Surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) is an extremely powerful tool for the analysis of the composition of bimetallic nanoparticle (BNP) surfaces because of the different adsorption schemes adopted by several molecules on different metals, such as Au and Ag. The preparation of BNPs normally implies a change in the plasmonic properties of the core metal. However, for technological applications it could be interesting to synthesize core–shell structures preserving these original plasmonic properties. In this work, we present a facile method for coating colloidal gold nanoparticles (NPs) in solution with a very thin shell of silver. The resulting bimetallic Au@Ag system maintains the optical properties of gold but shows the chemical surface affinity of silver. The effectiveness of the coating method, as well as the progressive silver enrichment of the outermost part of the Au NPs, has been monitored through the SERS spectra of several species (chloride, luteolin, thiophenol and lucigenin), which show different behaviors on gold and silver surfaces. A growth mechanism of the Ag shell is proposed on the basis of the spectroscopic and microscopic data consisting in the formation and deposit of Ag clusters on the Au NP surface. The effect of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) on the structure and laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT) of sol–gel silica anti-reflective films is investigated. The results of dynamic light scattering, transmission electron microscopy, and small angle X-ray scattering, show that the PVP molecules surrounded the silica sol particles through the strong hydrogen bonds between Si-OH groups and the PVP. As a result, the growth of silica particles was restricted and thus the interface layer between the silica particles and the solvent become thickened with PVP content. Furthermore, the PVP reduced the porosity of the film, so the anti-reflection properties of the film were weakened. A multi-fractal analysis showed that the appropriate addition of PVP, 1 weight percent (wt%), could improve the surface fractal structure of the film, but that higher PVP content resulted in reduced surface uniformity. 低压供热技术具有安全系数高和节能降耗等优势,因而成为石化稠油长输管线、风力发电叶片冬季防覆冰和室内供暖等领域的研究热点之一。本文制备了一系列低压供热涂层材料,研究不同碳功能填料对涂层发热速率、发热功率及最高发热温度的影响规律,并揭示石墨烯和碳纤维对提升涂层材料热性能的协同作用。其中石墨烯纳米片的还原程度对材料热性能具有重要影响,降低其表面官能团密度对提升涂层供热特性具有促进作用,但是官能团密度过低会导致石墨烯纳米片的团聚现象,引起涂层发热不均匀。加入适量碳纤维可以提高石墨烯的均匀分散性,提升发热速率。优化石墨烯纳米片和碳纤维的比例后,采用24V电压驱动时,涂层材料的发热速率达到7.1℃·s-1,功率密度为800W·m-2,最高发热温度为124℃。 相似文献

Petroleum, synthetic, and natural waxes have been used as hydrophobic bases for dispersions intended for use as barrier coatings for packaging paper. Oil-in-water dispersions with alkaline pH were prepared by a two-step homogenization procedure containing paraffin wax, with various characteristics, the Fischer–Tropsch synthesis product or beeswax. The size of the dispersed particles determined by dynamic light scattering depended on the type of hydrophobic base used and was in the range of 350–440 nm. The ability of dispersion particles in aggregation driven by electrostatic attraction, evaluated by Zeta potential analysis by electrophoretic light scattering, was from −26 to −50 mV. Static multiply light scattering was used for 30 days of stability assessment and helped to select the dispersion with a Sarawax SX70 wax base as the most stable. Dispersions were further used for coating the backing of kraft paper by the Meyer rod method. Coated paper with an applied coating of 6 g/m2 had very good hydrophobic properties (Cobb60 < 4 g/m2), sufficient strength properties, and air permeation, which enabled its application as a packaging material. The dispersions based on Sarawax SX70 wax were evaluated as the best coating for Mondi ProVantage Kraftliner 125 g/m2 backing paper. Good hydrophobic properties and strength properties indicate the possibility of using the SX70-based wax dispersion coating as a replacement for PFAS coatings in some applications. 相似文献

In this study, a suitable method is reported to produce reinforced antibacterial paper packaging using the antimicrobial triclosan (TC) and organically modified montmorillonite (OMMT) as “model” compounds. Direct incorporation of TC at a concentration of 1 wt% and OMMT at concentrations of 1, 4, 7, and 10 wt% into papers was performed via coating process, and the resulting materials were characterized by in vitro antimicrobial assays, thermogravimetric analysis, scanning electron microscopy, mechanical tests, and water vapor transmission rate determinations. It was demonstrated that the presence of 1% TC in the coated papers exhibited inhibitory effects against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. It was also pointed out that increases of approximately 30% in the tensile strength of commercial paper are obtained by using the OMMT at a concentration of 1 wt%. Water barrier property and thermal stability of paper were also enhanced because of the coating process and the incorporation of OMMT. The results from this study demonstrate that OMMT has a great potential to be incorporated into coating formulations to obtain antibacterial‐coated papers with improved properties for various packaging applications. Direct Monitoring of Thickness and Refractive Index of Optical Thin Film Deposited on Fiber End-face
We propose a system for depositing thin films on waveguides which enables low-temperature deposition and precise control of the refractive index and film thickness. It is composed of a conventional ion-beam sputtering (IBS) system and a new system for directly monitoring film characteristics during deposition. We controlled refractive indices over a wide range from 1.52 to 1.97 by moving the sputtering targets (SiO2 and Si3N4) in the IBS system. The refractive index or film thickness was in-situ monitored by observing the optical power reflected from the end-face of a monitoring fiber set in the deposition chamber. Antireflection coating films were successfully deposited on a fiber end-face and a laser diode chip facet with low reflectivity from 0.05 to 0.07%. This deposition system is attractive for constructing highly functional optical devices for future photonic networks. 相似文献
