TBOR-shaped electro-optic modulator with dual output based on double-layer graphene

We proposed an electro-optic modulator with two-bus one-ring (TBOR) structure to improve the extinction ratio and reduce insert loss. It has a dual output compared with one-bus one-ring structure. In addition, double-layer graphene makes it possible for the modulation in the visible to mid-infrared wavelength range. It shows that this new electro-optic modulator can present two switching states well with low insertion loss, high absorption and high extinction ratio. At $\lambda =1550\text{ nm}$, when the switching states are based on the chemical potential, ${\mu }_{\mathrm{c}}=0.38\text{ eV}$ and ${\mu }_{\mathrm{c}}=0.4\text{ eV}$, the insertion losses of both output ports are less than 2 dB, the absorption of the output port coupled via a micro-ring reaches 45 dB and the extinction ratio reaches 14 dB. When the refractive index of the dielectric material is 4.2, the applied voltage will be less than 1.2 V, thus can be used in low-voltage CMOS technology.     

Real-time phase measurement and correction of dynamic multimode beam using a single spatial light modulator

In this Letter,a novel system for adaptively correcting the phase of a dynamic multimode beam is proposed.While using merely one spatial light modulator,the phase measurement of the first-order diffraction pattern and the correction of the zeroth diffraction order are simultaneously realized.The real-time experimental result is obtained at a control rate of 10 Hz.The power-in-the-bucket value is improved from 38.5%to 61.8%,even with fundamental mode content that is consistently below 30%.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first implementation of real-time adaptive correction of the entire multimode beam.

Dimeric Manganese-Catalyzed Hydroarylation and Hydroalkenylation of Unsaturated Amides

An unprecedented Mn(I)-catalyzed selective hydroarylation and hydroalkenylation of unsaturated amides with commercially available organic boronic acids is reported. Alkenyl boronic acids have been successfully employed for the first time in Mn(I)-catalyzed carbon–carbon bond formation. A wide array of β-alkenylated amide products can be obtained in moderate to good yields, which offers practical access to five- and six-membered lactams. This protocol has predictable regio- and chemoselectivity, excellent functional group compatibility and ease of operation in air, representing a significant step-forward towards manganese-catalyzed C−C coupling.     

Direct Intermediate Regulation Enabled by Sulfur Containers in Working Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

Polysulfide intermediates (PSs), the liquid-phase species of active materials in lithium–sulfur (Li-S) batteries, connect the electrochemical reactions between insulative solid sulfur and lithium sulfide and are key to full exertion of the high-energy-density Li-S system. Herein, the concept of sulfur container additives is proposed for the direct modification on the PSs species. By reversible storage and release of the sulfur species, the container molecule converts small PSs into large organosulfur species. The prototype di(tri)sulfide-polyethylene glycol sulfur container is highly efficient in the reversible PS transformation to multiply affect electrochemical behaviors of sulfur cathodes in terms of liquid-species clustering, reaction kinetics, and solid deposition. The stability and capacity of Li-S cells was thereby enhanced. The sulfur container is a strategy to directly modify PSs, enlightening the precise regulation on Li-S batteries and multi-phase electrochemical systems.

奥氏体化温度对钢中马氏体组织形态的影响

用光学显微术研究了奥氏体化温度对３０、４０、６０、Ｔ８、Ｔ１２钢马氏体组织形态的影响。结果表明，奥氏体化温度越高，获得板条马氏体的量越多，奥氏体化温度超过某个临界值时，中高碳钢均可获得全部板条马氏体组织。钢的含碳量越高，获得全部板条马氏体的临界奥氏体温度越高。在该温度以下淬火时，３０、４０、６０钢先形成板条马氏体，后形成片状马氏体；Ｔ８、Ｔ１２钢先形成片状马氏体，后形成板条马氏体     

铁分子Fe2的自旋极化效应

采用密度泛函方法(B3P86)对 Fe_2分子结构进行了优化.计算结果中未观察到自旋污染,基态波函数与高态波函数并未混杂,结果表明,Fe_2中有8个未配对电子,这些电子空间分布不同和自旋平行产生的自旋极化效应,使 Fe_2能量最低.计算结果表明,Fe_2分子的基态是~9∑_g~ ,并非~7Δ_u,进而表明 Fe_2的自旋平行效应比电子自旋配对效应要强.计算得到该分子基态的二阶、三阶和四阶力常数分别为1.4115×10~(-2)aJ/nm~2、-37.1751×10~3aJ/nm~3和 98.7596×10~4aJ/nm~4；光谱数据ω_eχ_e、B_e、α_e分别为0.3522、0.0345、 0.4963×10~(-4)cm~(-1)；离解能为3.5522eV,平衡键长为0.2137nm,振动频率为292.914cm~(-1)；并得到了 Murrel-Sorbie 函数.
