sof monensin complexes with Li+, Na+, K+ and Cs+ ions were studied by a competitive polarographic method using the Tl+/Tl(Hg) redox couple as a sensitive electrochemical probe. TheK
svalues are strongly influenced by the solvents (acetonitrile, propionitrile, acetone, N,N-dimethylformamide, N-methyl pyrolidinone, N,N-dimethylacetamide, dimethylsulfoxide, N,N-diethylformamide and N,N-diethylacetamide were used in experiments) and vary inversely with the Gutmann donicity scale. Molecular mechanics computations revealed the probable structures of the complexes.

Bond-length fluctuations in transition-metal oxoperovskites may give rise to two-phase fluctuations in what appears to be a single phase to a diffraction experiment. Orbital disorder at Jahn-Teller ions results in bond-length fluctuations that give 3D-ferromagnetic, vibronic Mn(III)-O-Mn(III) superexchange interactions and allow disproportionation into Mn(IV) and Mn(II) in LaMnO3; where orbitally ordered and disordered phases coexist, an external magnetic field stabilizes the orbitally disordered, ferromagnetic phase relative to the orbitally ordered, antiferromagnetic phase. Spin-lattice interactions in the paramagnetic phase of charge-transfer compounds give bond-length fluctuations arising from the semicovalent component of the superexchange interactions. At the crossover from localized to itinerant electronic behavior, the coexistence of two-phase fluctuations has been demonstrated in both the single-valent RNiO3 family (R=rare-earth, A=alkaline-earth) and the mixed-valent R0.5A0.5MnO3 perovskites. “Bad-metal” behavior is found to be associated with bond-length fluctuations. 相似文献

Summary A molecular dynamics/energy-minimisation protocol has been used to analyse the structural and energetic effects of functional group substitution on the binding of a series of C4-modified 2-deoxy-2,3-didehydro-N-acetylneuraminic acid inhibitors to influenza virus sialidase. Based on the crystal structure of sialidase, a conformational searching protocol, incorporating multiple randomisation steps in a molecular dynamics simulation was used to generate a range of minimum-energy structures. The calculations were useful for predicting the number, location, and orientation of structural water molecules within protein-ligand complexes. Relative binding energies were calculated for the series of complexes using several empirical molecular modelling approaches. Energies were computed using molecular-mechanics-derived interactions as the sum of pairwise atomic nonbonded energies, and in a more rigorous manner including solvation effects as the change in total electrostatic energy of complexation, using a continuum-electrostatics (CE) approach. The CE approach exhibited the superior correlation with observed affinities. The effect of the micelles on the dynamic surface tension of micellar surfactant solutions is studied experimentally by means of the maximum bubble pressure method. Different frequencies of bubbling ranging approximately between 1 and 30 s–1 are applied. The time dependence of the surface tension is calculated using a dead time correction. Water solutions of two types of surfactants with different concentrations are investigated: sodium dodecyl sulfate and nonylphenol polyglycol ether. The surface tension relaxes more quickly in the presence of micelles. The characteristic times of relaxation of the surface tension seem to be in the millisecond range. The time constants observed experimentally are explained in terms of the theory of surfactant diffusion affected by micellization kinetics. 相似文献

Summary The CHARGE2 programme, which involves the classical calculation of both the inductive and resonance contributions to the partial atomic charges in molecules is described, and the charges and electrostatic potentials obtained presented for some illustrative examples.In substituted methanes (CH3X, CF3X, CCl3X) the effects of varying the electronegativity of the substituents and the - and -substituent contributions are clearly illustrated for a variety of substituent groups X.The problems involved in the inclusion of silicon into this scheme are detailed, together with the methods of overcoming them. The partial atomic charges ( and contributions) and electrostatic potentials for some silicon oxygen compounds are presented and discussed.The partial atomic charges from CHARGE2 for all the natural amino acids as their N-acetyl, N-methyl-amides are given and compared with those obtained from the AMBER and ECEPP/2 force fields. Considerable differences in these figures are observed, with the AMBER charges consistently much larger than those from the other two methods.The CHARGE2 partial atomic charges and electrostatic potentials for the four common nucleic acids, adenine, cytosine, guanine and thymine, are given and compared with those derived from other calculations. A novel extraction method, namely dynamic ultrasound-assisted extraction, is investigated. This technique is efficient with respect to both time and solvent consumption because it utilizes ultrasonic energy in dynamic mode during extraction. Polyphenols (chlorogenic acid, esculetin, rutin, scopoletin, and quercitrin) are extracted from a tobacco (Nicotina tobaccum L.) sample for 10 min with 6 mL of solvent. Fresh solvent is continuously pumped through the sample, with which the analytes can be rapidly extracted, and the possibility of degradation efficiently avoided. Methanol involving 0.5% w/v ascorbic acid was used as extraction solvent; optimal flow rate and extraction time were investigated. The extract was cleaned up by C18 disposable cartridge. The spiked and nonspiked tobacco samples were used for the evaluation of the proposed method. Recoveries obtained were varied from 96 to 108% and RSDs from 2.0 to 4.6%. This extraction technique was revealed to recover larger amounts of polyphenols from tobacco, compared to the static ultrasound-assisted extraction method. 相似文献
