Determination of V(V), Nb(V) and Ta(V) as their 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-diethylaminophenol chelates by reversed-phase HPLC

This paper reports the separation and determination of V(V), Nb(V) and Ta(V) by RP-HPLC using 5-Br-PADAP as a precolumn derivatizing reagent. On C(18) column, the three metal chelates can be separated on a baseline in 9 min with the mobile phase of methanol-water (59:41, v/v) containing tartaric acid (0.2%) and acetate buffer (pH 3.5, 10 mM). The detection limits of V(V), Nb(V) and Ta(V) are 0.13 ppb, 0.22 ppb and 1.79 ppb, respectively when S/N is 3. This method is simple and rapid, and has been used in mineral analysis with satisfactory results.     

Determination of hopane biomarkers in Arabian crude oils by gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry

Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry with the mass spectrometer operated in the tandem mode at a constant accelerating voltage was used to analyse for triterpanes in Arabian crude oils. Specific molecular parent-daughter ion pairs were selected for quantitative measurements owing to their metastable transitions in the first field-free region. More accurate relative distribution ratios of hydrocarbon biomarkers were determined by this sequential gating technique than by the conventional diagnostic daughter ion mass fragmentogram in common GC-MS. The data and spectra obtained from MS-MS operation may serve as unique “fingerprints” for these regional crudes     

The effect of additives on the water solubilization capacity and conductivity in n-pentanol microemulsions

The influence of additives such as sodium salicylate and sodium chloride on the water solubilization capacity of AOT in n-pentanol solutions has been investigated. The water solubilization capacity is enhanced by sodium salicylate and decreased by sodium chloride. The percolation behavior of the water/AOT/n-pentanol system is studied by modifying the water concentration and temperature. No percolation threshold induced by water or temperature is detected either in the absence or in the presence of additives. The values of ln sigma have a linear correlation with temperature in the range of 5-40 degrees C. The activation energy is also estimated and discussed.     

贫水电解质体系制备多孔阳极氧化铝模板的研究

在有机溶剂为主的含草酸电解质中,研究了大孔径有序度高的阳极氧化铝(AAO)的一步法电化学制备.实验证实,电解质中水含量的降低能够有效抑制铝的电氧化速率和溶解速率,使得其氧化膜孔道的生长能够稳定进行,所得到的六方孔道排列有序度明显高于纯水溶剂制备的电解质体系下的产物.考察了水含量、有机溶剂种类以及电解质浓度对AAO模板孔道形貌的影响.结果表明,有机溶剂贫水电解质体系使得电氧化电压的选取范围比水溶液电解质体系更宽,孔径连续可调,反应条件温和.该方法适合于制备均匀大孔径的AAO模板.     

Independent generation of 5-(2'-deoxycytidinyl)methyl radical and the formation of a novel cross-link lesion between 5-methylcytosine and guanine

Reactive oxygen species (ROS) can damage DNA. Although a number of single nucleobase lesions induced by ROS have been structurally characterized, only a few intrastrand cross-link lesions have been identified and characterized, and all of them involve adjacent thymine and guanine or adenine. In mammalian cells, the cytosines at CpG sites are methylated. On the basis of the similar reactivity of 5-methylcytosine and thymine toward hydroxyl radical and the similar orientation of adjacent thymine guanine (TG) and 5-methylcytosine guanine (mCG) in B-DNA, we predict that the cross-link lesion, which was identified in TG and has a covalent bond formed between the 5-methyl carbon atom of T and the C8 carbon atom of G, should also form at mCG site. Here, we report for the first time the independent generation of 5-(2'-deoxycytidinyl)methyl radical, and our results demonstrate that this radical can give rise to the predicted novel intrastrand cross-link lesion in dinucleoside monophosphates d(mCG) and d(GmC). Furthermore, we show that the cross-link lesion can also form in d(mCG) from gamma irradiation under anaerobic conditions.     

氟硅烷自组装单分子膜的制备及其摩擦学性能

利用分子自组装技术制备了全氟辛酰胺丙基硅烷单分子膜,用X射线光电子能谱(XPS)对组装膜的表面元素进行了表征;接触角测试表明,该组装膜具有很好的疏水-疏油性,其对水的接触角高达105°,对正十六烷的接触角为50°.摩擦磨损实验结果表明,全氟辛酰胺丙基硅烷自组装单分子膜可以大大降低基片的摩擦系数,使载玻片的摩擦系数从0.85左右降低到0.14左右,而且低负荷下具有很好的耐磨性.     

A comparative study on photo-induced electron transfer from fluorescein to anthraquinone and injection into colloidal TiO2

A dyad-anthraquinone-methyl ester of fluorescein-and its model compound-butyl ester-were synthesized. The effects of photo-induced electron transfer from fluorescein to an organic anthraquinone acceptor and injection into inorganic colloidal TiO(2) were studied respectively. It is found that the photo-induced electron transferring to an organic acceptor is much faster than injecting into inorganic colloidal particles when fluorescein was excited by visible light. While inorganic colloidal TiO(2) was excited by UV, the electron of fluorescein will inject into TiO(2).     

Voltammetric studies of the effect of Cisplatin-liposome on Hela cells

In this paper, the voltammetric method was used for the first time to study the effect of Cisplatin-liposome on Hela cells. The results showed the voltammetric behavior of Hela cells was irreversible and the peak current had linear relationship with the cell number. With both Cisplatin-liposome concentration and treating time increasing, the peak current decreased. The peak current decreasing was in accordance with the nuclear damage and loss of mitochondrial membrane potential revealed by two-photon laser scanning microscopy and confocal laser scanning microscopy. This voltammetric method may provide a simple way to study the electron-transfer mechanism in drug-treating cells.     

Synthesis of 6（E）—Geranylgeraniol—19—oic Acid

Facile synthesis of 6(E)-geranylgeraniol-19-oic acid 1,a naturally occurring alicyclic diterpene acid, by a Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons olefination of two readily available fragments 2 and 3,is described.
