Ab initio projected-unrestricted Hartree-Fock calculations have been carried out on a number of excited and ionic states of the water molecule. Results have been compared with large-scale CI calculations, with IVO calculations, and with those of Mrozek and Golebiewski obtained by the 2 × 2 rotation method applied to orbitals. It is concluded that the PUHF method may provide the most useful alternative to large-scale CI for calculating properties of open-shell systems. But it will not be generally useful for calculating spectral transition energies.  相似文献

IR spectra of M(1,4-diaminobutane)Ni(CN)4° 1.5C6H6 (M = Mn, Fe, or Co), and IR and Raman spectra of M(1,4-diaminobutane)Ni(CN)4° 1.5C6H6 (M = Ni or Cd) clathrates are reported. The spectral features suggest that the compounds are similar in structure to the Hofmann-dabn-type clathrates.  相似文献

Anab initio study of the relative stability for the states2 A 1g and2 E g of C2H 6 + has been carried out. The results of the Open Shell Restricted Hartree-Fock calculations lead to assign the2 A 1 g as the ground state of the molecule in agreement with previous SCF calculations.The correlation energy associated to both states has been calculated within the correlation hole model and the results, contrary to those obtained from Configuration Interaction calculations, do not alter qualitatively the conclusions from SCF.  相似文献

A miniaturised technique to analyse and detect heterocyclic aromatic amines (HAs) using micro solid-phase extraction (SPE) coupled on-line (in-capillary) to capillary electrophoresis (CE) separation with nanospray (nESI) mass spectrometry (MS) detection has been developed. HAs are mutagenic and carcinogenic compounds formed at low levels in protein-rich food during cooking. Due to the low concentrations of HAs and the high complexity of the matrix in which they exist, sensitive and selective analytical methods are required for quantification. SPE was performed on a packed bed of C18 particles inside the CE capillary, which minimised the dead volume. The on-line coupling of SPE, CE and nESI-MS reduced the time for extraction and identification to less than half an hour, which will allow for screening of several samples per day. The new technique provides short analysis time, low sample and solvent consumption, and HAs in standard solutions were easily detected at 12–17 fmol injections, and in spiked urine samples at 750–810 fmol injections.  相似文献

Summary Using a two-step liquid chromatographic separation on normalphase cartridges, crude extracts of diesel particulate matter can be separated without time-consuming sample handling into special fractions which mainly contain slightly-polar oxygenated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (oxy-PAH) and nitrated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (nitro-PAH). Subsequent analysis was by fused-silica capillary gas chromatography on a SE54 column along with flame-ionisation (GC/FID) and positive-ion electron-impact mass spectrometric detection (GC/MS) respectively. A number of individual oxy-PAH belonging to four different chemical classes (ketones, quinones, anhydrides and aldehydes) and several individual nitro-PAH were characterized by their retention times and mass spectra. Calculations were performed to investigate the reliabilities of the CNDO/2, PRDDO, and MNDO approximate molecular orbital methods. Systems selected for study included the linear, cyclic, and bifurcated dimers of water as well as the linear and cyclic dimers of HCN. The PRDDO method was found to provide the most consistently accurate reproduction of ab initio and experimental data. CNDO/2 performed fairly well in a number of cases but yielded extremely poor results for the cyclic dimers of both H2O and HCN. Hydrogen bond strengths were consistently underestimated by MNDO which also furnished erroneously large intermolecular separations. In addition, MNDO calculations indicate the bifurcated water dimer to be most stable in contrast to other quantum mechanical and experimental information.See Ref. Weakly bound linear and bent dimers, FH—X (where X = CO, OC, CNH, NCH, N2O and ON2), are investigated using the DFT B3LYP and ab initio MP2 methods with the same basis sets (6–311++G(3df,2pd)). The strengths of the H—C or H—N H‐bonds in dimers FH—CO, FH—CNH, and FH—N2O are compared with those of the H—O or H—N H‐bonds in dimers FH—OC, FH—NCH, and FH—ON2. The results obtained for the H‐bond distances, the elongation effect of the HF bond, the red shift of the HF stretching frequency, and the energy difference between the dimer and the charge transfer reveal that the H‐bonds of the first group of dimers are stronger than those of the second. The Gibbs energies calculated for the six dimer formations indicate that the weakly bound dimers are unstable at room temperature (T = 298 K) (FH—X's → FH + X's, ΔG < 0).  相似文献

MCM-48 membranes have been prepared on alumina supports of different pore sizes. A battery of characterization techniques has been used to study the physical properties and the quality of the membranes prepared. The highest quality membranes were prepared on supports with pore size of up to 60 nm. The MCM-48 membranes were tested in the separation of gas phase mixtures and a cyclohexane/O2 selectivity higher than 270 was obtained. The selective separation of organic compounds from inert components is a result of the cooperative effects of capillary condensation in MCM-48 pores and of the specific interactions of the permeating compounds and the membrane material.  相似文献
