Topochemical models for anti-HIV activity of 1-alkoxy-5-alkyl-6-(arylthio)uracils

Relationship between topochemical indices and anti-HIV-1 (HTLV-III) inhibitory activity of 1-alkoxy-5-alkyl-6-(arylthio)uracils has been studied. Superadjacency, an adjacency-cum-distance-based, topochemical index and Wiener’s, a distance-based, topochemical index were calculated for a set of 36 1-alkoxy-5-alkyl-6-(arylthio)uracils. Resulting data were analyzed and suitable models were developed after identification of the active ranges. Subsequently, a biological activity was assigned to each of the compounds using these models and compared with the reported anti-HIV-1 activity. High accuracy of prediction was observed using these models. Statistical analysis revealed significance of the proposed models as well as a lack of correlation between the topochemical indices employed for the chosen data set.     

Effect of arrangement of the styryl fragment on the optical properties and complexation of mono-and bis(styryl)-substituted <Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-methylpyridinium perchlorates containing benzo-15-crown-5 ether moieties

Using ¹H NMR spectroscopy and steady-state and time-resolved electronic spectroscopy, the optical properties of mono-and bis(styryl)pyridinium perchlorates and their complexes with Mg²⁺, Ba²⁺ cations were studied. The stability constants of the complexes were determined using spectrophotometric titration. The formation of inclusion complexes for Mg²⁺ and sandwich type complexes for Ba²⁺ results in fluorescence enhancement and increases the lifetimes of the excited states of the initial bis-styryl ligands. The variation of position of the styryl fragment in the pyridinium aromatic ring gives rise to photochromic crown ethers with different optical and photophysical characteristics and is also an easy route to bis(crown-ethers) of symmetrical and unsymmetrical structure. Application of TG/FTIR to the study of the regeneration process of husy and HZSM5 zeolites

The effect of regeneration conditions on the composition of the gases evolved during the catalytic pyrolysis of low density (LDPE) and high density polyethylene (HDPE) with HUSY and HZSM5 catalysts has been analysed by the TG/FTIR technique. When regenerated HUSY was employed, the evolution of the gases obtained was similar to that with fresh HUSY, indicating that the regeneration treatment did not affect its properties. Nevertheless with HZSM5, as the regeneration temperature was higher, the composition of the gases gradually became more similar to that evolved in the thermal process.     

3,4-二氢-3-甲基-4-氧代咪唑[5,1-d]并[1,2,3,5]四嗪-8-甲酸苯磺酰基呋咱氮氧基酯的合成

以3,4-二氢-3-甲基-4-氧代咪唑[5,1-d]并[1,2,3,5]四嗪-8-甲酰胺和苯磺酰基呋咱氮氧化物为原料,通过肖滕-鲍曼法合成了5种新的咪唑四嗪衍生物——3,4-二氢-3-甲基-4-氧代咪唑[5,1-d]并[1,2,3,5]四嗪-8-甲酸苯磺酰基呋咱氮氧基酯,其结构经1H NMR,IR,MS和元素分析确证。     

手性叠氮呋喃酮及其三唑类化合物的合成

合成了手性叠氮2(5H)-呋喃酮化合物(3a～3d);3b与含活泼亚甲基化合物发生偶极环加成反应,合成了带手性丁烯内酯的1,2,3-三唑化合物(8b和8b)。3,7和8的结构经1HNMR,13CNMR,IR和HR-MS表征。探讨了合成反应的机理。     

气相色谱-质谱联用分析2-氯-5-三氯甲基吡啶

2-氯-5-三氯甲基吡啶是重要的农药中间体.采用气相色谱-质谱联用法,对高效除草剂盖草能的中间体2-氯-5-三氯甲基吡啶的分析条件进行了探讨和优化.使用Rts-5MS毛细管柱,EI电离源,实验结果的线性关系良好,相关系数r=0.9921,回收率为99.05%,相对标准偏差为0.78%.     

A new Cu(II)-5-(4-sulphophenylazo)-8-aminoquinoline complex used for copper determination in presence of gold and silver in water and mineral samples

In this work, a characterization of reagent chromophere 5-(4-sulphophenylazo)-8-aminoquinoline [SPA] by IR and ¹H RMN was carried out and a pK_a value of 3.55 ± 0.03 was found as well. An 1:2 stoichiometry for the Cu(II)-SPA complex was determined at pH 9 by Job and molar ratio methods. A value of 1.4 × 10¹⁴ for the stability constant was also found. Based on the formation of this complex a new method for the copper determination in presence of gold and silver was developed by derivative spectrophotometry using a previous preconcentration on solid phase. In this method, the analytical measures were executed directly in the solid phase containing the complex. The Cu(II) reacts with the reagent chromophere SPA previously retained in the anionic exchange DEAE Sephadex A25. In this determination, the first derivative at 605 nm was used. The quantification range was between (3.2 ± 0.3 × 10⁻¹) × 10⁻⁸ and (94.4 ± 0.9) × 10⁻⁸ mol L⁻¹ (3.2 ± 0.3 × 10⁻¹) × 10⁻⁸ , and (94.4 ± 0.9) × 10⁻⁸ mol L⁻¹. The repeatability expressed as RSD was between 1.1 and 2.0%. The method was applied successfully for the copper determination in mineral residuals and natural water samples. The results were consistent with those provided by ICP-mass spectrometry.     

Synthesis and activity of two trifluorinated analogues of 1-deoxy-d-xylulose 5-phosphate

An improved synthesis of 1,1,1-trifluoro-1-deoxy-d-xylulose 5-phosphate and an access to the reduced diastereomer mixture analogues 1,1,1-trifluoro-1-deoxy-d-xylitol 5-phosphate and 1,1,1-trifluoro-1-deoxy-d-lyxitol 5-phosphate are described. Inhibitor activity of all compounds on the MEP pathway for isoprenoid biosynthesis was evaluated.     

Short synthesis of 4-aryl-3-pyrrolin-2-ones

A three step, convergent synthesis of 4-aryl-3-pyrrolin-2-ones from a tetramic acid has been developed. The key transformation utilized a Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction between a 4-tosyloxy-3-pyrrolin-2-one and an arylboronic acid. This work also provides access to 4-arylpyrrolidin-2-ones, cyclic analogs of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA). Hydrogenation of 4-(4′-chlorophenyl)-3-pyrrolin-2-one proceeded smoothly to give baclofen lactam.
