients indeed do not change across quantile levels, the proposed methods will shrink the slopes toward constant and thus improve the estimation efficiency. We establish the oracle properties of the two proposed penalization methods. Through numerical investigations, we demonstrate that the proposed methods lead to estimations with competitive or higher efficiency than the standard quantile regression estimation in finite samples. A simple visual method for DNA detection during the formation of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) was developed based on different electrostatic properties of single strand DNA (ssDNA) and double strand DNA (dsDNA). Since the ssDNA is easy to bind to AuNPs due to its exposed bases which could prevent salt-induced aggregation of AuNPs. The dsDNA always present negative charge because its negatively charged phosphate backbone is exposed. In this case, the dsDNA could disturb the adsorption between dsDNA and AuNPs and result in non-aggregation of AuNPs. After hybridization, chloroauric acid and ascorbic acid were added to the mixture solution, and the solution changed to red immediately and turned to purple in 10 min in the present of target DNA. TEM results confirmed that the change of color stemed from aggregation of AuNPs. In order to obtain accurate results by naked eye, the DNA detection assay should be conducted under pH 7.0. 相似文献

An efficient and high yielding methodology developed for the synthesis of fused 7‐azaindole derivatives via one pot multicomponent assembly process of cyclic 1,3‐dicarbonyls with substituted aldehydes and 5‐amino‐1‐tert‐butyl‐1H‐pyrrole‐3‐carbonitrile. The transformation occurs via domino Knoevenagel‐ Michael reaction followed by intramolecular cyclization in the presence of catalytic amount of InCl3 (10 mol %). Mild reaction conditions, easy isolation of products, and good to excellent yields in a shorter period of time are the silent features of present methodology. Nanoparticle (NP) surfaces are modified immediately by the adsorption of proteins when injected into human blood, leading to the formation of a protein corona. The protein‐coated NPs may be recognized by living cells. Furthermore, the adsorption of serum proteins is a continuous competitive dynamic process that is the key to exploring the bioapplication and biosafety of NPs. In this study, the competitive dynamic adsorption of some serum proteins on gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) is investigated by fluorescence emission, dynamic light scattering, and sodium dodecyl sulfate‐polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Serum proteins with different AuNPs binding affinities are used to address the competitive dynamic process of protein‐AuNP interactions in vitro. The results show that more abundant serum proteins, such as human serum albumin, adsorb on AuNPs first, and then the higher binding affinity and lower concentration serum proteins, such as fibrinogen (FIB), replace the abundant and lower binding affinity serum proteins. However, the lower binding affinity serum proteins, such as hemoglobin, do not replace the higher binding affinity proteins from the protein‐AuNP conjugates. During the dynamic exchange process, the larger the binding affinities difference between two proteins, the faster the exchange rate. This dynamic exchange process usually takes longer in inner protein‐AuNP conjugates (hard corona) than the external surface of protein‐AuNP conjugates (soft corona). 相似文献

Herein we present results on the femtosecond laser direct writing and optical characterization studies of two dimensional gratings in fused silica, GE 124, and Foturan™ glasses. Varieties of structures were achieved with varying input energy and spatial orientation of the samples. Various characterization techniques including fluorescence spectroscopy, micro-Raman spectroscopy, and laser confocal microscopy were employed to analyze the structural and physical modifications at the focal volume resulting in change of refractive index. Diffraction efficiencies of 9–12% were observed from the grating structures. A broad-band emission was observed in the laser-modified region of the Foturan glass. The obtained results are analyzed in the light of recent work in similar glasses and exploring the applications of such structures in the fields of photonics. 相似文献
