Environmentally friendly iron(II) catalysts for atom‐transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) were synthesized by careful selection of the nitrogen substituents of N,N,N‐trialkylated‐1,4,9‐triazacyclononane (R3TACN) ligands. Two types of structures were confirmed by crystallography: “[(R3TACN)FeX2]” complexes with relatively small R groups have ionic and dinuclear structures including a [(R3TACN)Fe(μ‐X)3Fe(R3TACN)]+ moiety, whereas those with more bulky R groups are neutral and mononuclear. The twelve [(R3TACN)FeX2]n complexes that were synthesized were subjected to bulk ATRP of styrene, methyl methacrylate (MMA), and butyl acrylate (BA). Among the iron complexes examined, [{(cyclopentyl)3TACN}FeBr2] ( 4 b ) was the best catalyst for the well‐controlled ATRP of all three monomers. This species allowed easy catalyst separation and recycling, a lowering of the catalyst concentration needed for the reaction, and the absence of additional reducing reagents. The lowest catalyst loading was accomplished in the ATRP of MMA with 4 b (59 ppm of Fe based on the charged monomer). Catalyst recycling in ATRP with low catalyst loadings was also successful. The ATRP of styrene with 4 b (117 ppm Fe atom) was followed by precipitation from methanol to give polystyrene that contained residual iron below the calculated detection limit (0.28 ppm). A regio‐ and enantioselective tandem reaction is reported capable of directly transforming readily accessible achiral allylic alcohols into chiral sulfonyl‐protected allylic amines. The reaction is catalyzed by the cooperative action of a chiral ferrocene palladacycle and a tertiary amine base and combines high step‐economy with operational simplicity (e.g. no need for inert‐gas atmosphere or catalyst activation). Mechanistic studies support a PdII‐catalyzed [3,3] rearrangement of allylic carbamates—generated in situ from the allylic alcohol and an isocyanate—as the key step, which is followed by a decarboxylation. 相似文献

Multisite organic–inorganic hybrid catalysts have been prepared and applied in a new general, practical, and sustainable synthetic procedure toward industrially relevant GABA derivatives. The domino sequence is composed of seven chemical transformations which are performed in two one‐pot reactions. The method produces both enantiomeric forms of the product in high enantiopurity as well as the racemate in good yields after a single column purification step. Based on a mechanistic study, we have discovered a Brønsted acid catalyzed formation of ketone radicals. This is believed to proceed via thermally labile alkenyl peroxides formed in situ from ketones and hydroperoxides. The discovery could be utilized to develop a multicomponent radical addition of unactivated ketones and tert‐butyl hydroperoxide to olefins. The resulting γ‐peroxyketones are synthetically useful intermediates that can be further transformed into 1,4‐diketones, homoaldol products, and alkyl ketones. A challenging synthetic modification of PEPPSI‐type palladium pre‐catalysts consisting of a stepwise incorporation of one and two amino groups onto the NHC skeleton was seen to exert a sequential enhancement of the electronic donor properties. This appears to be positively correlated with the catalytic performances of the corresponding complexes in the Buchwald–Hartwig amination. This is illustrated, for example, by the quantitative amination of 4‐chloroanisole by morpholine within 2 h at 25 °C with a 2 mol % catalyst/substrate ratio or by a significant reduction of catalytic loading (down to 0.005 mol %) for the coupling of aryl chlorides with anilines (max TON: 19 600). 相似文献

A novel copper‐catalyzed aerobic oxidative C(CO)? C(alkyl) bond cleavage reaction of aryl alkyl ketones for C? N bond formation is described. The asymmetric synthesis of tricyclic compounds by the desymmetrization of cyclohexadienones is presented. The reaction tolerated a large variety of substituents at different positions of the cyclohexadienone, and heterocyclic rings of different sizes were accessible. The electronically unsaturated dirhenium complex [Re2(CO)8(µ‐AuPPh3)(µ‐Ph)] ( 1 ) was obtained from the reaction of [Re2(CO)8{µ‐η2‐C(H)?C(H)nBu}(µ‐H)] with [Au(PPh3)Ph]. The bridging {AuPPh3} group was replaced by a bridging hydrido ligand to yield the unsaturated dirhenium complex [Re2(CO)8(µ‐H)(µ‐Ph)] ( 2 ) by reaction of 1 with HSnPh3. Compound 2 reductively eliminates benzene upon addition of NCMe at 25 °C. The electronic structure of 2 and the mechanism of the reductive elimination of the benzene molecule in its reaction with NCMe were investigated by DFT computational analyses. 相似文献
