Comment on: “Estimating the Hartree–Fock limit from finite basis set calculations” [Jensen F (2005) Theor Chem Acc 113:267]

We demonstrate that a minor modification of the extrapolation proposed by Jensen [(2005): Theor Chem Acc 113: 267] yields very reliable estimates of the Hartree–Fock limit in conjunction with correlation consistent basis sets. Specifically, a two-point extrapolation of the form yields HF limits E _HF,∞ with an RMS error of 0.1 millihartree using aug-cc-pVQZ and aug-cc-pV5Z basis sets, and of 0.01 millihartree using aug-cc-pV5Z and aug-cc-pV6Z basis sets.     

Frequently hypercyclic operators

We investigate the subject of linear dynamics by studying the notion of frequent hypercyclicity for bounded operators on separable complex -spaces: is frequently hypercyclic if there exists a vector such that for every nonempty open subset of , the set of integers such that belongs to has positive lower density. We give several criteria for frequent hypercyclicity, and this leads us in particular to study linear transformations from the point of view of ergodic theory. Several other topics which are classical in hypercyclicity theory are also investigated in the frequent hypercyclicity setting.

     

Continuity and Schatten-von Neumann p-class membership of Hankel operators with anti-holomorphic symbols on (generalized) Fock spaces

In this paper we investigate Hankel operators with anti-holomorphic symbols ∈L²(C,m|z|), where are general Fock spaces. We will show that is not continuous if the corresponding symbol is not a polynomial . For polynomial symbols we will give necessary and sufficient conditions for continuity and compactness in terms of N and m. For monomials we will give a complete characterization of the Schatten-von Neumann p-class membership for p>0. Namely in case 2k<m the Hankel operators are in the Schatten-von Neumann p-class iff p>2m/(m−2k); and in case 2k?m they are not in the Schatten-von Neumann p-class.     

Matricially free random variables

We show that the framework developed by Voiculescu for free random variables can be extended to arrays of random variables whose multiplication imitates matricial multiplication. The associated notion of independence, called matricial freeness, can be viewed as a concept which not only leads to a natural generalization of freeness, but also underlies other fundamental types of noncommutative independence, such as monotone independence and boolean independence. At the same time, the sums of matricially free random variables, called random pseudomatrices, are closely related to random matrices. The main results presented in this paper concern the standard and tracial central limit theorems for random pseudomatrices and the corresponding limit distributions which can be viewed as matricial semicircle laws.     

Berezin transform on the harmonic Fock space

We show that the Berezin transform associated to the harmonic Fock (Segal-Bargmann) space on Cn has an asymptotic expansion analogously as in the holomorphic case. The proof involves a computation of the reproducing kernel, which turns out to be given by one of Horn's hypergeometric functions of two variables, and an ad hoc determination of the asymptotic behaviour of the resulting integrals, to which the ordinary stationary phase method is not directly applicable.     

Summability properties of Gabor expansions

We show that there exist complete and minimal systems of time-frequency shifts of Gaussians in $L^2(\mathbb{R})$ which are not strong Markushevich basis (do not admit the spectral synthesis). In particular, it implies that there is no linear summation method for general Gaussian Gabor expansions. On the other hand we prove that the spectral synthesis for such Gabor systems holds up to one dimensional defect.     

NORM CALCULATIONS OF A CLASS OF INTEGRAL OPERATORS

In this paper we calculate the norm of a special class of integral operators acting on LP （C^n, dvs）, where dvs is the Gaussian measure on C^n.
