Summary In this paper we generalize the study of the irreversible availability, already widely developed for discrete systems, to field theory. We derive the general equations and solve analytically the stationary unidimensional case.
Riassunto In questo articolo si generalizza lo studio del lavoro estraibile di Gibbs, che è già ampiamente sviluppato nel caso dei sistemi discreti, al formalismo della teoria continua di campo. Si formulano le equazioni differenziali in generale e si risolve analiticamente il caso del problema unidimensionale stazionario.

Резюме В зтой работе мы обобщаем исследование необратимой доступности, развитое для дискретных систем, для формализма непрерывной теории поля. Мы выводим общие уравнения и решаем аналитически проблему в стационарном одномерном случае.

We report here the operation of an optically-pumped multigas Far-IR laser. In our experiment, three different gases (CH3OH, CH3Br, CH3I) were simultaneously introduced into the Far-IR cavity. By adjusting the partial pressures of the gases and by tuning the appropriate CO2 laser pump line, we were able to obtain the laser action for each one of them as efficiently as is observed when the gases are present by themselves.  相似文献

The infrared reflection spectrum of p-type SnS single crystals was measured between 2 and 25μ. The observed dispersion was ascribed to the combined effects of lattice vibrations and free holes. An analysis gave for the index of refraction n0 = 3.6 ± 0.1, the dielectric constant = 19.5 ± 2, and the effective charge on the atoms e* = 0.7e0.

The effective mass of holes is isotropic in the plane perpendicular to the c-axis, with m* = 0.20m0; the effective mass parallel to the c-axis is much larger: m* m0.  相似文献

In this paper, the eigenvalue problem of a multilayer dielectric waveguide consisting of arbitrary number of layers is solved by the microwave network method. A general program with the function of computer graphics has been developed for analyzing the dispersion characteristics and the electromagnetic field distributions of an N layer dielectric waveguide. As examples of practical applications of the program, first, the dispersions and field patterns for the planar waveguides with refractive index of parabolic and exponential profiles are analyzed. Secondly, the procedure of mode conversion and mode separation in dielectric branching waveguides is vividly demonstrated through analyzing the field distributions of asymmetric multilayer dielectric structures and the general rules of mode conversion are discussed. The examples show that the present method possesses the advantages of versatility, rapidity, simplicity and accuracy.  相似文献

Summary In an unsaturated soil, assumed to be without hysteresis, space and time evolution of volumetric water content is described by the Fokker-Planck equation. It involves three hydrological functions of the water content: matric potential, hydraulic conductivity and diffusivity. These functions are connected by a functional relation so that only two of them are independent. The behaviour of the conductivity and the diffusivity over the whole range of water content is discussed with a particular attention at vanishing water content. A correct knowledge of the behaviour of the functions prevents the occurrence of unphysical situations (as negative water content) eventually reached during evolution even starting from realistic boundary conditions. In the literature are reported measured behaviours of the hydrological functions for several soils. For two soils the range of measured behaviour is rather large. For this case the conductivity and diffusivity have been approximated by one or two hyperbolic sines or cosines which have the desidered behaviour, so that the use of these approximating functions outside the experimental range appears plausible for simulation tests. Clearly the approximating functions need not fit an extended experimental range when it will be known. Some numerical tests on horizontal diffusion, vertical steady-state distribution and infiltration during and after ponding for the two soils and for several boundary conditions give satisfactory results: no unphysical situation is reached and the movements of the water table, according to water budget, appear reasonable. More sophisticated formulae for conductivity and diffusivity, capable of a better approximation in the experimental range, have been aslo given. Measurements have been done in the millimeter wave region on a composite waveguide which comprises a dielectric rod waveguide connecting two metal rectangular waveguides. Such a waveguide has been used by us in a Josephson harmonic mixer installed in a small metal cryostat, to prevent the thermal invasion from outside environment and to transmit both signal and LO waves with small losses. The measured transmission loss, that is caused mainly by the coupling loss between metal rectangular waveguides (TE10 mode) and a dielectric rod waveguide (HE11 mode), has been less than 2dB in the frequency range of 52–104 GHz.  相似文献

Among other waveguide elements directional couplers are required in integrated millimeterwave circuits in image guide technique. Hereby an I-guide is used which consists of a dielectric slab between two conducting plates on which the electric field is perpendicularily. Flat coupling behaviour and better isolation can be reached by use of a dielectric coupling element and absorber materials. Thereby the frequency dependence is reduced significantly. Further the coupling can be steered by an additional premagnetized ferrite slab. In this way switched couplers can be realized.  相似文献
