Organometallic alkane CH activation

The title topic is reviewed with emphasis on catalysis and on recent advances. Alkane σ complexes, Shilov chemistry and oxidative addition routes are covered. Attention is also given to σ bond metathesis, surface-bound organometallics and CH activation involving carbene complexes. Closely related reactions of non-alkane substrates such as the Murai reaction are also discussed.     

Electronegativity scheme for reactions involving radical addition to vinyl monomers

The concept of the apparent electronegativity of a reaction site has been introduced. This has been used to develop a new scheme for calculating the relative rate constants of addition of radicals with different structures to vinyl monomers. The parameters of the scheme are given for 40 reagents. 2‐Cyanoprop‐2‐yl dithiobenzoate mediated reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer polymerization of acrylonitrile targeting a polymer with a higher molecular weight

The reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization of acrylonitrile (AN) mediated by 2‐cyanoprop‐2‐yl dithiobenzoate was first applied to synthesize polyacrylonitrile (PAN) with a high molecular weight up to 32,800 and a polydispersity index as low as 1.29. The key to success was ascribed to the optimization of the experimental conditions to increase the fragmentation reaction efficiency of the intermediate radical. In accordance with the atom transfer radical polymerization of AN, ethylene carbonate was also a better solvent candidate for providing higher controlled/living RAFT polymerization behaviors than dimethylformamide and dimethyl sulfoxide. The various experimental parameters, including the temperature, the molar ratio of dithiobenzoate to the initiator, the molar ratio of the monomer to dithiobenzoate, the monomer concentration, and the addition of the comonomer, were varied to improve the control of the molecular weight and polydispersity index. The molecular weights of PANs were validated by gel permeation chromatography along with a universal calibration procedure and intrinsic viscosity measurements. ¹H NMR analysis confirmed the high chain‐end functionality of the resultant polymers. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Stereoselective synthesis of trifluoromethyl-substituted 1,2-diamines by aza-Michael reaction with trans-3,3,3-trifluoro-1-nitropropene

Aza-Michael addition of optically pure 4-phenyl-2-oxazolidinone to 3,3,3-trifluoro-1-nitropropene proceeds smoothly at low temperature with a high yield. Diastereoselectivity of the addition depends on the base used and lithiated species proved to be highly efficient affording 92% de. Optically pure 1,2-diamino-3,3,3-trifluoropropane is prepared in 58% yield from the aza-Michael addition product through a three-step procedure.     

REM树脂的制备及亲核加成应用研究

用Mitsunobu反应及丙烯酰氯酰化反应制备了用于固相有机合成的载体REM树脂，将REM树脂与苄胺加成，考查了所合成REM树脂的反应性能，并通过元素分析测定氮含量，推出REM树脂的烯丙基固载量。利用所合成的REM树脂进行了与胺、酚的加成反应动力学研究。结果表明，REM树脂与脂肪族伯胺和促胺的加成反应能够进行，与苯胺不发生反应；REM树脂与酚不能发生亲核加成反应。     

用于快点火研究的超短脉冲的相干合成

 利用傅里叶光学方法，建立了一个基于远场的多束超短脉冲相干合成的理论模型。研究了一个口径为50 cm，脉宽为1 ps的超短脉冲相干合成系统的各种误差对脉冲远场时域和空域特性的影响。结果表明：若要求远场的一倍衍射极限区域的积分能量分布达到理想情况下的90％，该系统的相位延迟误差小于0.63，沿x方向角度误差小于0.37 μrad，沿y方向角度误差小于0.34 μrad；若要求远场叠加脉冲的时域展宽小于25％，系统的剩余啁啾因子应小于1.32(不考虑相位延迟)或1.52(考虑0.63的相位延迟)。     

Toward phenanthridin-2-ylidene: electrophilicity versus acidity in planar-constrained C-aryl iminium salts

A phenanthridinium salt was prepared in four steps, including an intramolecular CH-arylation and a hydride abstraction reaction. Treatment with sterically demanding bases does not lead to the corresponding carbene, but rather to addition products: the planar-constrained geometry significantly enhances the electrophilicity over the acidity of C-aryl iminium salts.     

Heterogeneous intermolecular hydroamination of terminal alkynes with aromatic amines

Heterogeneous intermolecular hydroamination of alkynes with aromatic amines using inexpensive transition metal-exchanged clay catalysts was investigated. Reaction of terminal alkynes with aromatic amines gave higher yields of imines.     

Total synthesis of (−)-radicamine B

The synthesis of a chiral cyclic nitrone with l-arabino configuration and its application in the total synthesis of radicamine B is reported. An agreement in the spectral data with natural radicamine B but specific rotation with an opposite sign warranted a revision of the absolute configuration of radicamine B.
