Three new 8-hydroxyquinoline derivatives, i.e. 5-[(4-styryl-benzylidene)-amino]-quinolin-8-ol (1), 5-[(4-bromo-2-fluoro-benzylidene)-amino]-quinoline-8-ol (2) and 2-[2-(9-ethyl-9H-carbazol-2yl)-vinyl]-quinolin-8-ol (3), and their metallic complexes were synthesized and identified by ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis), 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR), Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR), mass spectrometry (MS) spectra and elemental analyses. Their fluorescence
properties were studied by photoluminescence, which indicated that the luminescence wavelength of 5-and 2-substitued-8-hydroxyquinoline
derivatives shifted to red in comparison with that of 8-hydroxyquinoline. Meanwhile, the fluorescence lifetime of 2-[2-(9-ethyl-9H-carbazol-2yl)-vinyl]-quinolin-8-ol
and its zinc complex showed long lifetime in benzene solution.

A method for preparative production of 3β,20S-dihydroxydammar-24-en-12-one 3,20-di-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (1), a glycoside from Panax japonicus, chikusetsusaponin-LT8 was developed. Chemical transformation of betulafolientriol, a component of Betula leaves extract, produced the 12-keto-20S-protopanaxadiol (3β,20S-dihydroxydammar-24-en-12-one) (2), exhaustive glycosylation of which by 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-α-D-glucopyranosylbromide (3) under Koenigs—Knorr reaction conditions with subsequent removal of protecting groups formed 3β,20S-dihydroxydammar-24-en-12-one
3,20-di-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (1). The principal glycosylation product was 3β,20S-dihydroxydammar-24-en-12-one 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside if equimolar amounts of (2) and (3) were used.

Microcolumns containing 8-hydroxyquinoline azo-immobilized on controlled pore glass were incorporated in a field sampler for on-site collection, isolation and preconcentration of trace metal ions in waters of the Okavango Delta, Botswana. Sequestered trace metal ions were recovered by elution with 0.5 ml of 1.5 M nitric acid, and determined by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS). This sampling and enrichment method minimizes sample contamination, and collection of large volumes of water samples for transporting, over long distances, to analytical laboratories is avoided.Data reported comprise one of the initial surveys on trace metal ion concentrations in waters of the Okavango Delta, Botswana. In waters with more efficient mixing, dissolved metal ion concentrations found were generally low with slightly elevated levels of manganese (7-19 μg l−1), zinc (2.7-4.8 μg l−1), nickel (0.2-2.5 μg l−1) and copper (0.3-2.1 μg l−1). For each trace metal ion, concentration levels seem to reflect zones of varying water conveyance, and show no obvious temporal and spatial variations apart from a slight increment from the inlet in the upper Delta to the outlets in the lower Delta. 相似文献

Composite membranes were prepared by (a) infiltrating NAFION with SiO2-P2O5-ZrO2 sol, and (b) recasting a film using NAFION solution containing SiO2-P2O5-ZrO2 sol. The membranes were characterized by Differential Thermal Analysis and ac-impedance spectroscopy as a function of relative humidity. The influences of the heat treatment (80°C–150°C) and cleaning on the electrical properties were investigated.
