One-Pot Synthesis of Thiazoles from Pyridazin-3-hydrazidic Acid Derivatives

Several new thiazole derivatives have been synthesized; the reactivity of these compounds toward amines, aldehydes, and hydroxyl amine are reported. New syntheses of pyrimidino[5,4:3,4]pyrazolo[4,3:5,6]pyridazine derivatives also have been achieved.

Synthesis and Characterization of Dichlorotin(IV)trithiophosphates and Their Adducts with Nitrogen Donor Bases

Abstract

Dichlorotin(IV)trithiophosphates [(RO)P(S)S ₂ ]SnCl ₂ were prepared by the reaction of methanolic solution of SnCl ₄ and dipotassium salt of trithiophosphates in a 1:1 molar ratio and their adducts [(RO)P(S)S ₂ ]SnCl _2.N ₂ C ₁₂ H ₈ and [(RO)P(S)S ₂ ]SnCl _2.N ₂ C ₁₀ H ₈ were prepared by the reaction of methanolic solution of [(RO)P(S)S ₂ ]SnCl ₂ and N-donor bases in a 1:1 molar ratio. These newly synthesised derivatives have been characterized by elemental analysis; molecular weight measurements; and IR, ¹³ C, ³¹ p and ¹¹⁹ Sn NMR spectral studies. Coordination number of four and six was suggested for dichlorotin (IV)trithiophosphates and their adducts with N-donor bases respectively.     

THE PREPARATION OF TRIALKYL PHOSPHITES DIRECTLY FROM THE ELEMENT

Abstract

The reaction between finely divided white phosphorus and several alkoxide ions in the presence of tetrachloromethane and excess of alcohol has been investigated under a variety of conditions. High yields of trialkylphosphite are obtained when two equivalents of alkoxide are used. With one equivalent of alkoxide, dialkylphosphonate is formed in comparable yield. Maximum yields of triester are obtained within 1–3 h at room temperature. Prolonged treatment results in the conversion of trialkylphosphite to phosphate by reaction with tetrachloromethane. Phenolate ions are unreactive under the same experimental conditions. The mechanism of the reaction is discussed.     

Synthesis and Characterization of Some Novel Dialkyldithiophosphate Derivatives of Macrocyclic Complexes of Pb(II) Having N2 S2 Potential Donors in 14- to 20-Membered Rings

Dialkyldithiophosphate derivatives of macrocyclic complexes of Pb(II), having N₂S₂ potential donors, of the general formula, [Pb(L)S₂P(OR)₂] (where L = macrocyclic ligands L¹, L², L³, L⁴ & L⁵ and R = CH₃-, C₃H₇ ⁿ- & C₃H₇ ⁱ-) have been Synthesized from the reactions of [Pb(L)X₂] (where X = Cl, NO₃, or CH₃COO) with sodium dialkyl dithiophosphates in 1:2 molar ratios in THF. Fifteen new derivatives have been synthesized by the combination of five macrocyclic complexes of 14–20 member rings with three different types of dialkyldithiophosphate. These compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, molecular weight determination, IR, ¹H NMR, ¹³C, and ³¹P NMR. Molecular weight determinations of these complexes indicate their monomeric nature. An octahedral structure is proposed.     

STEREOSELECTIVE VINYLATION OF METHYL-2-HYDROXY-3-NAPHTHOATE MEDIATED BY VINYL TRIPHENYLPHOSPHONIUM SALTS

Protonation of the highly reactive intermediate produced in the reaction between triphenylphosphine and dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylate 1a–c by methyl-2-hydroxy-3-naphthoate lead to vinyl triphenylphosphonium salts which undergo aromatic electrophilic substitution reaction with phenolate-conjugated base to produce 2a–c.     

The Unexpected Formation of a 2,2′-Di( N -ethyl-acetamino)substituted Diphenyl Disulfane on Oxidation of 3-Ethyl-2-methylbenzothiazolium Tetrafluoroborate

Attempts at the oxidation of 3-ethyl-2-methylbenzothiazolium salt 2 with a variety of oxidizing reagents did not lead to the desired isochiral S -oxide 3 or achiral S , S -dioxide 4 , in some cases, however, unexpectedly to the ring-opened dimeric 2,2'-di( N -ethyl-acetamino)substituted diphenyl disulfane 5 , the molecular structure of which was confirmed by x-ray analysis. The synthesis of 2-methylbenzothiazole- S , S -dioxide 14 , reported by Zincke et al. in 1915, turned out to be not reproducible. \centerline{\epsfbox{:art:fig-01.jpg}}     

Le Triflate de Bismuth(III) Comme Catalyseur Dans la Reaction de Carbonyl-Diels-Alder

In presence of bismuth(III) triflate, a carbonylated electrophile (ethyl mesoxalate or glyoxylate) and usual diene led selectively (60-100) the hetero carbonyl-Diels-Alder reaction with the ene reaction product. Bi(OTf) 3 exhibits strong catalytic activity and reacts under mild conditions. En présence de triflate de bismuth(III) le mésoxalate et le glyoxylate d'éthyle réagissent avec des diènes usuels pour donner un mélange de carbonyl-Diels-Alder et du produit de la ène réaction. Bi(OTf) 3 présente une forte activité catalytique et réagit dans des conditions douces.     

Synthesis and Antibacterial Studies of Some Novel 2-(Coumarin-3-yl)-5-mercapto-1,3,4-oxadiazoles Containing 2,4,6-Trisubstituted s-Triazine Derivatives

A new series of 2-(coumarin-3-yl)-5-mercapto-1,3,4-oxadiazoles based on various aryl thiourea/ureas incorporating a 1,3,5-s-triazine moiety is reported. The components of this series have been obtained by the reaction of cyanuric chloride (1) with 2-(coumarin-3-yl)-5-mercapto-1,3,4-oxadiazole (2). The prepared 2-{(coumarin-3-yl-1,3,4-oxadiazolyl)-5-thio}-4,6-dichloro-s-triazine (3) was subsequently treated with morpholine (4) to form 2-{(coumarin-3-yl-1,3,4-oxadiazolyl)-5-thio}-4-(morpholino)-6-chloro-s-triazine (5). This was further treated with various substituted aryl urea/thioureas (6a–k/7a–k) to afford the title compounds 8a–k and 9a–k, which were and tested for their antibacterial activity (MIC) against different microorganisms. The structures of the novel synthesized compound have been established on the basis of ¹H NMR and FT-IR data together with elemental analysis.
