Electronic structure and optical properties of boron-sulfur symmetric codoping in 4 × 4 graphene systems

The electronic structure and optical properties of boron-doped, sulfur-doped, andboron-sulfur-codoped graphene systems have been studied by using first-principlescalculations. Energy band structure and density of states are presented to describe theelectronic properties. The doping can open the band gap and change the optical propertiesof graphene. For all optical properties of doped graphene systems, parallel(E _∥) polarization and perpendicular(E _⊥) polarization are presented. Theoptical properties under two kinds of polarizations are reflected in the range of peakheight and the change of some extraordinary features.     

Fault tolerant deterministic secure quantum communication using logical Bell states against collective noise

This study proposes two novel fault tolerant deterministic secure quantum communication(DSQC) schemes resistant to collective noise using logical Bell states. Either DSQC scheme is constructed based on a new coding function, which is designed by exploiting the property of the corresponding logical Bell states immune to collective-dephasing noise and collective-rotation noise, respectively. The secret message can be encoded by two simple unitary operations and decoded by merely performing Bell measurements, which can make the proposed scheme more convenient in practical applications.Moreover, the strategy of one-step quanta transmission, together with the technique of decoy logical qubits checking not only reduces the influence of other noise existing in a quantum channel, but also guarantees the security of the communication between two legitimate users. The final analysis shows that the proposed schemes are feasible and robust against various well-known attacks over the collective noise channel.     

Molecular engineering of CxNy: Topologies,electronic structures and multidisciplinary applications

As a class of metal-free two-dimensional (2D) semiconductor materials, polymeric carbon nitrides have attracted wide attention recently due to its facile regulation of the molecular and electronic structures, availability in abundance and high stability. According to the different ratios of C and N atoms in the framework, a series of C_xN_y materials have been successfully synthesized by virtue of various precursors, which further triggers extensive investigations of broad applications ranging from sustainable photocatalytic reactions and highly sensitive optoelectronic biosensing. In view of topological structures on their electronic structures and material properties, the as-reported C_xN_y could be generally classified into two main categories with three- or six-bond-extending frameworks. Owing to the effective n→π* transition in most C_xN_y materials, the relative energy level of the lone-pair electrons on N atoms is high, which thus endows the materials with the capability of visible light absorption. Meanwhile, the different repeating units, bridging groups and defect sites of these two kinds of C_xN_y allow them to effectively drive a diverse of promising applications that require specific electronic, interfacial and geometric properties. This review paper aims to summarize the recent progress in topological structure design and the relevant electronic band structures and striking properties of C_xN_y materials. In the final part, we also discuss the existing challenges of C_xN_y and outlook the prospect possibilities.     

两台恒速机上的MapReduce排序算法研究

研究源自于MapReduce系统的一类排序问题。给定两台恒速机和一组按列表到达的工件，每个工件包含两类任务：Map Task和Reduce Task。假设Map任务和Reduce任务都是不可中断的，Map任务可以并行处理，即可以任意分割成若干小的任务并在两台机器上同时处理，而Reduce任务只可以在单台机器上处理。一旦工件到达，必须为其指派机器和开工时间，目标是使得最后完工时间最小。对LSc算法的竞争比进行了分析，得到其一般情形下的竞争比当$s\geq（1+\sqrt{5}）/2$时为$1+1/s$，否则为$1+s/（s+1）$。而当每个工件$J_j$都满足其Map任务总长大于等于Reduce任务总长时，其竞争比当$s\geq（1+\sqrt{3}）/2$时不超过$1+1/（2s）$，否则为不超过$1+s/（2s+1）$。     

Evolutionary games with facilitators: When does selection favor cooperation?

We study the combined influence of selection and random fluctuations on the evolutionary dynamics of two-strategy (“cooperation” and “defection”) games in populations comprising cooperation facilitators. The latter are individuals that support cooperation by enhancing the reproductive potential of cooperators relative to the fitness of defectors. By computing the fixation probability of a single cooperator in finite and well-mixed populations that include a fixed number of facilitators, and by using mean field analysis, we determine when selection promotes cooperation in the important classes of prisoner’s dilemma, snowdrift and stag-hunt games. In particular, we identify the circumstances under which selection favors the replacement and invasion of defection by cooperation. Our findings, corroborated by stochastic simulations, show that the spread of cooperation can be promoted through various scenarios when the density of facilitators exceeds a critical value whose dependence on the population size and selection strength is analyzed. We also determine under which conditions cooperation is more likely to replace defection than vice versa.     

Broadband Convergence of 40 GHz-ROF and 10-Gb/s WDM-PON Systems in the Duplex Access Network

A broadly converged 40G-ROF and 10-Gb/s WDM-PON multi-service access system is proposed and exper- imentally demonstrated. This scheme consists of an integrated system of 40G-ROF and 10-Gb/s WDM-PON simultaneously transmitting independent 2.5-Gb/s wireless and 10-Gb/s wire signal. At the base station, it employs a remodulation scheme, which is achieved by remodulating the upstream OOK signal on the DPSK downstream signal, to reduce the cost of the base station. The transmission experiment is carried out over a 25-km-long single mode fiber （SMF-28）. The results show that the sensitivities of downstream PON and ROF signal are -14.5 dBm and -21.5 dBm, respectively, and the sensitivity of upstream signal is -25.3 dBm.     

Transition to Amplitude Death in Coupled System with Small Number of Nonlinear Oscillators

In this work, we investigate the amplitude death in coupled system with small number of nonlinear oscillators. We show how the transitions to the partial and the complete amplitude deathes happen. We also show that the partial amplitude death can be found in globally coupled oscillators either.     

Analysis of current voltage characteristics of MWIR homojunction photodiodes for uncooled operation

Dark currents n⁺/ν/p⁺ Hg_0.69Cd_0.31Te mid wave infrared photodiodes were measured at room temperature. The diodes exhibited negative differential resistance at room-temperature, but with increasing leakage currents as a function of reverse bias. The current–voltage characteristics were simulated and fitted by incorporating trap assisted tunneling via traps and Shockley–Read–Hall generation recombination process due to dislocations in the carrier transport equations. The thermal suppression of carriers was simulated by taking energy level of trap (E_t), trap density (N_t) and the doping concentrations of n⁺ and ν regions as fitting parameters. Values of E_t and N_t were 0.78E_g and ～6–9 × 10¹⁴ cm^?3 respectively for most of the diodes. Variable temperature current voltage measurements on variable area diode array (VADA) structures confirmed the fact that variation in zero bias resistance area product (R₀A) is related to g–r processes originating from variation in concentration and kind of defects that intersect a junction area.
