Novel Copolymers of Vinyl Acetate and Alkyl Ring‐Substituted 2‐Phenyl‐1,1‐dicyanoethylenes

Electrophilic trisubstituted ethylene monomers, alkyl ring‐substituted 2‐phenyl‐1,1‐dicyanoethylenes, RC₆H₄CH?C(CN)₂ (where R is 2‐methyl, 3‐methyl,4‐methyl, 4‐ethyl, 4‐isopropyl, 4‐butyl, and 4‐t‐butyl), were synthesized by piperidine catalyzed Knoevenagel condensation of ring‐substituted benzaldehydes and malononitrile, and characterized by CHN elemental analysis, IR, ¹H‐ and ¹³C‐NMR. Novel copolymers of the ethylenes and vinyl acetate were prepared at equimolar monomer feed composition by solution copolymerization in the presence of a radical initiator (ABCN) at 70°C. The composition of the copolymers was calculated from nitrogen analysis, and the structures were analyzed by IR, ¹H and ¹³C‐NMR, GPC, DSC, and TGA. High T_g of the copolymers, in comparison with that of polyvinyl acetate, indicates a substantial decrease in chain mobility of the copolymer due to the high dipolar character of the trisubstituted ethylene monomer unit. The gravimetric analysis indicated that the copolymers decompose in the 190–700°C range.

采用紫外光谱法测定乙酸乙烯酯中对苯二酚含量时,乙酸乙烯酯中的有机杂质会对测试结果产生影响.其中乙醛、丙酮对测试结果的影响程度基本呈线性递增关系,而醋酸甲酯、醋酸乙酯对测试结果不会产生影响.     

Synthesis of 2,3‐Dihydro‐4H‐furo[3,2‐c] chromen‐4‐ones and 2,3‐Dihydronaphtho[2,3‐b]furan‐4,9‐diones by the Radical Cyclizations of Hydroxyenones with Electron-Rich Alkenes using Manganese(III) Acetate

We have obtained dihydrofurans 3a–j in the radical cyclization of 4‐hydroxycoumarin 1a and 2‐hydroxy‐1,4‐naphtoquinone 1b with electron rich alkenes 2a–i by manganese(III) acetate. Methods A and B, which have different molar ratios were studied comparatively in these reactions, and we observed that method B (molar ratio 2:1:3) gave the best results. Treatment of 4‐hydroxycoumarin 1a and electron rich alkenes 2a–e gave 2,3‐dihydro‐4H‐furo[3,2‐c]chromen‐4‐ones 3a–e in 36–86% yields by the method B. Under the same conditions, the reactions of 2‐hydroxy‐1,4‐naphtaquinone 1b with conjugated alkenes 2b and 2f–i afforded 2,3‐dihydronaphtho[2,3‐b]furan‐4,9‐diones 3f–j in an excellent yields.     

A CONVENIENT SYNTHESIS OF 2,4-DIARYLPOLYHYDROQUINOLINE DERIVATIONS IN THE PRESENCE OF AMMONIUM ACETATE

ABSTRACT

A series of substituted 5-oxo-1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8-octahydroquinoline derivatives have been synthesized from 5,5-dimethyl-1,3-cyclohexane-dione (dimedone) and 1,3-diaryl-2-propen-1-one in DMF at 80°C in the presence of ammonium acetate with high yields (64–98%), the structure of the product was confirmed by X-ray analysis.     

New Cyclization Route to the Skeletons of Lennoxamine and Chilenine

A new cyclization route, triggered by epoxide opening, has been performed to provide the key intermediates for isoindolobenzapine alkaloids, lennoxamine and chilenine. The epoxide was prepared by the Stille reaction using vinyltributylstannane and the following dioxirane treatment. Cyclization under the treatment of BF₃ · OEt₂ provided an azepine moiety, and the oxidative cyclization toward the known precursor for the alkaloids has been achieved by reaction with a stoichiometric amount of Pd(OAc)₂. This formal synthesis suggests a new route to the alkaloids.     

Four-Component,One-Pot Synthesis of 2-Aryl-4-Thionylquinoline Derivatives and Their Aromatization

Four-component, one-pot condensation of dimedon, thiophene-2-carbaldehyde, ammonium acetate, and numerous acetophenones yielded novel 2-aryl-4-thionylquinoline derivatives. The structures were characterized by ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR, IR, and elemental analysis.     

Studies towards the Synthesis of Alkyl N‐(4‐Nitrophenyl)‐3/2‐oxomorpholine‐2/3‐carboxylates

The syntheses of methyl 4‐(4‐nitrophenyl)‐3‐oxomorpholine‐2‐carboxylate ( 3a ) and ethyl 4‐(4‐nitrophenyl)‐2‐oxomorpholine‐3‐carboxylate ( 5b ), important building blocks for the synthesis of factor Xa inhibitor rivaroxaban analogs with potential dual antithrombotic activity, via Rh₂(OAc)₄‐catalyzed O? H and N? H carbene insertion reactions are described.     

Stereoselective Synthesis of (Z)‐ and (E)‐Allyl Aryl Sulfides and Selenides from Baylis?Hillman Acetates under Neutral Conditions Using β‐Cyclodextrin in Water

The first example of the stereoselective synthesis of (Z)‐ and (E)‐allyl aryl sulfides and selenides from Baylis? Hillman acetates under neutral conditions in H₂O by supramolecular catalysis involving β‐cyclodextrin is reported. β‐Cyclodextrin can be recovered and reused. The reaction is very efficient in providing allyl aryl sulfides and selenides in good‐to‐excellent yields with clean reaction profiles under mild reaction conditions.     

Microwave‐Induced Conversion of Acid Hydrazides to N,N′‐Diacylhydrazines in Solvent‐Free Conditions

A new and efficient method of converting acid hydrazides 1 to the corresponding N,N′‐diacylhydrazines 2 under microwave irradiation and in solvent‐free conditions has been described.
