Chemical species obtained by reaction of 5-amino-1, 10-phenanthroline with ethanedial (glyoxal) are reported with regard to their preparation, chemical composition and spectrometric characterization (UV-visible, infrared and liquid secondary ion mass spectrometry). Products of the reaction are postulated to be a mixture of species with molecular weights of 339, 371,480 and 524 u. Chemical reactions leading to these products and possible structural formulas for each of these species are presented. The iron complexes of these ligands, because of their extremely low solubility in most solvents, find application as redox mediators when incorporated in carbon paste electrodes, particularly for sensing in continuous-flow systems. 相似文献

Since 1997, two near-infrared laser diode sensors have been developed with the support of the CNES, the French space agency, to provide in situ data of H(2)O, CH(4) and CO(2) in the middle atmosphere. The realized instruments were flown from stratospheric balloons within the framework of European campaigns for the study of stratospheric ozone and water vapor and were involved in the validation of the ODIN and ENVISAT satellites. In this paper, we describe the developed laser probing technique, we report atmospheric measurements and finally we discuss future perspectives, particularly the in situ laser sensing of the lower atmosphere of Mars and the implication of the laser hygrometers in balloon campaigns at mid-latitudes and tropical regions to investigate the sources and sinks of stratospheric H(2)O. 相似文献

The electroanalytical determination of avidin in solution, in a carbon paste, and in a transgenic maize extract was performed in acidic medium at a carbon paste electrode (CPE). The oxidative voltammetric signal resulting from the presence of tyrosine and tryptophan in avidin was observed using square-wave voltammetry. The process could be used to determine avidin concentrations up to 3 fM (100 amol in 3 l drop) in solution, 700 fM (174 fmol in 250 l solution) in an avidin-modified electrode, and 174 nM in a maize seed extract. In the case of the avidin-modified CPE, several parameters were studied in order to optimize the measurements, such as electrode accumulation time, composition of the avidin-modified CPE, and the elution time of avidin. In addition, the avidin-modified electrode was used to detect biotin in solution (the detection limit was 7.6 pmol in a 6 l drop) and to detect biotin in a pharmaceutical drug after various solvent extraction procedures. Comparable studies for the detection of biotin were developed using HPLC with diode array detection (HPLC-DAD) and flow injection analysis with electrochemical detection, which allowed biotin to be detected at levels as low as 614 pM and 6.6 nM, respectively. A model is developed for thermal degradation of polymer nanocomposites. A composite is thought of as an equivalent network of linear chains with attached side-groups. Thermal degradation is treated as combination of (i) binary scission (fragmentation) of backbone chains, and (ii) detachment of side-groups and their subsequent annihilation (diffusion to the surface of a sample and desorption). An explicit solution is derived for the kinetic equation. This solution involves three adjustable parameters that are found by fitting observations on isotactic polypropylene reinforced with carbon nanofibres. Interest in carbon nanotubes (CNT) has grown at a very rapid rate in the last decade. Their interesting physical and chemical
properties open attractive possibilities in many application areas. These properties depend on the process conditions during
synthesis and on subsequent purification steps. Recent studies have demonstrated that CNT can promote the electron transfer
of biomolecules. These exceptional properties make them attractive for use in electrochemical biosensors.
Multi walled nanotubes have been synthesized by the Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) method using methane as a carbon source
and Ni–Al2O3–SiO2 as the catalyst. The influence of the variation of certain reaction parameters such as feed gas composition, catalyst mass,
temperature and reaction time in the yield of the CVD process has been established. In addition, the structural and chemical
characteristics of the CNTs have been studied and a purification process to eliminate the catalyst and amorphous carbon has
been developed that involves a gaseous oxidative process and acid treatment. The efficiency of the purification step has been
determined by analytical techniques.
Atomic force microscopy, Raman scattering, thermogravimetric analysis, inductively coupled plasma atomic spectroscopy are
