Density functional theory is used to calculate the bond dissociation energy to cleave the C60C60 bond of the paramagnetic X-C60C60-X and X-C60C60 dimers where X is F, OH, O and H. The results show that these dimers would not be stable much above room temperature and therefore cannot constitute the paramagnetic phase needed to form the observed ferromagnetism which has been shown to be stable up to 800 K. The calculated bond dissociation energies to remove an F, OH or H from a single C60 are large suggesting that they could be the source of the unpaired spin needed for the high temperature ferromagnetism.  相似文献

In this study a series of a segmented copolyester, poly(4,4′-dioxy-2,2′-dimethyl-azoxybenzene dodecanedioyl) (PMABD)-co-polyoxypropylene 400 (POP), was prepared. The chain length of PMABD studied (n) was varied from 7.8-18.2, and that of POP was unchanged. The intrinsic viscosity of the segmented copolyesters was 1.04-1.30, and the number average molecular weight obtained was 2.53 × 104?3.49 × 104 g/mol. The mesophase texture and thermal properties of the segmented copolyesters were measured as functions of n. It was found that the insert of flexible POP between those liquid crystalline domains of PMABD did affect thermotropic properties of PMABD. As the n value was 9.0 and 7.8 (or 7.4 and 8.6% by weight POP) the texture appeared as cholesteric-like oily streaks. The effect could not be attained by simply copolymerizing a mesogenic moiety with a pair of spacers of different lengths. The fluidity and domain structure of the flexible dodecanedioyl-POP-dodcanedioyl segments are taken into account for the obtained results. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Intrinsic bond dissociation energies (BDEs) of selected fluorinated polymers are critically evaluated. Two distinctive approaches were followed. In the first one, according to Wu and Rodgers [E.-C. Wu, A.S. Rodgers, J. Am. Chem. Soc. 98 (1976) 6112-6115], starting from the gas-phase enthalpy of polymerization we obtained the polymer backbone BDE through appropriate thermodynamic cycles. Revised experimental results indicate that the CC BDEs of all the polymers taken into account fall within a limited energy interval, comparable to the average experimental uncertainty. Central to the second methodology adopted, is a model compound approach. Thanks to the large number of reliable thermodynamic data available in the scientific literature and to simple end-capping rules, C2 molecules were chosen as suitable models for infinite linear polymers and alternating copolymers between ethylene and fluorinated olefins. For partially fluorinated polymers, like polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), alternating ethylene-tertrafluoroethylene (ETFE) and alternating ethylene-chlorotrifluoroethylene (ECTFE), the weight loss due to HF and HCl evolution during heating experiments was successfully related to the threshold energy Eo(HX) for 1,2-elimination from chemically activated hydrofluoro and hydrofluorochlorocarbons according to the modified Rice-Rampsberger-Kassel (RRKM) unimolecular theory.  相似文献

A new method for the calculation of bond orders in alternant hydrocarbons is presented. The method requires a summation over the contributions of various superposition diagrams. Quantitatively, the method is almost as reliable as PPP, and due to its simplicity it can be used for fast and relatively accurate calculation of bond orders. In addition some simple rules are derived, which in many cases can be used to predict the signs of bond orders between nonbonded atoms.Dedicated to Professor J. The C-I bond dissociation enthalpies (BDE) of various organic iodides were calculated using high-level theoretical methods including MP2 and CCSD(T) with extrapolated basis set as well as a number of density functional theory methods. After systematic evaluation of the theoretical results against available experimental C-I BDEs, it was found that the MPW LYPIM method gave the lowest root mean square error. We, therefore, used this method to examine the substituent effects on different categories of C(sp3)-I and C(sp2)-I bonds. Fur thermore, the remote substituent effects on the C-I BDEs of substituted iodobenzenes and substituted (iodomethyl)benzenes were also investigated at the same level. The C-I BDEs of typical heteroaromatic iodides including five-membered and six-membered heterocyclic iodides were also examined.  相似文献

Abstract

The treatment of 2-acetylthiophene with phosphorus pentachloride led, besides other products reported in previous studies, to 2-(2-thienyl)-2-chloroethenephosphonic acid in 16% yield. This compound was transformed, in the course of purification attempts, into 2-(2-thienyl)-2-oxoethanephosphonic acid. Full spectroscopic data for both compounds are provided.  相似文献

Imine-linked covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have been extensively studied in photocatalysis because of their easy synthesis and excellent crystallinity. The effect of imine-bond orientation on the photocatalytic properties of COFs, however, is still rarely studied. Herein, we report two novel COFs with different orientations of imine bonds using oligo(phenylenevinylene) moieties. The COFs showed similar structures but great differences in their photoelectric properties. COF-932 demonstrated a superior hydrogen evolution performance compared to COF-923 when triethanolamine was used as the sacrificial agent. Interestingly, the use of ascorbic acid led to the protonation of the COFs, further altering the direction of electron transfer. The photocatalytic performances were increased to 23.4 and 0.73 mmol g−1 h−1 for protonated COF-923 and COF-932, respectively. This study provides a clear strategy for the design of imine-linked COF-based photocatalysts and advances the development of COFs.  相似文献
