In the present study, a GPU accelerated 1D space–time CESE method is developed and applied to shock tube problems with and without condensation. We have demonstrated how to implement the CESE algorithm to solve 1D shock tube problems using an older generation GPU (the NVIDIA 9800 GT) with relatively limited memory. To optimize the code performance, we used Shared Memory and solved the inter-Block boundary problem in two ways, namely the branch scheme and the overlapping scheme. The implementations of these schemes are discussed in detail and their performances are compared for the Sod shock tube problems. For the Sod problem without condensation, the speedup over an Intel CPU E7300 is 23 for the branch scheme and 41 for the overlapping scheme, respectively. While for problems with condensation, both schemes achieve higher acceleration ratios, 53 and 71, respectively. The higher speedup of the condensation case can be ascribed to the source term calculation which has a local dependence on the mesh point and the SOURCE kernel has a higher acceleration ratio. 相似文献

A microscopic interface condition for condensing/evaporating interfaces is developed by combining a velocity dependent condensation probability [T. Tsuruta, H. Tanaka, T. Masuoka, Int. J. Heat Mass Transfer 42 (1999) 4107] and Maxwell type interface conditions with accommodation. Using methods from kinetic theory, macroscopic interface conditions for mass and energy transport across the phase boundary are derived. This model only applies to simple substances, where diffusive effects in the bulk phases are not present. The results are compared to classical non-equilibrium thermodynamics. The interface conditions are considered for the limit of small deviation from equilibrium, and the corresponding Onsager coefficients are computed. These results are useful as boundary conditions for non-equilibrium evaporation and condensation problems, as done previously by our group [M. Bond, H. Struchtrup, Phys. Rev. One-dimensional non-equilibrium systems with short-range interaction can undergo phase transitions from homogeneous states to phase separated states as interaction (?) among particles is increased. One of the model systems where such a transition has been observed is the extended Katz-Lebowitz-Spohn (KLS) model with ferromagnetically interacting particles at ?=4/5. Here, the system remains homogeneous for small interaction strength (?<4/5), and for anti-ferromagnetic interactions (?<0). We show that the phase separation transitions can also occur in anti-ferromagnetic systems if interaction among particles depends explicitly on the size of the block (n) they belong to. The condensation of supersonic steam jet submerged in the quiescent subcooled water was investigated experimentally. The results indicated that the shape of steam plume was controlled by the steam exit pressure and water temperature. Six different shapes of steam plume were observed under the present test conditions. Their distribution as a function of the steam exit pressures and water temperatures was given. As the steam mass velocity and water temperature increase, the measured maximum expansion ratio and dimensionless penetration length of steam plume were in the ranges of 1.08–1.95 and 3.05–13.15, respectively. The average heat transfer coefficient of supersonic steam jet condensation was found to be in the range of 0.63–3.44 MW/m2K. An analytical model of steam plume was found and the correlations to predict the maximum expansion ratio, dimensionless penetration length and average heat transfer coefficient were also investigated. 相似文献
