Interaction of polyfluoroalkyl-containing aziridinyl ketones with hydrogen halides

Polyfluoroalkyl-containing aziridinyl ketones, unlike their nonfluorinated analogs, react with hydrogen halides to give only -halo- -anvnoketones or their hydrogen halide salts. Fluorescent Molecular Recognition and Sensing System of Bis-Dansyl Modified γ-Cyclodextrins

Flexible hosts, 6A,6B-; 6A,6C-; 6A,6D-; and 6A,6E-bis dansylglycine-modified -cyclodextrins (-1, -2, -3, and -4, respectively) have been synthesized as a sensing molecule for organic guests including terpenoids and bile acids. These host compounds show a pure monomer fluorescence whose intensity is decreased or enhanced upon addition of guest species. The value I/I₀, where I and I₀ are fluorescence intensities in the presence and absence of a guest and I is I₀- I, was used as a parameter of sensitivity. These hosts exhibit highly sensitive and selective molecular recognition ability, particularly, for lithochoic acid, chenodeoxycholic acid, and ursodeoxycholic acid. The behaviors of the appended moieties of these hosts when host–guest complexation occurs are studied by induced circular dichroism (ICD) spectra and fluorescence spectral change on accommodation of a guest. The ICD pattern of these hosts alone or on accommodation of a guest is very similar, indicating that the behavior of the appended moieties are very similar. The guest-induced variations in the fluorescence or ICD intensity suggest that the appended moieties act as a hydrophobic cap that enables the cyclodextrin to form 1 : 1 host–guest complexes.     

Atom-surface elastic scattering in the presence of laser radiation

A qualitative discussion on atom-surface elastic scattering taking place in the presence of laser radiation is given. SO4●－自由基氧化酪氨酸反应中的溶剂效应

研究了水-乙腈混合溶液中SO4●－自由基氧化酪氨酸的反应.实验结果表明，SO4●－自由基氧化酪氨酸的反应机制不因乙腈的加入而改变，但所产生的瞬态粒子的动力学行为受到较大影响.随介质中乙腈体积分数的增加，SO4●－的衰变速率减慢而酪氨酸中性自由基（TyrO●）的衰变速率加快.我们认为这两种自由基所呈现出来的相反的溶剂效应是由于其所带电荷的不同.随介质中乙腈体积分数的增加，SO4●－氧化酪氨酸的反应速率减慢.这一实验结果意味着，在有机溶剂存在的情况下TyrO●/ TyrOH的氧化还原电势可能发生了变化，从而旁证了关于TyrO●/ TyrOH的氧化还原电势因酪氨酸从游离状态变到肽或蛋白质中而发生变化的推测.     

Modular design of icosahedral metal clusters

The concept of crystalline module, that is, an unambiguously isolated, repeated quasi-molecular element, is introduced. This concept is more general than the concept of crystal lattice. The generalized modular approach allows extension of the methods and principles of crystallography to quasi-crystals, clusters, amorphous solids, and periodic biological structures. Principles of construction of aperiodic, nonequilibrium regular modular structures are formulated. Limitations on the size of icosahedral clusters are due to the presence of spherical shells with non-Euclidean tetrahedral tiling in their structure. A parametric relationship between the structures of icosahedral fullerenes and metal clusters of the Chini series was found.     

A stereoselective synthesis of (2R,3S)-2-amino-3,4-dihydroxybutyric acid using an ether directed aza-Claisen rearrangement

A new approach for the stereoselective synthesis of (2R,3S)-2-amino-3,4-dihydroxybutyric acid, an α-amino acid from Lyophyllum ulmarium, has been accomplished using an ether directed aza-Claisen rearrangement. On investigation of optimal conditions for this key step it was shown for the first time that Au(I) can be used to catalyse this transformation.     

Photochemically induced fluorescence investigation of aβ-cyclodextrin: Azure A inclusion complex and determination of analytical parameters

The photooxidation of Azure A and fluorescence properties of Azure A and its photoproduct have been investigated in aqueous media and in the presence of-cyclodextrin (-CD). The fluorescence intensity of the complex formed between the photoproduct and -CD was found to be three times higher than that of the uncomplexed Azure A photoproduct. A complex formation constant of 110±40 M^–1 was calculated using the Benesi-Hildebrand treatment of the fluorescence emission data. Although the stoichiometry of the Azure A photoproduct: -CD complex was found to be 1: 1, it seems that the Azure A structure is only partially included. Calibration graphs were plotted for the free Azure A photoproduct and the photogenerated product included in -CD. The analytical parameters and quantification limits were determined.
