The optical absorption coefficients and the changes in the refractive index in GaAs/AlGaAs parabolic quantum dots(QDs) with applied electric and magnetic fields are studied in detail. Analytical expressions for the linear and nonlinear intersubband absorption coefficients and refractive index changes are obtained by using a compact density matrix approach and an iterative procedure. Finally, the calculated results show the incident optical intensity, the frequencies of the confined potential of the QDs and the applied electric and magnetic fields have a great influence on the optical absorption coefficients and refractive index changes in this system.  相似文献

The Langevin equation is classically used to model the anhysteretic magnetization curve. A modified version of this equation has been introduced by Jiles to take into account the effects of magnetostriction on the anhysteretic magnetization behavior when a ferromagnetic material undergoes mechanical stresses. The numerical resolution of the modified Langevin equation is usually performed with a root-finding algorithm. In this paper, a differential form of the modified Langevin equation is proposed, allowing a faster numerical resolution.  相似文献

The nonlinear Schrödinger equation which governs the dynamics of two-dimensional spatial solitons in Kerr media with periodically varying diffraction and nonlinearity has been analyzed in this paper using variational approach and numerical studies. Analytical expressions for soliton parameters have been derived using variational analysis. Variational equations and partial differential equation have been simulated numerically. Analytical and numerical studies have shown that nonlinearity management and diffraction management stabilize the pulse against decay or collapse providing undisturbed propagation even for larger energies of the incident beam.  相似文献

In this work, a new model of the magneto-thermoelasticity theory has been constructed in the context of a new consideration of heat conduction with fractional derivative. A one-dimensional application for a conducting half-space of thermoelectric elastic material, which is thermally shocked in the presence of a magnetic field, has been solved using Laplace transform and state-space techniques (Ezzat, 2008 [1]). According to the numerical results and its graphs, a conclusion about the new theory of magneto-thermoelasticity has been constructed. The theories of coupled magneto-thermoelasticity and of generalized magneto-thermoelasticity with one relaxation time follow as limited cases. The result provides a motivation to investigate conducting thermoelectric materials as a new class of applicable materials.  相似文献

In this paper we have solved the two-body spinless-Salpeter (SS) equation under the Coulomb and exponential type potentials. We have applied an approximation for the centrifugal term in our calculations. This work reveals a novel phenomenon—that the localized coherent structures of a (2﹢1)﹣dimensional physical model possesses fractal behaviours. To clarify the interesting phenomenon, we take the (2﹢1)﹣dimensional higher-order Broer-Kaup system as a concrete example. Starting from a B?cklund transformation, we obtain a linear equation, and then a general solution of the system is derived. From this some special localized excitations with fractal behaviours are obtained by introducing some types of lower-dimensional fractal patterns that related to Jacobian elliptic functions.  相似文献

Adiabatic and diabatic study for all the states dissociating below the ionic limit [i.e., Na (3s, 3p, 4s, 3d, 4p, 5s, 4d, and 4f) + H (1s)] in 1Σ+ and 3Σ+ symmetries are presented. Adiabatic results are also reported for 1,3Π and 1,3Δ symmetries. Pseudo-potential, operatorial core-valence correlation, and full valence CI approaches combined with an efficient diabatization procedure are used in these ab initio calculations. Our vibrational-level spacings and spectroscopic constants are in good agreement with the available experimental data for the low-lying states. Diabatic potentials and dipole moments are analyzed, revealing the strong imprint of the ionic state in the 1Σ+ adiabatic states. The hydrogen electron affinity correction was taken into account by the use of the efficient diabatization method. This leads to a better agreement with the available experimental data. Experimental suggestions are also given for the higher excited states based on their unusual behavior.  相似文献

In the real-world application of face recognition system, owing to the difficulties of collecting samples or storage space of systems, only one sample image per person is stored in the system, which is so-called one sample per person problem. Moreover, pose and illumination have impact on recognition performance. We propose a novel pose and illumination robust algorithm for face recognition with a single training image per person to solve the above limitations. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is an efficient and practical approach for face recognition.  相似文献

We use the variational approach (VA) and the split-step Fourier transforms (SSFT) to study the transmission and switching characteristics inside the fiber nonlinear directional coupler (NDLC). The results, based on the VA, indicate that the second-order coupling coefficient dispersion and initiative chirp all reduce the coupling length, and the second-order coupling coefficient dispersion makes the switching characteristics become sharper and threshold power become bigger under the case of not having initiative chirp. The outcomes, based on the SSFT, indicate that the first order intermodal dispersion coefficient make optical pulses splitting in the propagation of fundamental solitons, and the second-order coupling coefficient dispersion reduces the coupling length, sharpens the switching characteristics and increases the switching threshold power, the results agrees well with those from the VA.  相似文献
