Peptide-tailored assembling of Au nanorods

By investigating the influence of peptides on the assembling process of Au nanorods induced by 4-mercaptopyridine, two kinds of peptides were identified. The nature of peptides plays an important role in tailoring assembling, which makes potential peptide recognition and detection possible.     

Screening of inhibitors for oxidase mimics of Au@Pt nanorods by catalytic oxidation of OPD

Nanostructured materials are a new class of enzyme mimics, the inhibitors of which have not been studied. Herein, we demonstrate the screening of inhibitors for Au@Pt nanorod (NR) oxidase mimics. In addition, based on the enzyme inhibition reaction, determination of "poisoning" inhibitors is demonstrated.     

The structure, properties, and nature of HArF-benzene complex: redshift and blueshift of Ar-H stretch frequency and rare gas atomic number dependence of hydrogen bonds

Ab initio calculations have been performed for the complexes of benzene with HArF, HKrF, and HXeF. The computed results indicate that the complexes of benzene-HArF exist in different conformations and among them those with π-hydrogen bonds are the more stable than those with C-H···F hydrogen bonds. Interestingly, the Ar-H stretching frequency is redshifted in the more stable isomer and blueshifted in the less stable form. The Ng (Ng=Ar, Kr, and Xe) atomic number dependence of the Ng-H···π and C-H···F hydrogen bonds has been explored. The result indicates that the strength of Ng-H···π and C-H···F hydrogen bonds is weakened with the increase of Ng atomic number. Natural bond orbital analysis has been performed to understand the interaction nature, frequency shift of H-Ng stretch, and dependence of Ng-H···π and C-H···F hydrogen bonds on the Ng atomic number.     

Micro/nano-structured montmorillonite/titania particles with high electrorheological activity

A low-cost electrorheological (ER) material made of micro/nano-structured montmorillonite/titania particles was prepared by a one-pot solvothermal method. The micro/nano-structured particles were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectra, and scanning electron microscopy. It was found that the nanorod-like titania assembled on the surface of montmorillonite, the diameters of the nanorods were about 30 nm, and the lengths were about 300 nm. The electrorheological property of the micro/nano-structured particles in silicone oil was measured under dc electric fields. It was found that the micro/nano-structured montmorillonite/titania ER fluid exhibited much stronger electrorheological effect compared to pure montmorillonite and pure titania nanorod ER fluids, while its leaking current density was significantly lower than that of montmorillonite ER fluid. The stronger electrorheological effect might be attributed to the larger interfacial polarization and interparticle friction, which originated from the unique structure and morphology of micro/nano-structured particles, compared to pure montmorillonite and pure titania nanorods.     

The Complete Biorthogonal Expansion Theorem and Its Application to a Class of Rectangular Plate Equations

In this paper, we first establish the separable $Hamiltonian$ system of rectangular cantilever thin plate bending problems by choosing proper dual vectors. Then using the characteristics of off-diagonal infinite-dimensional $Hamiltonian$ operator matrix, we derive the biorthogonal relationships of the eigenfunction systems and based on it we further obtain the complete biorthogonal expansion theorem. Finally, applying this theorem we obtain the general solutions of rectangular cantilever thin plate bending problems with two opposite edges slidingly supported.

基于深度学习的图像抠图技术

图像抠图(image matting)技术是图像编辑技术的基础, 广泛应用于影视后期制作和日常生活. 基于深度学习的图像抠图网络, 通过输入的原图和三元图来估计每个像素的 $\alpha$ 值. 在原下、上采样的图像抠图技术基础上, 针对抠图数据集图像差异较大容易造成网络收敛较慢的问题, 在每个卷积层后加入了批量标准化(batch normalization, BN)层, 对输入数据进行归一化操作, 加快模型收敛速度, 同时参数更新方向更符合数据集整体特性; 针对抠图任务需要更关注物体边缘部分的特点, 使用可变形卷积(deformable convolution)层替换普通卷积层. 可变形卷积层会根据不同输入数据自适应学习卷积核形状, 有效扩大感受野范围, 在细节部分有更好的预测效果.     

Development of X-Band TE111 Mode ESR Cavity for In Vivo Tooth Dosimetry

Electron spin resonance (ESR) tooth spectroscopy offers the possibility of in vivo dosimetry for radiation accident emergency. We developed an X-band ESR cavity for in vivo measurement of tooth enamel, which is a cylindrical cavity working at TE₁₁₁ mode. A narrow rectangular aperture to fix incisors was opened on the cavity wall, where there were strong microwave magnetic field component H₁ and weak microwave electronic field component E₁ inside the cavity. The external modulated magnetic field was applied to the incisors from both sides of the aperture. Theoretical calculations and simulations were discussed to optimize the characteristics and predict the cavity working conditions and performances. The characteristics were evaluated by measuring DPPH and whole incisor samples. Remarkable radiation induced signal of 2Gy irradiated tooth could be obtained by one 5-min ESR spectroscopy. This result indicated that the cavity was sensitive enough to detect the radiation-induced signal in human teeth. This paper describes the operation principle, configuration, and characteristics, and reports the DPPH and tooth experiments to verify the cavity.     

Design and application of a laser beam alignment system based on the imaging properties of a multi-pass amplifier

Image relaying is presented as a technique for aligning beams onto mm-sized target of high power laser. On the basis of summarizing the preceeding work on the near-field image relaying of multiple spatial filters,the far-filed image relaying is suggested firstly. The near-field and far-field image relaying properties of multiple spatial filters in laser beams automatic alignment system are analyzed. A geometrical optics approach and an ABCD ray matrix theory are used throughout. The reasonable and optimum scheme for automatically aligning multi-pass beam paths is presented and demonstrated on the multi-pass amplifier system of the SG-Ⅲ prototype.
