A model of globally coupled bistable systems consisting of two kinds of sites, subject to periodic driving and spatially uncorrelated
stochastic force, is investigated. The extended system models the competing process of activators and suppressers. Analytical
computations for linear response of the system to the external periodic forcing is carried out. Noise-induced Hopf bifurcation
is revealed, and stochastic resonance, sensitively depending on the frequency of the external forcing, is predicted under
the Hopf bifurcation condition. Numerical simulations agree with the analytical predictions satisfactorily.

We investigate the Hopf bifurcation of the synchronous chaos in
coupled Lorenz oscillators. We find that the system undergoes a
phase transition along the Hopf instability of the synchronous
chaos. The phase transition makes the traveling wave component
with the phase difference φ(i)-φ(i+1)=2π/N between
adjacent sites unstable. The phase transition also plays a role to
relate the Hopf bifurcation with the co-dimension two bifurcation

以单向驱动耦合Lorenz振子一维链为研究对象,研究振子间的混沌同步行为. 数值计算结果表明,对于变量y驱动x的耦合方式,在合适的耦合强度下,会出现第一个振子和第二个振子不同步,而与次近邻非直接连接的振子(如第三个振子)近似同步. 进一步研究表明,出现这一现象的原因是在大耦合强度下,对于这种驱动方式,第一个振子和第二个振子间出现驱动单变量近似同步;虽然它们之间未出现所有变量的完全同步,但是驱动信号事实上已经传递下去了.

The influence of fiber dispersion on the code form of the optical mm-wave signal generated by single sideband intensity-modulation 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
We have theoretically investigated the transmission performance of the optical mm-wave generation by using an external modulator based on single sideband (SSB) intensity modulation. Though the SSB millimeter (mm)-wave can immune the fading effect, the baseband signals with a high bit rate are degraded greatly after transmission along fiber. The main reason is that the fiber dispersion causes the time shift of the code edges; therefore the maximum transmission distance of the baseband signals is limited. The experimental and simulation results agree well with our theoretical analysis. We also propose a novel scheme to extend the transmission distance. In this novel scheme, the data signals are modulated only onto one of the two optical carriers; hence the shift of the code edges in the down-converted signals after transmission is eliminated. 相似文献

The ground state entanglement in an isotropic three-qubit transverse XY chain with energy current is analysed. A quantum phase transition from a no-energy-current phase to energy-current phase is found when the magnetic field changes. The generation of a flat supercontinuum of over 80nm in the 1550nm region by injecting 1.6ps 10 GHz repetition rate optical pulses into an 80-m-long dispersion-flattened microstructure fibre is demonstrated. The fibre has small normal dispersion with a variation smaller than 1.5 (ps·nm^-1·km^-1) between 1500 and 1650nm. The generated supercontinuum ranging from 1513 to 1591 nm has the flatness of ±1.5 dB and it is not so flat in the range of several nanometres around the pump wavelength 1552nm. Numerical simulation is also used to study the effect of optical loss, fibre parameters and pumping conditions on supercontinuum generation in the dispersion-flattened microstructure fibre, and can be used for further optimization to generate flat broad spectra. 相似文献

We successfully investigate an optical bistability phenomenon in a layered structure consisting of Kretschmann configuration involving the Kerr-type nonlinear and the silver film. Pure theoretical approaches are employed to investigate that the surface plasmon could easily be coupled and both the reflection and transmission curves versus the incident intensity forms optical bistability. The transmission curves are greatly influenced by the thickness of the second silver film. These results may be useful for designing novel surface plasmon-based optical devices and will be essential for future classical and quantum information processes. 相似文献

We experimentally demonstrate amplitude squeezed soliton utilizing intensity-dependent self-phase modulation in an asymmetric Sagnac interferometer. The system, whose components are connected via ferrule connector/physical connection (FC/PC) fiber connectors, constitutes all-fiber configuration to generate squeezed soliton. Soliton amplitude reduction measured by homodyne detection is near 4.0 dB below the shot-noise level. Optimal squeezing fields in both simple and compact all-fiber configuration are obtained. 相似文献
