Summary Electrode surface modification by electrochemical pretreatment of glassy carbon electrodes was shown to enhance significantly the sensitivity of the electrodes for the detection of timolol and oxprenolol, but reduce slightly the sensitivity to prenalterol. This method may permit the detection of exprenolol and timolol with increased sensitivity, or may allow their detection at lower applied potentials than is presently possible. Electrode surface modification may prove to be a valuable aid to the detection of compounds that are considered to be outside the practical limits of electrochemical detection. 相似文献

Water present in undiluted acetic acid can be monitored in situ with Pt and Au microelectrodes using differential pulse and square‐wave voltammetries. Both reduction and oxidation peaks can be obtained. The best quantitative analytical results were obtained for the anodic peak, the Pt microelectrode, and differential pulse voltammetry. The anodic water peak is located at +1.55 V vs. the quasi reference Pt electrode. The voltammetric peak obtained at Pt electrode is apparently not a diffusional one, however, the calibration plot obtained by employing this peak is linear over a wide concentration range, up to 4 mol dm?3. The detection limit has been estimated as 2.3 mM or 0.0043 v/v%. The developed method may be particularly useful, since the Karl Fischer method can not be used to determine water in glacial acetic acid due to the estrification reaction of acetic acid with methanol. A voltammetric wave of undiluted acetic acid could not be obtained in the positive and negative ranges of potential. 相似文献

The influence of anionic surfactants on the electrochemical degradation of polyaniline (PANI), deposited by electro-polymerization onto platinum electrodes, was investigated in an aqueous medium by means of cyclic voltammetry. The degradation rate was found to be greatly dependent on the pH of the solution. The electrochemical degradation of PANI/dodecylsulfate and PANI/dodecylbenzenesulfonate films was compared with that of a PANI/hydrochloride film. The degradation rate in the two former cases decreased by some 50% compared to the PANI/hydrochloride film in aqueous solution at pH = 2. The results were confirmed with theoretical calculations performed on the evaluation of head group charge of surfactants, the distance of anions from PANI positive sites and the shielding of anions on PANI positive sites. 相似文献

Electrochemical bromination of toluene and substituted toluenes by two-phase electrolysis yields the corresponding α-brominated products. The reaction has been carried out in a single compartment cell with platinum electrodes at 0 °C in chloroform using an aqueous sodium bromide solution (60%) containing a catalytic amount of HBr. The electrochemical behaviour of kinetin (6-furfurylaminopurine) on a carbon paste modified with OV-17 silicone electrode, is studied. The determination of kinetin is possible working in square wave voltammetric techniques, reaching limits of determination of 38.7 ng ml−1. The proposed method was successfully applied to determine the cytokinin in extracts of apples (previously spiked with kinetin) and the obtained results were in accordance with the results obtained with HPLC-UV. 相似文献

A bifunctional amido-thiophene namely hexamethylene (bis-3-thiophene acetamide) (HMTA) was synthesized by the reaction of 3-thiophene acetic acid with hexamethylene diamine. Copolymerization in the presence of thiophene was achieved electrochemically in tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate/acetonitrile (TBAFB/AN). Spectroelectrochemical analysis of the resulting copolymer [P(HMTA-co-Th)] reflected electronic transitions at 505 nm, 740 nm and ∼1000 nm, revealing π to π* transition, polaron and bipolaron band formation respectively. Switching ability was evaluated by a kinetic study via measuring the transmittance (%T) at the maximum contrast. Dual type polymer electrochromic devices (ECDs) based on P(HMTA-co-Th) and poly(ethylene dioxythiophene) (PEDOT) have been constructed. Spectroelectrochemistry, switching ability and stability of the devices were investigated by UV-vis spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. These devices exhibit low switching voltages (between 0.0 V and +1.6 V), short switching times with reasonable switching stability under atmospheric conditions. 相似文献

The main characteristics of a dual-electrode amperometric detector with a cell of the “cylinder-in-flow” type with a working wire electrode have been investigated. The effective cell volume is 10–40 nl in a system with 0.2–0.4 mm i.d. packed fused-silica columns. Extra-column spreading at the optimum elution rate does not exceed 0.005 μl2. The linear range is 103 at a relative standard deviation of 0.009. The low noise level (2–3 pA) facilitates determination of electro-active substances. The detection limit for catecholamines is of the order of tenths of a femtomole. 相似文献
