Convergence rate of the best-r-point-average estimator for the maximizer of a nonparametric regression function

The best-r-point-average (BRPA) estimator of the maximizer of a regression function, proposed in Changchien (in: M.T. Chao, P.E. Cheng (Eds.), Proceedings of the 1990 Taipei Symposium in Statistics, June 28–30, 1990, pp. 63–78) has certain merits over the estimators derived through the estimation of the regression function. Some of the properties of the BRPA estimator have been studied in Chen et al. (J. Multivariate Anal. 57 (1996) 191) and Bai and Huang (Sankhya: Indian J. Statist. Ser. A. 61 (Pt. 2) (1999) 208–217). In this article, we further study the properties of the BRPA estimator and give its convergence rate under some quite general conditions. Simulation results are presented for the illustration of the convergence rate. Some comparisons with existing estimators such as the Müller estimator are provided.     

Preparation,thermal properties,and flame retardance of epoxy–silica hybrid resins

A novel epoxy system was developed through the in situ curing of bisphenol A type epoxy and 4,4′‐diaminodiphenylmethane with the sol–gel reaction of a phosphorus‐containing trimethoxysilane (DOPO–GPTMS), which was prepared from the reaction of 9,10‐dihydro‐9‐oxa‐10‐phosphaphenanthrene‐10‐oxide (DOPO) with 3‐glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTMS). The preparation of DOPO–GPTMS was confirmed with Fourier transform infrared, ¹H and ³¹P NMR, and elemental analysis. The resulting organic–inorganic hybrid epoxy resins exhibited a high glass‐transition temperature (167 °C), good thermal stability over 320 °C, and a high limited oxygen index of 28.5. The synergism of phosphorus and silicon on flame retardance was observed. Moreover, the kinetics of the thermal oxidative degradation of the hybrid epoxy resins were studied. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 41: 2354–2367, 2003

 用场方法研究了相对论速调管放大器辐射频率的可调性。发现调制电流频率的可调性与一阶Bessel函数的周期相关，对应相同的一阶Bessel函数值，可以有多个不同数值的宗量，调制电流的频率与Bessel函数宗量数值包括中间腔与提取腔之间的距离和电子束的传输速度等因素相联系。理论估计的调制电流频率可调范围与实验测得的结果符合得很好。相对论速调管放大器辐射频率的可调性还取决于提取腔的设计。     

一种基于代价函数和模糊熵的图像分割方法

提出了一种基于代价函数和模糊熵的图像分割方法.该方法先用代价函数最小化法对退化的图像作预处理,之后,利用模糊熵作进一步的处理.实验结果表明:新方法和一般的阈值分割方法相比,不但分割图像的错分率较小,而且图像的视觉效果也有较大的改善.     

A Compact Narrow-Band Tunable Optical Transversal Filter

We present a compact narrow-band tunable optical transversal filter with phase-variable taps. A transmission bandwidth of the comb filter is less than 0.2nm and can be continuously tuned in the entire FSR.     

Regular Approximations of Singular Sturm-Liouville Problems with Limit-Circle Endpoints

For any self-adjoint realization S of a singular Sturm-Liouville equation on an interval (a,b) with limit-circle endpoints, we construct a family of self-adjoint realizations S _r ,r ∈ (0,∞), of this equation on subintervals (a _r ,b _r ) of (a,b) such that every eigenvalue of S is the limit of a continuous eigenvalue branch of this family. Of particular interest are the cases when at least one endpoint is oscillatory or the leading coefficient function changes sign. In these cases, we show that the index determining each continuous eigenvalue branch has an infinite number of jump discontinuities and give an explicit characterization of these discontinuities.     

Power scaling of printed-circuit-board preionized TEA CO2 laser up to 3.6 kW

A high average power, high-repetition-rate TEA CO₂ laser employing printed-circuit-board preionizer is described. The power scaling of this preionization configuration has been demonstrated. The average output power reaches 3.6 kW at pulse repetition rate of 180 pps. Furthermore, the scaling-up ability of the rotating spark gap as high-voltage switch for high-average-power gas laser has been validated.     

Endpoint estimates for certain commutators of fractional and singular integrals

In this paper, the authors obtain the endpoint estimates for a class of non-standard commutators with higher order remainders and their variants. Moreover, the authors show that these operators are actually not bounded in certain cases.

为了了解需求因素对供应链中企业资源再利用的影响,选取工业园上下游企业的相互联系为分析背景,建立企业间的供应链模型,研究了需求不确定性σ和需求弹性k对供应链中企业资源再利用的影响.模型仿真结果表明:对存在物料供需关系的2个企业来说,随着主产品需求不确定性σ的不断增大,2个企业的总利润π呈不断下降的趋势,销售损失和库存成本增加,企业资源再利用受到阻碍;随着弹性因子k的不断增大,需求批量与供给批量差距呈现出一种先减小后增大的趋势,总利润π减小,对企业资源再利用起到了负面的影响,阻碍其发展.
