A systematic study of the hole transport and electrical properties in blue-emitting polymers as poly(9,9-dioctylfluorene) (PFO) has been performed. We show that the temperature dependent and thickness dependent current density versus voltage characteristics of PFO hole-only devices can be accurately described using our recently introduced improved mobility model based on both the Arrhenius temperature dependence and non-Arrhenius temperature dependence. Within the improved model, the mobility depends on three important physical quantities: temperature, carrier density, and electric field. For the polymer studied, we find the width of the density of states σ=0.115 eV and the lattice constant a=1.2 nm. Furthermore, we show that the boundary carrier density has an important effect on the current density versus voltage characteristics. Too large or too small values of the boundary carrier density lead to incorrect current density versus voltage characteristics. The numerically calculated carrier density is a decreasing function of distance from the interface. The numerically calculated electric field is an increasing function of distance. Both the maximum of carrier density and minimum of electric field appear near the interface. 相似文献

Despite significant progress in the preparation and characterization of two-dimensional (2D) materials, the synthesis of 2D organic materials remains challenging. Here, we report a novel space-confined polymerization method that enables the large-scale synthesis of 2D sheets of a functional conjugated polymer, namely, poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT). A key step in this method is the confinement of monomer to the boundaries of ice crystals using micelles. This spatial confinement directs the polymerization to form 2D PEDOT sheets with high crystallinity and controlled morphology. Supercapacitors prepared from the 2D PEDOT sheets exhibit outstanding performance metrics. In aqueous electrolyte, a high areal specific capacitance of 898 mF cm−2 at 0.2 mA cm−2 along with an excellent rate capability is achieved (e.g., capacitance retention of 67.6 % at a 50-fold higher current). Moreover, the 2D PEDOT-based supercapacitors exhibit outstanding cycling stability (capacitance retention of 98.5 % after 30,000 cycles). The ubiquitous presence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in aqueous environments has aroused societal concern. Nonetheless, effective sensing technologies for continuous monitoring of PFAS within water distribution infrastructures currently do not exist. Herein, we describe a ratiometric sensing approach to selectively detect aqueous perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) at concentrations of μg ⋅ L−1. Our method relies on the excitonic transport in a highly fluorinated poly(p-phenylene ethynylene) to amplify a ratiometric emission signal modulated by an embedded fluorinated squaraine dye. The electronic coupling between the polymer and dye occurs through overlap of π-orbitals and is designed such that energy transfer is dominated by an electron-exchange (Dexter) mechanism. Exposure to aqueous solutions of PFAS perturbs the orbital interactions between the squaraine dye and the polymer backbone, thereby diminishing the efficiency of the energy transfer and producing a “polymer-ON/dye-OFF” response. These polymer/dye combinations were evaluated in spin-coated films and polymer nanoparticles and were able to selectively detect PFAS at concentrations of ca. 150 ppb and ca. 50 ppb, respectively. Polar groups in the skeletons of conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) play an important role in determining their porosity and gas sorption performance. Understanding the effect of the polar group on the properties of CMPs is essential for further advances in this field. To address this fundamental issue, we used benzene, the simplest aromatic system, as a monomer for the construction of two novel CMPs with multi-carboxylic acid groups in their skeletons (CMP-COOH@1 and CMP-COOH@2). We then explored the profound effect the amount of free carboxylic acid in each polymer had on their porosity, isosteric heat, gas adsorption, and gas selectivity. CMP-COOH@1 and CMP-COOH@2 showed Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface areas of 835 and 765 m2·g-1, respectively, displaying high potential for carbon dioxide storage applications. CMP-COOH@1 and CMP-COOH@2 exhibited CO2 capture capabilities of 2.17 and 2.63 mmol·g-1 (at 273 K and 1.05 × 105 Pa), respectively, which were higher than those of their counterpart polymers, CMP-1 and CMP-2, which showed CO2 capture capabilities of 1.66 and 2.28 mmol·g-1, respectively.
