Tracks made in minerals by the electronic stopping of uranium fission fragments provide a modern geological dating tool, and are believed also to yield specific information on the low-temperature thermal history of rocks. Experimental work showing that the damaged crystal lattice along a fission track recovers primarily as a function of temperature ignored the fact that the basic theory of atomic diffusion requires an exponential decrease in the intrinsic diffusion coefficient with increasing pressure. Here, fission track recovery was experimentally investigated in basic apatite under the simultaneous influences of temperature, pressure and stress. We show that track fading is a complex recovery mechanism responding to several environmental physical parameters simultaneously. In particular a strong decrease in the track recovery rate was observed as a function of increasing pressure. And a nearly temperature-independent recovery was observed in samples under stress.  相似文献

Taking both the heterogeneous catalytic processes, including the surface formation of particles with excited internal degrees of freedom, and the processes of multicomponent diffusion and heat transfer in the MESOX apparatus fully into account makes it possible to obtain a recombination coefficient and an accommodation coefficient of the oxygen-atoms-on-quartz recombination energy which are in good agreement with the experimental data. The heterogeneous catalysis model constructed can be used effectively for predicting the heat fluxes to the surface of reentry vehicles on their entry into the Earth’s atmosphere.  相似文献

The solid-phase oxidation of cinnamic, 4-methoxy- and 3,4-dimethoxycinnamic acids with Ce(NH4)2(NO3)6—MHal system leads to β-halostyrenes. Similar procedure in the absence of a metal halide results in a cleavage of the C=C bond giving the corresponding benzaldehydes. Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. The phenomenological amplitude for the reaction πN→ππN fixed by fittings to the experimental data in the energy region 0.300 ≤P Lab≤ 500 MeV/c is used for modelling the Chew–Low extrapolation and Olsson–Turner threshold approach. It is shown that the uncritical application of the former results in enermous theoretical errors, the extracted values being in fact random numbers. The results of the Olsson–Turner method are characterized by significant systematic errors coming from unknown details of the isobar physics. Received: 10 December 1997  相似文献

We summarize some recent results related to fluctuation-induced kinetics of diffusion-controlled processes. We show that kinetic behavior can be drastically changed due to fluctuation effects, spatial correlations between particles, and anomalous transport properties. In addition, we show that correlation-induced kinetics in some systems can govern the temporal evolution over the entire time domain.  相似文献

The conditions for macroscopic segregation ofA andB in a steady-stateA+B 0 reaction are studied in infinite systems. Segregation occurs in one and two dimensions and is marginal ford=3. We note the dependence of these results on the precise experimental conditions assumed in the theory. Ternary Fission     
In this review paper, ternary fission is defined as the break-up of heavy nuclei into three fragments of approximately equal mass. This relatively new type of nuclear decay has been investigated intensively during the last decade. Muga has studied ternary fission induced by thermal neutrons in uranium. The results of his experiments are discussed in detail. Ternary fission can definitely be observed and studied in the interaction of heavy target elements with 39 MeV alpha particles, 20 GeV protons, and 300—400MeV argon ions. The ratio of binary-to-binary fission for uranium is approximately 10?4: 100 in the interaction of 39 MeV alpha particles, approximately 0.1:100 for 20 GeV protons, and 3:100 for 400MeV argon ions. A theoretical model for the interpretation of ternary fission, the “cascade model”, is described. The paper concludes with a discussion of the possible connection of ternary fission with the production and decay of still undiscovered super-heavy elements (Z = 114).  相似文献

There are many methods available for the detection of nucleotide variations in genetic material. Most of these methods are applied after amplification of the target genome sequence by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Many efforts are currently underway to develop techniques that can detect single nucleotide variations in genes either by means of, or without the need for, PCR. Allele-specific PCR (asPCR), which reports nucleotide variations based on either the presence or absence of a PCR-amplified DNA product, has the potential to combine target amplification and analysis in one single step. The principle of asPCR is based on the formation of matched or mismatched primer-target complexes by using allele-specific primer probes. PCR amplification by a DNA polymerase from matched 3'-primer termini proceeds, whereas a mismatch should obviate amplification. Given the recent advancements in real-time PCR, this technique should, in principle, allow single nucleotide variations to be detected online. However, this method is hampered by low selectivity, which necessitates tedious and costly manipulations. Recently, we reported that the selectivity of asPCR can be significantly increased through the employment of chemically modified primer probes. Here we report further significant advances in this area. We describe the synthesis of various primer probes that bear polar 4'-C-modified nucleotide residues at their 3' termini, and their evaluation in real-time asPCR. We found that primer probes bearing a 4'-C-methoxymethylene modification have superior properties in the discrimination of single nucleotide variations by PCR.  相似文献

The reactions of a new cationic complex, [Cp(CO)2Mo(η4-2-methyl-3-SPh-C4H4)]+ PF?6 (3), with carbon, hydride, and nitrogen nucleophiles were found to give only the C-1 addition products in good yield. The X-ray crystal structures of two of the addition products 4a and 4e confirm the regio- and stereochemistry of the nucleophilic additions.  相似文献
