The effects of cubic crystal fields on the saturation magnetic moment of Sm3+ ion in ferromagnetic compounds have been investigated. In samarium compounds with magnetic elements, the exchange fieldH
ex acting on Sm3+ ion is taken to be proportional to the sublattice magnetization of the magnetic element, while in compounds with nonmagnetic
elementsH
ex is taken to be proportional to the spin average of the Sm3+ ion and is determined self-consistently. In both types of compoundsH
ex is assumed to be along [001] direction. The saturation magnetic moment is calculated by taking into account the admixture
of excited (J=7/2 andJ=9/2) levels into the ground (J=5/2) level of Sm3+ ion by crystal fields and exchange fields. It is shown that depending upon the strength, the crystal fields quench or enhance
the magnetic moment from the free ion value, and in some cases force Sm3+ ion to behave effectively like an (L+S) ion rather than an (L−S)ion. The crystal fields may have important bearing on the performance of samarium compounds as permanent magnet materials. 相似文献

The heavy fermion state in the f-electron systems is due to competition between the RKKY interaction and the Kondo effect. The typical compound is CeCu6. To understand the electronic state, we studied the Fermi surface properties via the de Haas–van Alphen (dHvA) experiment and energy band calculation for CeSn3,CeRu2Si2,UPt3, and nowadays, transuranium compounds. Pressure is also an important technique to control the electronic state. The Néel temperature TN decreases with increasing pressure P and becomes zero at the critical pressure for . The typical compound is an antiferromagnet CeRhIn5, which we studied from the dHvA experiment under pressure. A change of the 4f-electronic state from localized to itinerant is realized at , revealing the first-order phase transition, together with a divergent tendency of the cyclotron mass at Pc. It is stressed that appearance of superconductivity in CeRhIn5 is closely related to the heavy fermion state. It is also noted that the parity-mixed novel superconducting state might be realized in a pressure-induced superconductor CeIrSi3 without inversion symmetry in the crystal structure. 相似文献

We enumerate lattice paths in the planar integer lattice consisting of positively directed unit vertical and horizontal steps with respect to a specific elliptic weight function. The elliptic generating function of paths from a given starting point to a given end point evaluates to an elliptic generalization of the binomial coefficient. Convolution gives an identity equivalent to Frenkel and Turaev's summation. This appears to be the first combinatorial proof of the latter, and at the same time of some important degenerate cases including Jackson's and Dougall's summation. By considering nonintersecting lattice paths we are led to a multivariate extension of the summation which turns out to be a special case of an identity originally conjectured by Warnaar, later proved by Rosengren. In this paper, the crystallization behaviour of amorphous Ge2Sb2Te5 thin films is investigated using differential scanning calorimetry), x-ray diffraction and optical transmissivity measurements. It is indicated that only the amorphous phase to face-centred-cubic phase transformation occurs during laser annealing of the normal phase-change structure, which is a benefit for raising the phase-change optical disk's carrier-to-noise ratio (CNR). For amorphous Ge2Sb2Te5 thin films, the crystallization temperature is about 200℃ and the melting temperature is 546.87℃. The activation energy for the crystallization, Ea, is 2.25eV. The crystallization dynamics for Ge2Sb2Te5 thin films obeys the law of nucleation and growth reaction. The sputtered Ge2Sb2Te5 films were initialized by an initializer unit. The initialization conditions have a great effect on the reflectivity contrast of the Ge2Sb2Te5 phase-change optical disk. 相似文献

The effects of annealing on structure and laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT) of Ta2O5/SiO2 dielectric mirrors were investigated. Ta2O5/SiO2 multilayer was prepared by ion beam sputtering (IBS), then annealed in air under the temperature from 100 to 400 °C. Microstructure of the samples was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD). Absorption of the multilayer was measured by surface thermal lensing (STL) technique. The laser-induced damage threshold was assessed using 1064 nm free pulsed laser at a pulse length of 220 μs.
It was found that the center wavelength shifted to long wavelength gradually as the annealing temperature increased, and kept its non-crystalline structure even after annealing. The absorbance of the reflectors decreased after annealing. A remarkable increase of the laser-induced damage threshold was found when the annealing temperature was above 250 °C. 相似文献
