Although the effects of filler nanoparticles size and surface treatment on the glass transition temperature of the matrix phase have received well-deserved attention, nanofiller effects on other physical parameters associated with the glass transition have received less interest. To better understand how the incorporation of nanofillers affects the enthalpic relaxations associated with the glass transition, differential scanning calorimeter measurements were carried out on silica–polyvinyl acetate nanocomposites with respect to filler content, annealing temperature, and annealing period. As expected, longer annealing periods below the glass transition temperature resulted in an increase of the subsequent enthalpic relaxations. However, the presence of filler substantially reduces the enthalpic relaxation relative to that of the neat polymer at longer annealing periods only. The underlying enthalpic relaxations and the effects suppressed by the fillers are specific to the annealing temperature. These results suggest a significant alteration in the physical state of the matrix because of the presence of the filler particles. However, this does not imply the existence of a glassy layer or layers with a glass transition gradient near the filler surface. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The stability and migration product of medical PVC tubes plasticized with polyadipates were investigated by ageing in phosphate buffer at pH 1.679 and water at different temperatures. Changes in the PVC tubes were studied by water absorption, weight loss, Fourier infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). The low molecular weight migration product that was released was extracted and silylanized before gas chromatography/mass spectroscopy (GC/MS) identification and quantification. After 70 days, the weight loss was less than 0.5% and only a small amount of adipic acid migrated when a tube was aged at 37°C in water and phosphate buffer (pH 1.679), and at 70°C in water after 56 days. However, when aged at 70 and 110°C, gradual deactivation of heat stabilizer after 21 days of ageing in buffer solution and separation of plasticizer from PVC matrix occurred. When the tube was aged at 110°C, significant degradation of both polyadipates and PVC were observed. Adipic acid and 1,4-butanediol monomers and oligomers of polyadipate were the major migration products from polyadipates in the water ageing solution, while only a relatively high amount of adipic acid was identified as the main product in the buffer ageing solution. 相似文献

Summary: The dynamics and the non-linear rheology of concentrated dispersions of soft particles are shown to exhibit generic properties. They display both solid-like and liquid-like properties depending on the applied stress. Below the yield point, dispersions exhibit history-dependent phenomena that have all the hallmarks of ageing in glasses. The close-packed disordered structures of the dispersions lie at the heart of this behaviour. The enthalpy changes ΔH∞ between a poly(vinyl acetate) glass formed by rapid cooling and the corresponding fully relaxed glass have been estimated at four temperatures below the glass transition. The values obtained were different to those expected by extrapolating liquid behavior below the glass transition and were found to agree well with the predictions of a simple expression for the combined main chain conformational and free volume contributions to enthalpy. Conformational contributions from the side chain alone were also considered but were not required to obtain agreement with experiment. It can be concluded that the side chains remained mobile below the glass transition and do not contribute to the heat capacity discontinuity at Tg. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 采用波长色散X射线荧光光谱仪测定水泥和水泥熟料中的Na2O、MgO、A12O3、SiO2、P2Os、SO3、K2O、CaO、TiO2、MnO、Fe2O3等成分。采用熔融玻璃片方法制样,采用Li2B4O7为熔剂,较混合熔剂的制样效果好;硫在1050℃熔融制样过程中的挥发较慢,对测定结果无明显影响。方法测定准确度、精密度较好,所得结果与湿法化学分析结果相符。 相似文献

Natural fibre reinforced biopolymer composites, or biocomposites, are an alternative to the glass fibre reinforced thermoset composites widely used today in marine applications. Biocomposites offer good mechanical properties and total biodegradability, but if they are to be adopted for marine structures their durability in a seawater environment must be demonstrated. In the present study unreinforced PLLA (Poly(l-Lactic acid)), injected and film stacked flax composites with the same PLLA matrix have been examined. All the samples were aged in natural seawater at different temperatures in order to accelerate hygrothermal ageing. Changes to physico-chemical and mechanical behaviour have been followed by weight measurements, thermal and gel permeation chromatography (GPC) analyses, and tensile testing, completed by acoustic emission recording and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) examination. The matrix tensile stiffness is hardly affected by seawater at temperatures to 40 °C but the composite loses stiffness and strength. Fibre/matrix interface weakening is the main damage mechanism induced by wet ageing, but both matrix and fibre cracks also appear at longer periods. 相似文献

This work presents a preliminary study on the ageing process of proteinaceous binder materials used in painting under UV light. With this aim, two sets of model samples were prepared: samples prepared using a single protein material and complex samples prepared in a similar way to the sequence of layers in a real painting from lowest to highest complexity (protein, drying oils, pigment and varnish). The study focuses on acquiring information about the possible degradation process of proteinaceous binders due to ageing and how this process be affected by the presence of characteristic non-proteinaceous painting materials, such as lipids from linseed oil, terpenic compounds from varnish and inorganic pigments. Samples simulated the accelerated ageing process, as did the UV light exposition. The FT-IR spectra were recorded after 100, 500, 1000 and 1500 h of exposition. The study of the accelerated ageing process was performed by means of principal component analysis (PCA) using the FT-IR spectra obtained. Loadings from the significant principal components were analysed to find the FT-IR frequency (cm−1) involved in the degradation process. The study showed the lack of any relevant modification on the proteins in the single model samples. On the contrary, the complex model samples showed the ageing process. The accelerated ageing process can be explained by a principal component from PCA. The most affected IR region was 2900-3600 cm−1, where the amide band was included. 相似文献

Degradation of poly(ester-urethanes) and poly(acrylic-urethanes), as a base for automotive paintings in interior applications, has been studied by chemiluminescence. The samples were clearcoat and black-pigmented paints, unstabilised and stabilized with HALS Tinuvin 292 and UV absorber Tinuvin 1130, exposed to various doses of artificial weathering in Xenotest and Solisi equipment. Chemiluminescence has appeared a powerful tool to evaluate the oxidation stability of various polyurethane systems. From the dependences of oxidation onset temperature on heating rate, the kinetic parameters describing the dependence of induction periods on temperature have been obtained. The kinetic parameters enabled us to calculate the length of the induction period for a chosen temperature, the protection factors of various additives and the residual stability of the polymer after an artificial ageing stress. It has been found that the loss of residual stability with ageing dose obeys a first-order relationship. Equivalence between the two methods of artificial ageing has been determined. The results indicate that the equivalence depends on the polymer composition. The procedure presented here can also be applied for the determination of equivalence of accelerated and field tests so contributing to establishing a reliable correlation between them. 相似文献

水泥化学分析的传统方法,实验过程冗长。本文研究了以王水+氢氟酸+高氯酸+盐酸溶样及采用水泥标准样品配制工作用标准溶液,建立了水泥样品中CaO,MgO,Fe2O3,Al2O3和TiO2五种组分含量快速测定的等离子体发射光谱法(ICP-AES)。讨论了基体干扰、元素的光谱干扰的影响。研究了方法的检出限和精密度,方法的检出限为3.79×10-4μg·mL-1~1.07×10-2μg·mL-1,回收率为87.5%~105.6%,RSD小于1%。研究结果表明,该方法能满足快速检验的要求。 相似文献
