Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) has been applied to the direct analysis of powdered tungsten carbide hard-metal precursors and cemented tungsten carbides. The aim of this work was to examine the possibility of quantitative determination of the niobium, titanium, tantalum and cobalt. The investigated samples were in the form of pellets, pressed with and without binder (powdered silver) and in the form of cemented tungsten carbides. The pellets were prepared by pressing the powdered material in a hydraulic press. Cemented tungsten carbides were embedded in resin for easier manipulation.
Several lasers and detection systems were utilized. The Nd:YAG laser working at a basic wavelength of 1064 nm and fourth-harmonic frequency of 266 nm with a gated photomultiplier or ICCD detector HORIBA JY was used for the determination of niobium which was chosen as a model element. Different types of surrounding gases (air, He, Ar) were investigated for analysis. The ICCD detector DICAM PRO with Mechelle 7500 spectrometer with ArF laser (193 nm) and KrF laser (248 nm) were employed for the determination of niobium, titanium, tantalum and cobalt in samples under air atmosphere. Good calibration curves were obtained for Nb, Ti, and Ta (coefficients of determination r2 > 0.96). Acceptable calibration curves were acquired for the determination of cobalt (coefficient of determination r2 = 0.7994) but only for the cemented samples. In the case of powdered carbide precursors, the calibration for cobalt was found to be problematic. 相似文献
The density functional theory and the cluster model methods have been employed to investigate the interactions between ethanethiol and HZSM-5 zeolites. Molecular complexes formed by the adsorption of ethanethiol on silanol H3SiOH with two coordination forms, model Bronsted acid sites of zeolite cluster H3Si(OH)Al(OH)2SiH3 interaction with ethanethiol, aluminum species adsorbed ethanethiol have been comparatively studied. Full optimization and frequency analysis of all cluster models have been carried out using B3LYP hybrid method at 3-21G basis level for hydrogen atoms and 6-31G(d) basis set level for silicon, aluminum, oxygen, carbon, and sulfur atoms. The structures and energy changes of different coordination forms of H3Si(OH)Al(OH)2SiH3-ethanethiol, silanol-ethanethiol and Al(OH)3-ethanethiol have been studied. The calculated results showed the nature of interactions was van der Waals force as exhibited by not much change in geometric structures and properties. The preference order of ethanethiol adsorbed on HZSM-5 zeolite may be residual aluminum species, bridging hydroxyl groups and silanol OH groups from the adsorption heat. The adsorbed models of protonized ethanethiol on bridging hydroxyl OH groups and linear hydrogen bonded ethanethiol on bridging OH groups suggested in literature might not exist as revealed by this theoretical calculation. Possible adsorption models were obtained for the first time. 相似文献
The structures and energies of the 1:1 acetylene/cyanoacetylene, acetylene/dicyanoacetylene and cyanoacetylene/dicyanoacetylene complexes in solid argon matrices have been investigated using FT-IR spectroscopy and ab initio calculations, at the B3LYP/6-31G** level of theory. For the three complexes, predicted frequency shifts for the L shaped structures, characterized by a hydrogen bond between the nitrogen of the cyano group and the acetylenic proton, were found to be in good agreement with those experimental. Only in the case of acetylene/cyanoacetylene complex, we obtained a second minimum with a T shaped structure characterized by an interaction between the proton of cyanoacetylene and the Π system of acetylene. It appears clearly that HC3N acts as an electrophile or as a nucleophile in these complexes. 相似文献
A set is amorphous, if it is not a union of two disjoint infinite subsets. The following variants of the Tychonoff product theorem are investigated in the hierarchy of weak choice principles. TA1: An amorphous power of a compactT2 space is compact. TA2: An amorphous power of a compactT2 space which as a set is wellorderable is compact. In ZF0TA1 is equivalent to the assertion, that amorphous sets are finite. RT is Ramsey's theorem, that every finite colouring of the set ofn-element subsets of an infinite set has an infinite homogeneous subset and PW is Rubin's axiom, that the power set of an ordinal is wellorderable. In ZF0RT+PW implies TA2. Since RT+PW is compatible with the existence of infinite amorphous sets, TA2 does not imply TA1 in ZF0. But TA2 cannot be proved in ZF0 alone. As an application, we prove a theorem of Stone, using a weak wellordering axiomD3 (a set is wellorderable, if each of its infinite subsets is structured) together with RT.

Thermoanalytical studies on specialty polymers in Japan are reviewed. The basic and applied researches for the developments
of new specialty polymers such as high-performance polymers, liquid crystalline polymers, and biodegradable polymers during
the 1990's are introduced from the standpoint of thermal analysis. Many studies were performed for the improvements of durability
and thermal stability of engineering polymers, biodegradable polymers and so on. A special topic of researches on the thermal
behavior of polymers by high-pressure differential thermal analysis is included in this review.

Summary The variational formulation of multivariate spline functions is generalized to include cases where the function has to satisfy inequality constraints such as positivity and convexity. Condition for existence and uniqueness of a solution is given. Approximation to the solution can be obtained by solving the variational problem in a finite dimensional subspace. Conditions for convergence and error estimates of the approximations are presented, both for interpolation problems and smoothing problems. The general theory is illustrated by specific examples including the volume-matching problem and the one-sided thin plate spline. This research is partially supported by the U.S. Army Contract No. DAAG 29-77-G-0207, and by NSF Grant No. MCS-8101836Part of this paper is based on Chapters 2 and 3 of the author's Ph. Summary The paper concerns solution manifolds of nonlinear parameterdependent equations (1)F(u, )=y0 involving a Fredholm operatorF between (infinite-dimensional) Banach spacesX=Z× andY, and a finitedimensional parameter space . Differntial-geometric ideas are used to discuss the connection between augmented equations and certain onedimensional submanifolds produced by numerical path-tracing procedures. Then, for arbitrary (finite) dimension of , estimates of the error between the solution manifold of (1) and its discretizations are developed. These estimates are shown to be applicable to rather general nonlinear boundaryvalue problems for partial differential equations. This work was in part supported by the U.S. Air Force Office of Scientific Research under Grant 80-0176, the National Science Foundation under Grant MCS-78-05299, and the Office of Naval Research under Contract N-00014-80-C-0455 相似文献
Summary The quartic periodic and nonperiodic X-spline are separated from the class of all piecewise-quartic interpolatory polynomials and their orders of convergence, smoothness and complexity of construction are examined. In particular, error estimates of interpolation of smooth functions at uniformly spaced knots by eight quartic X-splines of special interest are presented. The results are illustrated by a numerical example. 相似文献
