Total synthesis of 3,3′:4′,3″-ter-1,2,5-thiadiazole using a synthetic utility of S4N4·SbCl5 complex

3,3′:4′,3″-Ter-1,2,5-thiadiazole, an useful oligoheterocyclic compound, has been accomplished in seven steps from 1-(5-methyl-3-isoxazolyl)ethanone or diethyl acetylenedicarboxylate using a synthetic utility of tetrasulfur tetranitride antimony pentachloride (S₄N₄·SbCl₅) complex to make a 1,2,5-thiadiazole ring.     

Oxazoline as a useful tool in organic synthesis: preparation of 4-aryl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline alkaloid skeleton

New direct strategy for the synthesis of 4-aryl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolines. The key steps are based on oxazoline chemistry: nucleophilic substitution in an ortho-methoxyphenyloxazoline with a Grignard reagent and a 1,6-conjugate addition of a lithium amide to o-styrylphenyloxazoline.     

Characterization of Saccharomyces Sp. through determination of amino acid profiles by capillary gas chromatography

The Saccharomyces strains uvarum, montuliensis, bayanus, capensis and florentinus were grown in liquid media prepared from a 1% aqueous glucose solution to which 0.05% of ammonium sulfate or urea were added as the only nitrogen supply. The amino acids exuded during incubation were isolated by cation exchange and derivatized as the corresponding N,O-heptafluorobutyryl isopropyl esters. Separation was achieved on a highly deactivated glass capillary column coated with OV-101. A characteristic amino acid profile was obtained for each of the species studied, allowing the construction of a chemotaxonomic tree, on the basis of present or absent acids.     

The Kissinger law and isokinetic effect: Part II. Experimental analysis

On the basis of copper sulphate pentahydrate thermal dissociation, for analyzed reactions I to IV, 6 thermokinetic equations was discussed. Arrhenius law parameters were determined and the isokinetic effect (IE) and Kissinger law appearing was analyzed. It was found that only dependence resulting from isokinetic effect, in the form k _m=q/T _m, relates to the suitable thermokinetic Eq. (2) and Kissinger law in modified form (14). The confirmation was made that the possibility of determining the averaged activation energy from thermokinetic equations using suitable correction coefficients exists.This revised version was published online in November 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

Interaction of (1-phenylethyl)indole-2-carbonitrile with C-nucleophiles

Methods of obtaining ketones and enamino esters have been developed on the basis of reactions of 1-(1-phenylethyl)indole-2-carbonitrile with organomagnesium and organozinc compounds. K对Mn—Co—O的结构及氧化活性的影响

利用XRD,TPD,TFD-MS及催化氧化反应等实验技术,研究了K对Mn-Co-O的结构及氧化活性的影响。XRD结果表明,Mn-Co-O系已形成反尖晶石型的MnCo_2O_4结构;K-Mn-Co-O系中除MnCo_2O_4型结构外,还有新相KMnO_2存在。根据O_2的TPD-MS及吡啶的TPD结果,Mn-Co-O中添加适量的K能提高供氧活性和增加供氧数目,但酸中心数目减少,强度降低。K对Mn-Co—O催化剂氧化活性的影响随反应物分子结构的不同而异,对乙酸乙脂、苯甲酰氯等极性有机物的完全氧化反应,K能提高氧化活性,但对苯、正己烷等非极性有机物的完全氧化反应,K使其活性降低。     

Investigation of the phosphinyl analog of α-ketoglutaric acid

It was shown by³¹P and¹³C NMR spectroscopy that methyl(3-carboxy-3-oxopropyl)phosphinic acid (4-methylhydroxyphosphinyl-2-oxobutyric acid) (1) and the amide (2) of the latter exist in keto forms in non-aqueous solutions. In aqueous solutions an equilibrium between the keto,gem-diol, and enol forms has been observed. The proportions of the diol and enol forms increase as the acidity of the media increases. Silylation of acid 1 with hexamethyldisilazane gives the tris(trimethylsilyl) derivative of enol form (3) (Z- andE-isomers).Translated fromIzyestiya Akadetnii Nauk. Voltammetry in Undiluted Acetic Acid. In Situ Determination of Water

Water present in undiluted acetic acid can be monitored in situ with Pt and Au microelectrodes using differential pulse and square‐wave voltammetries. Both reduction and oxidation peaks can be obtained. The best quantitative analytical results were obtained for the anodic peak, the Pt microelectrode, and differential pulse voltammetry. The anodic water peak is located at +1.55 V vs. the quasi reference Pt electrode. The voltammetric peak obtained at Pt electrode is apparently not a diffusional one, however, the calibration plot obtained by employing this peak is linear over a wide concentration range, up to 4 mol dm^?3. The detection limit has been estimated as 2.3 mM or 0.0043 v/v%. The developed method may be particularly useful, since the Karl Fischer method can not be used to determine water in glacial acetic acid due to the estrification reaction of acetic acid with methanol. A voltammetric wave of undiluted acetic acid could not be obtained in the positive and negative ranges of potential.     

The direct conversion of carbamates to ureas using aluminum amides

The conversion of carbamates into ureas using aluminum amide complexes is reported. This reaction is a convenient method to prepare bi-, tri- and tetra-substituted ureas from carbamate-protected primary or secondary amines by reaction with primary or secondary amines in the presence of stoichometric quantities of trimethylaluminum. A reactivity trend of the various carbamates was observed and methyl and benzyl carbamates were reacted selectively in the presence of t-butyl carbamates.     

Solid Phase Synthesis of 4H-Pyrimido[2,1-b] Benzothiazol-4-ones from Resin-Bound Cyclic Malonic Ester

The solid phase synthesis of 4H-pyrimido[2,1-6] benzothizaol-4-ones has been reported.
