Kreĭn–Saakyan and Trace Formulas for a Pair of Canonical Differential Operators

An analog of the Kreĭn–Saakyan formula is derived for any pair of relatively prime self-adjoint extensions of a minimal symmetric canonical differential operator. On solving energy-dependent partitioned eigenvalue problem by genetic algorithm: The case of real symmetric Hamiltonian matrices

An energy-dependent partitioning scheme is explored for extracting a small number of eigenvalues of a real symmetric matrix with the help of genetic algorithm. The proposed method is tested with matrices of different sizes (30 × 30 to 1000 × 1000). Comparison is made with Löwdin’s strategy for solving the problem. The relative advantages and disadvantages of the GA-based method are analyzed     

Second order evolution equations with time-dependent subdifferentials

We study an abstract second order nonlinear evolution equation in a real Hilbert space. We consider time-dependent convex functions and their subdifferentials operating on the first derivative of the unknown function. Introducing appropriate assumptions on the convex functions and other data, we prove the existence and uniqueness of a strong solution, and give some applications of the abstract theorem to hyperbolic variational inequalities with time-dependent constraints.      

Global existence and asymptotic behavior of classical solutions of quasilinear hyperbolic systems with linearly degenerate characteristic fields

In this paper, we study the global existence and the asymptotic behavior of classical solution of the Cauchy problem for quasilinear hyperbolic system with constant multiple and linearly degenerate characteristic fields. We prove that the global C¹ solution exists uniquely if the BV norm of the initial data is sufficiently small. Based on the existence result on the global classical solution, we show that, when the time t tends to the infinity, the solution approaches a combination of C¹ traveling wave solutions. Finally, we give an application to the equation for time-like extremal surfaces in the Minkowski space-time R1+n.

??We study the linear quadratic optimal stochastic control problem which is jointly driven by Brownian motion and L\'{e}vy processes. We prove that the new affine stochastic differential adjoint equation exists an inverse process by applying the profound section theorem. Applying for the Bellman's principle of quasilinearization and a monotone iterative convergence method, we prove the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the backward Riccati differential equation. Finally, we prove that the optimal feedback control exists, and the value function is composed of the initial value of the solution of the related backward Riccati differential equation and the related adjoint equation.     

Group symmetry in tensor categories and duality for orbifolds

A duality for orbifolds is presented as an application of group extensions in tensor categories.     

Effect of Ru crystal orientation on the adhesion characteristics of Cu for ultra-large scale integration interconnects

The adhesion of Cu on Ru substrates with different crystal orientations was evaluated. The crystal orientation of sputter deposited Ru could be changed from (1 0 0) to (0 0 1) by annealing at 650 °C for 20 min. The adhesion of Cu was evaluated by the degree of Cu agglomeration on Ru. Cu films on annealed Ru films with the (0 0 1) crystal orientation showed 28% lower RMS values and 50% lower Ru surface coverage than Cu as-deposited on Ru having the (1 0 0) crystal orientation after annealing at 550 °C for 30 min, which suggest that Cu wettability on the Ru(0 0 1) was better than that on the Ru(1 0 0) plane. The low lattice misfit of 4% between Cu(1 1 1) and Ru(0 0 1) may be the reason for this good adhesion property.     

瑞香狼毒防治仓储害虫活性物质的研究

瑞香狼毒 (ＳｔｅｌｌｅｒａｃｈａｍｅｊａｓｍｅＬ .)又名断肠草 ,为瑞香科狼毒属植物。瑞香狼毒在我国大部分地区均有分布 ,盛产于四川、河北、山西等地。其性苦、平、辛、有毒 ,有逐水、祛痰、破积、杀虫之功效。据文献报道 ,瑞香狼毒除了可作为中药外 ,还可以用来防治菜青虫、蚜虫、松毛虫 ,甚至可以用来杀蚊、驱蝇、灭蛆等。作者前期工作曾以瑞香狼毒根为材料 ,初步研究了根及根粉粗提物对米象、玉米象、谷蠹的防治效果。发现瑞香狼毒对米象、玉米象、谷蠹等仓储害虫均有较好的防治功效[1] 。本文以米象为试虫 ,以生物活性跟踪法对瑞…     

Eigenvalues of Two Parameter Polynomial Operator Pencils of Waveguide Type

The spectral structure of two parameter unbounded operator pencils of waveguide type is studied. Theorems on discreteness of the spectrum for a fixed parameter are proved. Variational principles for real eigenvalues in some parts of the root zones are established. In the case of n = 1 (quadratic pencils) domains containing the spectrum are described (see Fig. 1–3). Conditions in the definition of the pencils of waveguide type arise naturally from physical problems and each of them has a physical meaning. In particular a connection between the energetic stability condition and a perturbation problem for the coefficients is given.     

Asymptotic expansions in sequential estimation for the first-order random coefficient autoregressive model: Regenerative approach

Edgeworth expansions for the distribution of a sequential least squares estimator in the random coefficient autoregressive (RCA) model are derived. The regenerative approach to second-order asymptotic analysis of Markov-type statistical models is developed.
