Experimental and numerical results for binding Aedes aegypti densonucleosis virus (AeDNV) using anion and cation exchange membranes are presented. AeDNV particles are adsorbed by anion and cation exchange membranes providing the virus particles and membranes are oppositely charged. Q membranes which are strongly basic anion exchangers were the most effective. Dynamic and static capacities for Q membranes were found to be similar. A numerical model is proposed which assumes a log normal pore size distribution. By estimating the required parameters from static binding experiments, the model may be used to calculate the breakthrough curve for virus adsorption.  相似文献

A potentiometric poly(vinyl chloride) membrane sensor for determination of saccharin is described. It is based on the use of Aliquat 336S-saccharinateion-pair as an electroactive material in plasticized PVC membranes with o-nitrophenyloctylether or dioctylphthalate. The sensor is conditioned for at least two days in 0.1 mol L−1 sodium saccharinate before use. It exhibits fast, stable and Nernstian response for saccharinate ions over the concentration range of 1.0 × 10−1–5.0 × 10−5 mol L−1 and pH range of 4.5–11. The sensor is used for determination of saccharin in some dosage forms. Results with an average recovery of 101% and a mean standard deviation of 0.2% are obtained which is compared favourably with data obtained using the British pharmacopoeia method. The sensor shows reasonable selectivity towards saccharin in presence of many anions and natural sweeteners.  相似文献

The preparation and potentiometric pH response properties of membranes formulated with various aminated-poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-NH2) products are described. Products containing secondary and/or primary amino functional groups are obtained by modifying PVC with mono- and/or diamines, respectively. Blank membranes prepared with either type of aminated-polymer exhibit nearly Nernstian potentiometric pH responses over different pH ranges. In general, membranes based on diamino products exhibit pH response over a wider range (5–10.5) than membranes formulated with monoamino products (<8.0). These potentiometric results are used to estimate the basicity of the various primary and secondary amino sites in the membrane phases.Dedicated to Professer W. New diamino monomers IIa – IIg were synthesized in a two-step reaction sequence starting from p-acetamidobenzenesulfonyl chloride. Solution polymerization of these monomers in DMAC with terephthaloyl or isophthaloyl chloride resulted in the formation of a series of 14 poly(amide sulfonamide)s (PASAs) in excellent yield (> 95%). The polymers have in-trinsic viscosities of 0.32–1.11 dL g?1. Except for polymers IIIa ? p and IIId - p , all other PASAs were readily soluble in aprotic polar solvents including DMAC, DMF, and DMSO. Thermogravimetric analyses of the polymers showed moderate thermal stability with 10% weight loss being recorded in the range of 325–408°C. In addition, these polymers exhibit moderate chemical stabilities toward alkali, acidic, and chromic acid solution. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

New calix[4]arenes, di- and tetrasubstituted at the lower rim, with different functional groups were synthesized. They were studied as carriers of a series of dicarboxylic and -hydroxycarboxylic acids through a liquid impregnated membrane. The calix[4]arenes under study are capable of molecular recognition of oxalic acid in the series of structurally similar dicarboxylic and -hydroxycarboxylic acids. The regularities found make it possible to change purposefully the receptor ability of 1,3-disubstituted calix[4]arenes by variation of the nature of substituents.  相似文献

In this study, porous glass fiber membranes were coated with monophenyl trimethoxysilane (MPh) and then sulphonated by chlorosulphonic acid to prepare the cation-exchange membranes with sulphonic acid groups. Different MPh-coating times were tested and the properties of the resulting membranes such as contact angle, FTIR spectrum, conductivity, and ion-exchange capacity were measured. It was found that the optimal MPh-coating time was 60 min and the related ion-exchange capacity was 49.5 μequiv./disc. The modified membrane under the optimal MPh-coating condition was adopted for lysozyme isolation. The results were compared with those for the commercial cation-exchange membrane with sulphonic acid groups (ICE 450 unsupported membrane). Although the prepared membrane exhibited less adsorption capacity than ICE 450 unsupported membrane in the batch lysozyme adsorption experiment, it showed lower non-specific binding ratio under higher salt concentration. In the flow process isolating lysozyme from hen egg albumen, the purification effectiveness obtained using the prepared cation-exchange membrane was superior to the ICE 450 unsupported membrane.  相似文献

Cholesteric liquid crystalline triheptyl cellulose (THC)/ethyl cellulose binary blend membranes were prepared and the effect of pressure on their oxygen enrichment at elevated temperature was investigated using a constant pressure-variable volume method. The oxygen enrichment increased with the increase of transmembrane pressure difference or with slight increase of the THC content in the blend membranes. The oxygen concentration through the membranes increased linearly with decreasing pressure ratio. Air was directly separated through a 17 m-thick THC/EC(1.5/98.5) membrane to prepare an oxygen-enriched air containing 39.5% oxygen at the flux of 6.99×10–4 cm3 (STP)/s.cm2 at the pressure difference of 0.43 MPa and 85 °C.  相似文献
