An equation for a polarization curve of a hydrophobized electrode is proposed for electrosynthesis of a soluble electroactive product in an inner-kinetic mode. The equation contains the concentration of the target product (TP) in an explicit form. The shape of the curve depends on the biquadratic root of the TP concentration and the square root of the ratio between exchange currents of the side and target reactions.  相似文献

The dielectric properties of a series of poly(ester-ether-carbonate) multiblock terpolymers have been investigated as a function of ether and carbonate composition in the frequency range of 103–106 Hz. The degree of polymerization of the samples was determined by viscosimetry measurements. The weight fraction, degree of crystallinity, and melting temperatures were characterized by means of x-ray diffraction and DSC methods. Dielectric behavior has been discussed in terms of Havriliak-Negami formulation. The variation of the dielectric properties with temperature has been associated with two relaxation processes: a) the -relaxation process observed at low temperature, which is associated to local motion of polar groups attached to both the soft and the hard segments, and b) the process assigned to long-range molecular motions above the glass transition temperature.  相似文献

Sol-gel auto-combustion method was adopted to prepare Cd2+ ions substituted Ni–Zn nanosized ferrites having a chemical formula Ni0.5Zn0.5-xCdxFe2O4 (0.0 x0.4). Their structural, electromagnetic, and dielectric properties were investigated by using XRD, FE-SEM, EDS, FTIR, VSM, and IS. The XRD analysis revealed a single-phase cubic structure of all samples. The addition of cadmium increased the lattice constant and cell volume of Ni–Zn ferrite due to the difference in the ionic radii between Cadmium (0.97 ?Å) and Zinc (0.74 ?Å). FESEM images showed irregularly shaped grain sizes in the range of 40 to 73 ?nm with random orientations and some agglomeration. The FTIR analysis also confirmed the presence of spinal ferrite phase functional groups in all samples. The saturation magnetization decreased (from 89.51 to 71.32 emu/g) with increasing cadmium content. However, the remanent magnetization and coercivity parameters increased with an increase in cadmium content. The dc resistivity as a function of the temperature of all samples was investigated, and the activation energies were found to be in the range of 0.48 to 0.51 ?eV. The dielectric loss decreased with increasing cadmium content. However, the dielectric constant and dielectric loss tangent (tan) varied non-monotonically with increased cadmium content.  相似文献

The development of express method for detection of endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDC) such as alkylphenols is required for ecological monitoring. Several attempts have been made to produce antibodies against 4-nonylphenol (NP) in recent years. This work describes the production of new antibodies against NP and also summarizes the characterization of antibodies obtained earlier. Three approaches used to produce alkylphenol-specific antibodies are compared; these are based on: 1. omega-(4-hydroxyphenyl)nonanoic or omega-(4-hydroxyphenyl)heptanoic acid NP derivatives designed to mimic the linear NP isomer; 2. 4-aminophenol, which potentially mimics various substituted phenolic compounds with different side-chain structures at position 4 of the benzene ring; and 3. a mixture of branched NP isomers, conjugated to the carrier protein via a benzene ring by the Mannich reaction, and expected to be the closest mimic of NP structure by preserving its natural alkyl moiety.Fluorescence polarization immunoassays based on different combinations of antibody and labeled antigen for screening detection of NP were developed and structural aspects of assay sensitivity and specificity were investigated. The assays based on the antisera raised against omega-(4-hydroxyphenyl)nonanoic acid and NP conjugate via Mannich reaction are capable of express detection of NP with detection limit of 7 microg mL(-1 )and assay dynamic range of 18-300 microg mL(-1).  相似文献

The influence of carbon-carbon triple bond polarization on the regiochemistry of the Pauson-Khand reaction has been studied with the B3LYP functional. The regiochemistry determining step of this reaction, i.e., olefin insertion leading to cobaltacycle formation, has been examined with ethylene as the olefin and propyne, methyl 2-butynoate, and methyl propiolate as the acetylenes. From this study, it has been concluded that, in absence of overwhelming steric effects of an acetylene substituent, the regiochemistry is influenced by the polarization of the acetylenic bond, which arises from the different substituents. The initial C-C bond is preferentially formed with the acetylenic carbon that has the greater electron density: with propyne, this leads to a cyclopentenone having the methyl group in the α-position; with methyl 2-butynoate, to a cyclopentenone with the CO2Me in the β-position; with methyl propiolate, which is virtually unpolarized in the complex, to a cyclopentenone with the CO2Me in the α-position (a result of steric effects). These theoretical results are concordant with those observed experimentally with norbornene. The question of axial versus equatorial reactive positions for the coordinated olefin is also addressed and a kinetic simulation is presented.  相似文献

Dielectric spectroscopy (10–1 Hz to 107 Hz) has been employed to study the molecular dynamics of a series of cyclic and linear polydimethylsiloxanes (PDMS) of various molecular weights ranging from 300 to 10 000 g/mol in the temperature range above the glass transition (from 130 K to 190 K). The observed -relaxation depends strongly on both molecular weight and structure of the samples. For linear PDMS oligomers, the -relaxation shifts towards lower temperatures with decreasing molecular weight in good accordance with the Fox-Flory-model. Cyclic PDMS reveals a qualitatively different molecular weight dependence: for a given temperature the -relaxation time increases with decreasing ring length, but has a maximum for small oligomers (degree of polymerizationn6). The shape of relaxation curves and, with it, the relaxation time distribution is independent from length and architecture of the chains The observed experimental findings are in qualitative agreement with dynamic Monte-Carlo simulations.Dedicated to Prof. E.W. As the application of a dielectric theory proposed previously (J Membrane Sci 64:153–161 (1991)), theoretical formulation and the practical procedure of dielectric analysis are developed to calculate the structural parameters such as the conductivity gradient and the thickness of the concentration polarization layer, the capacitances and the conductances of the two adjoining aqueous phases from the observed dielectric parameters. The procedure of calculation consequent upon the theoretical formulation was applied to double relaxation data observed for cation-exchange membrane systems under application of d.c. bias voltage. As a consequence, the structural parameters of concentration polarization were readily obtained with accuracy.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In a planar dielectric waveguide, weak confinement of a propagating mode in a high index core leads to a measurable evanescent interaction with the cladding. In this work, we study the effect of a reorientable anisotropic cladding on the behaviour of Transverse Electric (TE) and Transverse Magnetic (TM) mode polarisations using a liquid crystal (LC)-clad waveguide architecture. The polarised evanescent field of a guided mode interacts with a voltage-tunable birefringent LC cladding to deflect an out-coupled beam. Experimental measurements are coupled with a theoretical framework and show good consistency with simulation results. We isolate the effect of mode confinement by changing the thickness of the high index core. Interactions between the LC index ellipsoid and the mode polarisation are probed by changing the initial alignment of the LC. Finally, we examine the difference in deflection between TE and TM modes, which incorporates both a change in mode confinement and a difference in LC index components.  相似文献

A variable-temperature high-resolution 13C and 87Rb solid-state NMR study of powder rubidium hydrogencarbonate, RbHCO3, is presented for the first time. At ambient temperature, RbHCO3 is formed by centrosymmetric dimers linked by hydrogen bonds, but almost no information is available on this compound concerning proton disorder and the low-temperature phase. However, potassium hydrogencarbonate, KHCO3, which has an isomorphic structure for the high temperature phase, was well studied: it undergoes a non-ferroic, non-ferroelectric phase transition at Tc = 318 K between two monoclinic structures. The protons are disordered in an asymmetric double-well potential in the low-temperature phase, and the double-well potential becomes symmetric in the high-temperature phase. By comparison with recent solid-state NMR experimental results on KHCO3, we show that RbHCO3 undergoes a phase transition at Tc approximately 245 K, and give evidence that the proton dynamic disorder in both compounds is very similar.  相似文献
