3-Amino-1,2,4-triazole (amitrole) is a widely used pesticide, with many difficulties to be analyzed at the regulatory level in drinking water, because its high solubility in water. This paper describes a simple and fast method for the simultaneous determination of amitrole and atrazin-2-hydroxy, principal degradation product of s-triazines, by capillary zone electrophoresis. Separation and determination of these herbicides in water samples was performed in 0.02 mol l−1 phosphate buffer at pH 3.2. The method allows determination of the amitrole and atrazin-2-hydroxy in water samples in concentration lower than 100 μg l−1. The detection limits using a previous preconcentration step of amitrole in Alberche River (Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain) and drinking water spiked samples was of 4 μg l−1. 相似文献

Capillary electrophoresis (CE) with indirect UV detection utilizing a pyromellitate-based electrolyte was used for the routine analysis of major anions in atmospheric aerosols collected on filters with high-volume (Hi-Vol) samplers. The long-term reliability of the CE system was checked over an 8-month period during which over 2900 samples were analyzed. In addition, approximately 1100 samples were analyzed in parallel by ion chromatography (IC). It has been shown that acceptable analytical performance can be routinely obtained. An analytical procedure enabling routine analysis of four environmental estrogens at concentrations below 1 ng L–1 in estuarine water samples has been developed and validated. The method includes extraction of water samples using solid-phase extraction discs and detection by gas chromatography (GC) with tandem mass spectrometry (MS–MS) in electron-impact (EI) mode. The targeted estrogens included 17- and 17-estradiol (aE2, bE2), estrone (E1), and 17-ethinylestradiol (EE2), all known environmental endocrine disruptors. Method performance characteristics, for example trueness, recovery, calibration, precision, accuracy, limit of quantification (LOQ), and the stability of the compounds are presented for each of the selected estrogens. Application of the procedure to water samples from the Scheldt estuary (Belgium – The Netherlands), a polluted estuary with reported incidences of environmental endocrine disruption, revealed that E1 was detected most frequently at concentrations up to 7 ng L–1. aE2 was detected once only and concentrations of bE2 and EE2 were below the LOQ.Presented at the 9th FECS Conference on Chemistry and the Environment, Bordeaux, France, 29 August–1 September 2004 相似文献

A laboratory information management system (LIMS) can make a major contribution to the quality and therefore to the efficiency
and competitiveness of a laboratory. Since it can impact all aspects of a laboratory's organization it must be the key if
not the principal player of the laboratory's quality system. It should support the laboratory in establishing, maintaining
and applying quality procedures thereby enabling the laboratory to achieve its quality goals. As a tool, LIMS permits the
laboratory to input and use its own know-how and experience to optimize the total organization (internal and external) and
workflow of generated information. However, perceived "quality" in the context of an LIMS, can be viewed as being made up
of different facets such as the security, reliability and accessibility of information as well as its turn around time and
production cost. This paper reviews the role of a LIMS in the laboratory and the contribution that both system design and
functionality can have on "building quality ".

An ion-exchange procedure is proposed for determination of Pt and Pd in environmental samples, using a Dowex 1-X10 anion-exchange resin. Pt and Pd were separated from the matrix elements in the sample by selective retention on the column as anionic chloro complexes and subsequent elution by circulated thiourea at 60 °C. The eluent, containing Pt and Pd was analyzed by inductively coupled plasma (ICP) atomic emission spectrometry (AES). Average recoveries of 98% and detection limit of 15 ng/g for both metals were achieved. Analysis of Pt and Pd concentrations in road dust, sampled from several sites in Germany was performed. The comparison of the obtained data with the concentrations of Pt and Pd in the same samples, determined by ICP-MS showed a very good agreement. 相似文献

During the last decade, it has become increasingly important that researchers demonstrate that research is conducted to the highest standards. The implementation of quality assurance for research laboratories will enable all fields of research and development to be judged impartially. There are no specific standards for research laboratories but where possible, existing standards can be adapted. This review is structured around two approaches. The first considers research to be a logical extension of testing, and it is assumed that testing standards can be applied methodically to each step in a research project. The second advocates a flexible approach, with research-specific criteria for assessing quality. The important papers published on this topic have been reviewed. The conclusions are that the general quality management approach, encompassed by the ISO 9000 series of standards with the emphasis on customer satisfaction and ‘fitness for purpose’, is suitable for implementing quality assurance in research laboratories. 相似文献
