The conversion and residence time were investigated during the bulk polymerization of styrene in a twin screw extruder. It was found that polymerization mainly occurred in the zone between 400 and 1000 mm along the screw axis in the extruder, corresponding to the residence time of the reactants ranging from 1 to 4 min in the extruder. Furthermore, the processing conditions (feed rate, screw rotation rate) and average molecular weight of the polymer have a great effect on the residence time. Based on dimensionless analysis, a model of the residence time has been built‐up, which has been confirmed by the results of realistic measurements. A kinetic model of the polymerization has also been established under the assumption that the screw extruder can be regarded as an ideal plug flow reactor. Oleic acid (OA)-modified SiO2 (OA-m-SiO2) nanoparticles were prepared using surface modification method. Infrared spectroscopy (IR) was used to investigate the structure of the OA-m-SiO2 nanoparticles, and the result showed that OA attached onto the surface of SiO2 nanoparticles through esterification. Effect of OA concentration on the dispersion stability of OA-m-SiO2 in heptane was also studied, and the result indicated that OA-m-SiO2 nanoparticles were dispersed in heptane more stably than the unmodified ones. OA-m-SiO2 nanoparticles can also be dispersed in polypropylene (PP) matrix in nano-scale. The effect of OA-m-SiO2 on crystallization of PP was studied by means of DSC. It was found that the introduction of OA-m-SiO2 resulted in significant increase in the crystallization temperature, crystallization degree and crystallization rate of PP, and OA-m-SiO2 could effectively induce the formation of β-crystal PP. Effect of OA-m-SiO2 content on mechanical properties of PP/OA-m-SiO2 nanocomposites was also studied. Online Fourier-transform near infrared (FT-NIR) spectroscopy in combination with a fiber optic probe was utilized to study the kinetics of the anionic polymerization of butadiene. The conversion of the butadiene to methylene protons in the polymer was monitored in solution polymerization conditions by monitoring the absorbance at 1632 nm. The off-line gel permeation chromatography, GPC, technique was used to validate the online FT-NIR spectroscopy method. Butadiene polymerization kinetics in cyclohexane initiated with n-butyllithium at different initiator concentrations and temperatures was studied. A phenomenological kinetic expression for the anionic polymerization of butadiene in cyclohexane initiated with n-butyllithium was determined. The predictions of the kinetic expression were in agreement with kinetic data reported in the literature.  相似文献

Isothermal and nonisothermal crystallization kinetics of polyester 64 have been investigated by means of differential scanning calorimetry and optical microscopy. The Avrami analysis has been performed to obtain the kinetic parameters of primary crystallization. These indicate a three-dimensional spherulitic growth on heterogeneous nuclei for the isothermal crystallization, whereas an sporadic nucleation becomes dominant in the nonisothermal crystallization. The maximum crystallization rate of polyester 64 was deduced to take place at a temperature close to −3 °C. Polarizing light microscopy showed that spherulites with a negative birefringence are formed during isothermal crystallization, whereas transmission electron microscopy indicates that the b crystallographic axis is aligned parallel to the spherulitic radius.  相似文献

The kinetics of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) glycolysis by diethylene glycol (DEG), dipropylene glycol (DPG), glycerol (Gly) and mixtures of these glycols have been studied with two experimental procedures: uncatalysed at 220 °C and catalysed at 190 °C. An experimental device was set up allowing the isothermal kinetics to be monitored. A precise initial reaction time was obtained by separately warming the glycol and the polyester at the temperature of reaction before mixing them.The reactivity order of different glycols varies according to the conditions of temperature and catalysis. Schematically, the global reactivity does depend not only on the chemical reactivity of the glycol but also on its physico-chemical properties: ability to solvate the solid polyesters and polarity of the reaction mixture. Attempts to find synergic effects failed for almost all mixtures, except the mixture DPG + Gly in which the PET is digested more quickly than in pure DPG or Gly.  相似文献

The conversion of amorphous tricalcium phosphate with different hydration ratio into apatite in water at 25 °C has been studied by microcalorimetry and several physical-chemical methods. The hydrolytic transformation was dominated by two strong exothermic events. A fast, relatively weak, wetting process and a very slow but strong heat release assigned to a slow internal rehydration and the crystallization of the amorphous phase into an apatite. The exothermic phenomenon related to the rehydration exceeded the crystalline transformation enthalpy. Rehydration occurred before the conversion of the amorphous phase into apatite and determined the advancement of the hydrolytic reaction. The apatitic phases formed evolved slightly with time after their formation. The crystallinity increased whereas the amount of HPO42− ion decreased. These data allow a better understanding of the behavior of biomaterials involving amorphous phases such as hydroxyapatite plasma-sprayed coatings.  相似文献

The activation energy of the enzyme-catalyzed reaction for uric acid decreases markedly in the presence of o-phenanthroline, which activates the bioelectrochemicla activity of the polypyrrole uricase electrode. The response current of the enzyme electrodeis independent of the concentration of o-phenanthroline. Based on the experimental results, the mechamsm of the enzyme-catalyzed reaction for uric acid in the presence of o-phenanthroline is presented as follows: E+A→EA, EA+S EAS, EAS→EA+P, where E, A, S and P are the enzyme, activator, substrate and product, respectively. The effects of pH value, potential and the uric acid concentration on the response currents of the uricase electrode have been studied in the presence of o-phenanthroline. In the presence of o-phenanthroline, the response current of the enzyme electrode increase linearly with increasing concentration of uric acid in the region of 0.07 to 0.67 mmol·L~(-1), therefore the polypyrrole uricase electrode which has once lost its activity can be activated and used again to determine the substrate concentration.  相似文献

Grignard reactions with alkoxysilanes or carbonyl compounds produce alkoxymagnesium halides as by-products. Kinetic measurements for reactions of silanes and of a ketone were performed with Grignard reagents, enriched in alkoxymagnesium halides and taken in a great excess.The alkoxide-type reaction products complex tightly with Grignard reagents and enhance in this way their nucleophilicity, thus accelerating the reaction. However, alkoxides branched at α-C atom exert an unfavorable steric hindrance to reaction resulting in a decrease in the reaction rate.  相似文献
