Analytical chemists can advantageously use an uncertainty function to describe the performance of an analytical system in terms of the standard uncertainty or standard deviation as a function of the concentration of the analyte. This “characteristic function” is useful for estimating uncertainty at a new concentration. A similar function can be used to prescribe the uncertainty that is regarded as fit for purpose for a particular application. This “fitness function” is useful in setting standards of accuracy in proficiency tests and similar exercises without revealing the concentration of the analyte. By the study of 3000 kinetic runs for all homogeneous two-step models under variation of activation and signal parameters, it has been stated that the generated Mechanistic Concentration Code (=MCC) is the best vehicle for data extraction in Thermal Analysis. It summarises the rate-controlling steps and their molecularities, independently of their activation data and (to 80–90%) of their method-specific signal parameters. Hence, an optimum evaluation needs the internal (best-fitted) reference step, the initial concentration of a reference reactant, and equal weight of theoretical and experimental results, reached using the same algorithms. Thus, the MCC of any series measured in general allows for a reliable model determination via the distribution into all two-step models, using the tools of probability and decision theory. A transfer of the strategy to heterogeneous reactions is discussed.
Zusammenfassung Durch die Untersuchung von über 3000 kinetischen Abläufen für alle homogenkinetischen Zweistufen-Modelle wurde festgestellt, da\ der Mechanistische Konzentrations-Code (= MCC) ein optimaler Datenträger in der Thermischen Analyse ist: Er beschreibt die geschwindigkeitsbestimmenden Schritte und ihre Molekularität, unab- hängig von deren Aktivierungsdaten und, zu 80–90%, von ihren methodenspezifischen Signalparametern. Ein optimales Auswerteverfahren benötigt einen internen (optimal angepa\ten) Referenzschritt, die Startkonzentration eines Referenz-Reaktanten und Gleichberechtigung theoretischer und experimenteller Befunde, erreicht, durch Verwendung derselben Algorithmen. Allgemein ermöglicht der MCC aus einer Reihe von Experimenten dann eine Modellbestimmung über eine Verteilung, die durch entscheidungstheoretische Kriterien die Wahrscheinlichkeiten aller Zweistufenmodelle auflistet.Eine übertragung des Verfahrens auf heterogene Prozesse wird diskutiert.相似文献

Spectral analysis of vowels during connected speech can be performed using the spectral intensity distribution within critical bands corresponding to a natural scale on the basilar membrane. Normalization of the spectra provides the opportunity to make objective comparisons independent from the recording level. An increasing envelope peak between 3,150 and 3,700 Hz has been confirmed statistically for a combination of seven vowels in three groups of male speakers with hoarse, normal, and professional voices. Each vowel is also analyzed individually. The local energy maximum is called “the speaker's formant” and can be found in the region of the fourth formant. The steepness of the spectral slope (i.e. the rate of decline) becomes less pronounced when the sonority or the intensity of the voice increases. The speaker's formant is connected with the sonorous quality of the voice. It increases gradually and is approximately 10 dB higher in professional male voices than in normal male voices at neutral loudness (60 dB at 0.3 min). The peak intensity becomes stronger (30 dB above normal voices) when the overall speaking loudness is increased to 80 dB. Shouting increases the spectral energy of the adjacent critical bands but not the speaker's formant itself. 相似文献

Focused on the sensitivity to climate change and the special mechanical characteristics of undisturbed expansive soil, an elastc-plastic damage constitutive model was proposed based on the mechanics of unsaturated soil and the mechanics of damage. Undisturbed expansive soil was considered as a compound of non-damaged part and damaged part. The behavior of the non-damaged part was described using non-linear constitutive model of unsaturated soil. The property of the damaged part was described using a damage evolution equation and two yield surfaces, i.e., loading yield (LY) and shear yield (SY). Furthermore, a consolidation model for unsaturated undisturbed expansive soil was established and a FEM program named UESEPDC was designed. Numerical analysis on solid-liquid-gas tri-phases and multi-field couple problem was conducted for four stages and fields of stress, displacement, pore water pressure, pore air pressure, water content, suction, and the damage region as well as plastic region in an expansive soil slope were obtained. 相似文献
