The possibility of dye charge recombination in DSSCs remains a challenge for the field. This consists of: (a) back‐transfer from the TiO2 to the oxidized dye and (b) intermolecular electron transfer between dyes. The latter is attributed to dye aggregation due to dimeric conformations. This leads to poor electron injection which decreases the photocurrent conversion efficiency. Most organic sensitizers are characterized by an Acceptor‐Bridge‐Donor ( A ‐Bridge‐ D ) arrangement that is commonly employed to provide charge separation and, therefore, lowering the unwanted back‐transfer. Here, we address the intermolecular electron transfer by studying the dimerization and photovoltaic performance of a group of A ‐Bridge‐ D structured dyes. Specifically, eight famous sulfur containing π‐bridges were analyzed ( A and D remained fixed). Through quantum mechanical and molecular dynamics approaches, it was found that the formation of weakly stabilized dimers is allowed. The dyes with covalently bonded and fused thiophene rings as Bridges, 6d and 7d as well as 8d with a fluorene, would present high aggregation and, therefore, high probability of recombination processes. Conversely, using TiO2 cluster and surface models, delineated the shortest bridges to improve the adsorption energy and the stability of the system. Finally, the elongation of the bridge up to 2 and 3 units and their photovoltaic parameters were studied. These results showed that all the sensitizers are able to provide similar photocurrent outcomes, regardless of whether the bridge is elongated. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

To decrease the water pollution of textile industries with a large amount of toxic and non‐biodegradable colored dye effluents, an efficient technique is required to safely remove harmful pollutants. In this paper, the reaction between azo dyes and NaBH4 catalyzed by nanoparticles (NPs) thin films has been studied. We report insitu degradation of methyl orange (MO) and methyl red (MR) by using Pt‐based thin films monitored by UV–Vis spectroscopy. We have synthesized different thin films such as Pt, PtPd, PtFeFe2O3, PtNi and PtAu films from Pt organometallic precursor in the MO and MR medium (dye degradation and NPs formation is happened simultaneously) and activity of these films were compared in the complete degradation of MO and MR dyes. Rate constants for the catalyzed reactions have been determined. PtPd NPs thin film has shown the highest rate constant for the degradation of MO and MR within only a few seconds due to its well‐ordered structure. Furthermore, the effect of presence of MO on the morphology of NPs was investigated.  相似文献

Light‐responsive crosslinked structures were prepared by a straightforward quaternization strategy using chloride functional polystyrene copolymers and commercially available Michler's ketone with varying feed ratios. Resulting organogels demonstrated excellent solvent absorption and their swelling characteristics were altered by UV‐light irradiation. According to scanning electron microscope images, UV‐illuminated samples showed an obvious photodecomposition, which enhanced their solvent uptake capacity with increase of UV exposure. Additionally, release behavior of eosin Y as a model compound was determined by UV–vis and fluorescence spectrometers. Achieved photoactive gels were also employed as the reusable heterogeneous initiators for photoinduced free‐radical polymerization of methyl methacrylate. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. A versatile synthetic strategy for the preparation of multimetallic oxynitrides has been designed and here exemplarily discussed considering the preparation of nanoscaled zinc–gallium oxynitrides and zinc–gallium–indium oxynitrides, two important photocatalysts of new generation, which proved to be active in key energy related processes from pollutant decomposition to overall water splitting. The synthesis presented here allows the preparation of small nanoparticles (less than 20 nm in average diameter), well-defined in size and shape, yet highly crystalline and with the highest surface area reported so far (up to 80 m2 g−1). X-ray diffraction studies show that the final material is not a mixture of single oxides but a distinctive compound. The photocatalytic properties of the oxynitrides have been tested towards the decomposition of an organic dye (as a model reaction for the decomposition of air pollutants), showing better photocatalytic performances than the corresponding pure phases (reaction constant 0.22 h−1), whereas almost no reaction was observed in absence of catalyst or in the dark. The photocatalysts have been also tested for H2 evolution (semi-reaction of the water splitting process) with results comparable to the best literature values but leaving room for further improvement.  相似文献

In recent times, polyaniline (PANI), a conducting polymer, has been studied widely for environmental remediation application due to its controllable electric conductivity with high surface area, which makes it a suitable adsorbent material. But lower mechanical stability of PANI is considered to be a serious drawback for its large-scale industrial application. To improve the mechanical strength of PANI, in this study, hematite nanoparticles were impregnated onto PANI by oxidative polymerization method in order to fabricate a novel organometallic nanocomposite (hematite-PANI-NC). The hematite-PANI-NC was used as adsorbent for removal of methyl orange (MO) and eosin yellow (EY) dye from binary dye matrix under ultrasonic-assisted adsorption. Excellent MO and EY dye removal (more than 98%) was observed from binary matrix at a wide solution pH from 2.0 to 6.0, and under ultrasound wave the adsorption equilibrium was achieved within 15 min only. Both MO and EY dyes adsorption experimental data strictly followed Langmuir isotherm, and maximum monolayer adsorption capacity of 126.58 mg/g and 112.36 mg/g was observed for MO and EY dye, respectively. The uptake mechanism of MO and EY dyes onto hematite-PANI-NC is governed by electrostatic interaction, π-π bonding and hydrogen bonding between dye molecules and nanocomposite. Response surface methodology analysis reveals maximum MO and EY removal of 98.43% and 99.35% at optimum experimental conditions. This study implies that the hybrid organometallic material hematite-PANI-NC has high potential for quick and enhanced sono-assisted uptake of anionic dyes from water near neutral solution pH.  相似文献

In the research of new compounds with multifunctional applications, heterobinuclear palladium (II) complexes based on organometallic dithiocarbazates (DTCZs) have been isolated. The organometallic DTCZ ligands of the general formula [{(η5-C5H4)-CH=NNHC(S)SCH3}]MLn [MLn = Re (CO)3 ( 2a ); Mn (CO)3 ( 2b ); FeCp ( 2c )] were prepared by the reaction between formyl organometallic precursors ( 1a−c ) with S-methyldithiocarbazate. Subsequently, a two-step reaction of 2a−c with: (i) K2[PdCl4] and (ii) PPh3 yielded heterobinuclear complexes [Pd{MLn(η5-C5H4)-CH=NNHC(S)SCH3}–(Cl)(PPh3)] [MLn = Re (CO)3 ( 3a ); Mn (CO)3 ( 3b ); FeCp ( 3c )]. All compounds were characterized by conventional spectroscopic techniques (infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and elemental analysis). In addition, the molecular structures of 2a , 2c and 3c were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The new palladium (II) complexes ( 3a−c ) were evaluated as antiproliferative agents against non-small cell lung cancer cells (H1299 cells). Complexes 3a and 3b containing cyrhetrenyl- and cymantrenyl-DTCZ ligands, respectively, were more active than their ferrocenyl analogue 3c . The activity was associated with the electron-withdrawing properties of the (η5-C5H4)M (CO)3 moieties and their better lipophilicity than that of the ferrocenyl analogue. In addition, we studied the capacity of metalloligands ( 2a−c ) and palladium (II) complexes ( 3a−c ) to remove methylene blue in water under UV–visible light irradiation. The results established that the complexes showed moderate efficiency and were less active than their corresponding free ligands.  相似文献

A new water-insoluble organic dye, namely, 2-((10-decyl-10H-phenothiazin-3-yl)methylene)malononitrile, was synthesized and fully characterized. It was envisioned that photocatalytic decolourization of a dye-containing long chain would pave the way for the photocatalytic remediation of wastewater containing toxic hydrophobic organic pollutants. Two commercially available nanoparticles, ZnO and TiO2, were selected, and their photocatalytic decolourization of the dye from aqueous medium were compared. The black UV light irradiation of the colored samples in the presence of TiO2 (P25) or ZnO resulted in their decolourization and the photocatalytic activity observed for TiO2 (P25) was better than that of ZnO. The kinetic of decolourization indicated that the process was first-order from which the rate constant was calculated. Also, the effect of pHs on the kinetic of decolourization revealed a negligible effect, indicating that the pH, although it affects the catalysts but has no effect on the organic-based hydrophobic dye and thus no effect on the photocatalytic process.  相似文献

The photochemical isomerization of a styrylpyridinium dye ( SP ) bearing an unsymmetrically attached benzo-15-crown-5 ether has been studied in aqueous solution in the absence and presence of cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]). The detailed analysis of the UV/Vis and NMR spectra showes that the isomeric composition of the photostationary mixtures of SP can be modulated by the host-guest complexation with CB[7]. It was found that steric hindrance caused by encapsulation of SP in the host cavity induces the exclusive formation of the anti conformer of Z- SP in contrast with the mixture of both anti and syn conformers obtained during photoisomerization of the dye without CB[7]. Remarkably, the displacement of anti Z- SP from CB[7] does not lead to the transformation of the anti Z-isomer into the syn Z-isomer pointing out the conformational memory of the system. The results provide an interesting example of the supramolecular stereorecognition by the achiral CB[7] host.  相似文献
